Actually I was out of here by 9, off to have lunch at Galatoire’s in the French Quarter with RedHat friends. Returned to the Northshore by 3, to make a chiropractor appt. Took a short nap, closed up the cars, watched the news, helped Czar make dinner. Tomorrow I plan to have a lazy day….

Sounds like a fabulous day 🙂 ! I bought some shoes and got lost trying to find a store that I was so sure I knew where it was I didn’t bother to check on its address. Finally after 30 minutes of the store being stubborn and not appearing out of thin air where I thought it should be we looked it up online. I was no where near the place 🙄.

It’s sorta jokish to the larger population but to those who live in larger cities that are drug hubs the ‘immigrant’ issue is sorta scary.
As the cartels flood into US cities with the immigrants things are only going to get worse. Lots of cops just pin that thought about how the cartels terrorize the police and politicians (they haven’t bought off) in Latin America. ‘Plato o plomo, que decida’ is the cartel’s script there, and if you don’t cooperate and fight them you and your entire family risk being wiped from the face of the earth. When the choice is to not deal with the sellers/suppliers or risk your and your family’s death what are the chances law enforcement will move forward?
Cities like Seattle and Portland are at the forefront of the next stage in the War on Drugs. Just as so many in governments from national to city have given up the fight on minority crime by just decriminalizing so many traditional crimes the cities are liberalizing their drug laws in hopes of lowering crime. Both Seattle and Portland have seen that didn’t work – the cartels and others moved in and violence spiked. Despite that the governments at all levels are letting the drug epidemic continue and the looming option, nationally, is to start decriminalizing drug use/possession/sales to some level and when they do the cartels (generic term now) will step in. More and more pols are trying to boil the frog-public by slowly making drug laws (among others) more user friendly – to turn a phrase. At some point I see them at state and national levels making harder and harder drugs more available with fewer consequences for use and limited possession. Beer bets, anyone?

That’s about where we’re going – but sooooo many wealthy Congresscrooks from major urban areas want to curtail our access to guns and shackle the police – they have our best interests in mind.

Good morning y’all. Almost Friday! I had such a great day yesterday with my youngest grandson. I don’t get to see him as much as I want to. I am making a special effort to get more time with the little guy while he is so young. I might not get any more grandkids, I need to treasure the young years.
Who knew there was a sourdough library? I guess I need to make a trip to Belguim when I win that lottery.
There has been a light breeze through the trees the last few days. Soon I will go out one morning and smell fall in the air, feel the beginning hint that summer is ending. Then I always start my sourdough so that it is ripe and bubbly when the time comes and I want fresh hot bread and some soup to go with it.

I thought so. She supports P.Trump. But, she said she looked at the paperwork and he was guilty. I was impressed at how aware of things she is.

That hold out would have been me. I may have convicted on the 3 counts and possibly I would have convicted on the 5 counts which were cut and dry. But in all honesty, possibly not. I believe President Trump will pardon Manafort after the next trial. A pardon now would simply tee off the jury pool in the next melee.
Very much has to happen in one swoop.
In fact I would not have convicted Manafort on any of the counts. The Liberals have brought gorilla warfare to our courts. They let Hillary, Obama, Holder and many others literally get away with treason and murder.
We are not going to win this war unless we fight it with ruthlessness. We can no longer count on the people we once believed were for a strong patriotic America, most of them are filthy vile rats like Little Sweaty Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and the Bush Dynasty.
No more white gloves, bareknuckle fighting is their terms not ours – but we must respond with unmitigated and unexpected force.
A free nation is depending on us to stand up to tyranny.

San Francisco “Poop Patrollers” Make $185,000
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-08-22/san-francisco-poop-patrollers-make-185000
While at first glance it doesn’t sound like the type of job people will be knocking down human resources doors to apply for, the SF Chronicle has revealed just how much each member of this apparently elite “poop patrol” team will cost the city: $184,678 in salary and benefits.
After quoting Mayor Breed, who acknowledges, “We’re spending a lot of money to address this problem,” the following San Francisco Public Works budget items are presented:
A $72.5 million-a-year street cleaning budget
$12 million a year on what essentially have become housekeeping services for homeless encampments
$2.8 million for a Hot Spots crew to wash down the camps and remove any biohazards
$2.3 million for street steam cleaners
$3.1 million for the Pit Stop portable toilets
$364,000 for a four-member needle team
An additional $700,000 set aside for a 10-member, needle cleanup squad, complete with it’s own minivan
And crucially, there’s now “the new $830,977-a-year Poop Patrol to actively hunt down and clean up human waste.”
The SF Chronicle casually notes in parenthesis, “By the way, the poop patrolers earn $71,760 a year, which swells to $184,678 with mandated benefits.”
WARNING: There are poop photos

