Scott Adams – How to know the truth about “Q”

I have no horse in this race, but I think this presentation is interesting, and worth watching. I don’t necessarily agree with everything Scott says, but it held my interest, and I hope that you like it.

Topics:

  • A framework for deciding what you think about Q
  • Certainty and confirmation bias…look the same
  • The cult defense strategy
  • Whiteboard discussion – The Q Argument

Adams has some good arguments, similar to the story “The Emperor’s Clothes.” But that last bit at the end, that he and the other two guys have insider sources and info that no one else has, is irrelevant. imo We all have insider sources, and our own insights possessed by no one else.

To me, the question is not is Q real, or what is the truth about Q. The question is what is Q’s purpose, and is Q fulfilling that purpose?
Q’s purpose is to stimulate others to do their own research, and learn to rely on one’s own conclusions with proof to back up those thoughts. imo
For the most part, Q is succeeding. People are learning and hearing things entirely new to them.

Those who are arguing over whether Q is real, or what is the truth about Q, are defeating the purpose.
And all this arguing over Q is just silly. Q does not change anyone’s lives for better or worse. Q is a mind exercise, like crosswords or sudoku.
Full disclosure – have been reading Q since Q’s inception, which was 31 Oct 2017. Q is entertaining for me. Have been learning more from listening/reading the Q interpretations than from anything Q says. Some of the correlations people draw are astonishing, to say the least.

Thx 4 the vid, Stella. Adams is always entertaining and thought-provoking.

    • Me too with the thanks to Stella. A lot of great quotes in this video. And I’ve been following the Q thing for quite a while, too, and have been watching and reading Adams since I was reading the comics in newspapers.

That was not food for thought. That was a meal.