No joke at all, I’m betting that 180,000 plus dollars in SF would not come close to giving me the standard of living I enjoy in my dot on the map that elites turn their noses up at.
I saw one of those stupid comments from liberals a few weeks ago about the “proof” that we who lived in red states are really lower IQ, hicks, unsophisticated, yada yada, on and on. I have to give it to them, they named off several truths about things we don’t have, including mass transit, availability of goods and services, etc. plus more crap stuff that they made up in their tiny minds.
Here is the thing though. I don’t want a bus to pull up at the end of my driveway. I don’t want a train passing my house. I don’t give two craps about how far away Whole Foods is. I actually do go to plays occasionally, as well as other forms of entertainment both high and low brow. I’m just fine driving a ways to enjoy them. I have been known to drive even a couple of hours to go to a museum. It didn’t kill me.
I really, really don’t give a hoot that there is no college in my town. There are some good ones in all four directions, two of which are only a half hour away. Also, news flash, I could go online and get educated by some top universities. Or I could go online and learn a new language, refresh my calculus skills, learn to play a guitar, or how to knit.
I have what they can never have in their fifth floor apartment on a bustling noise filled street. I have very fresh air, cold and absolutely delicious well water, the likes of which I’ve never tasted anywhere else. I have a bajillion trees surrounding me, every night I see thousands of real stars, not city lights.
I get to see lots of deer, turkey, and we won’t even count the horses, cows, goats, sheep, and ducks and geese that I still find nice to be neighbors with. Sometimes the donkey across the road brays and it always makes me smile. Last year for about three months we had some kind of cat who came around and yowled at night, came through about every three weeks. My favorite thing is watching the hawks fly right through the trees, somehow zigging and zagging and swooping through the woods. I put up with the coons, loathe the squirrels and chipmunks and mice and scorpions, am kind of glad about the possums (tick eaters) and don’t mind snakes and spiders too much.
For every satisfied liberal who really looks down on those of us who choose not to live our lives in the city, I simply can’t think of anything at all I’d want to add to my life. I can go find what they have. I don’t think they can have any of those things, short of mice, spiders, maybe a lost snake or two, that I care about.
I comprehend that they don’t want what I have, and I don’t look down on them for it. They cannot say the same.
And if anyone were to poop on the sidewalks of my little town, I really believe the cops couldn’t get there before someone, maybe even a little old lady, beat the absolute crap out of them. Then there would be God knows how many charges against them, but I guarantee you public indecency would be at the top of the list, and a judge would very likely send them to jail for at least a few weeks.
And I really like that too.

The ‘if you don’t live in ma major metro area’ scenario has been a Hollyork standard script for generations, It’s the urbanites stroking themselves and telling themselves how superior they are to those who work with their hands. I’d argue that it came here with our European ancestors where you can find examples of the then ‘big city’ folks writing about how unsophisticated the hicks in the countryside were.
We could be 100% self-sustaining if we wanted to and are prepared to be so if the need be. I’ve pointed out before how Katrina was a huge eyeopener, pointing out how totally dependent the folks in the city were on government provided or interdicted services. Those folks in areas unaffected by the flood, who suffered minimal – if any – damages were left without electricity, water, natural gas (especially important if you had a backup generator) or gas for your vehicle. The city could not legally force people out but it could make life so miserable that you and your family would have to leave, leaving your property to the shopping pleasure of the stay-behind looters. You and yours would be virtual vagabonds, sent by the State to some location the State chooses and forced to burn through your savings to live.
I used to get really stoked when I’d see folks from the Big City come out to dude ranches to live like the inferior ruralites did. They’d pay big bux to be a cowboy/girl for a few days, experiencing what the inferior hicks do on a daily basis. OK, they didn’t muck out stables, do those things with the horses you need to do with the horses (some of which we even considered gross), none of those things that leave you hot, sweaty and very stinky.
They have campfire cookouts (yeah, we do that at least 3 times a week), wear dry cleanable cowboy clothes and ride horses that appear to be dosed with valium. Noblesse
oblige on an Amex.

Back to my Prescription Drug Users Fee Act’ rant. So the FDA spent how long OKing a long-known generic drug in a delivery system that’s decades old? Wonder how much pressure was brought by Pfizer to delay the alternative as long as possible?
DoD’s been using the EpiPen delivery device in NBC treatments for decades, it’s not new or still under patent – though you can change one itsy-bitsy thing and get a new patent. The epinephrine’s been around longer than I have, no patent there. But as long as the EpiPen stays on the market unopposed and price-jacked millions roll into Pfizer’s account. Ain’t accusing, jes sayin’…

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
