ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ’S EMBARRASSINGLY INCORRECT CLAIM

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made several bizarre claims in an interview with Firing Line’s Margaret Hoover last week that has a lot of people scratching their heads. Ocasio-Cortez, the left’s new darling and self-described socialist, was asked about the strong economy and low unemployment rate. She offered a bizarre explanation.
“Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs,” she explained. “Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their kids.”
Huh?
Ok, first of all, that’s not even how the unemployment rate works. It’s a measure of how many people are looking for a job but can’t find one. Neither holding multiple jobs, nor working overtime affects the calculation at all.
Secondly, “everyone has two jobs” couldn’t be further than the truth. The percent of workers with more than one just is near its all-time low, under 5%.
And people aren’t working longer and longer hours to make ends meet. In fact, people are working fewer hours, not more, meaning it’s actually easier than ever to feed your family.
Ocasio-Cortez then goes on to blame capitalism for the above-mentioned made-up problems. Ironically, her dire description of the economy is a more apt description of what life was like BEFORE capitalism, when everyone worked extremely long hours, including children, just to avoid starvation. She seems to long for those days.
“Capitalism has not always existed in the world and it will not always exist in the world,” she said.

There are many different measures of “weekly work hours,” but all show a long downward trend in hours worked, not an upward trend as Ocasio-Cortez contends.

That possibility was specifically suggested by someone who posted on this yesterday – I don’t remember where I saw it, but they wondered if that idea was her perspective and, being ignorant and all, it got expressed.

Yeah, and she was out with Vladimir Sanders supporting the election try of Brent Welder when she said that. Wonder if Brent did a forehead slap on that one – but it could be used as an excuse vwhen he loses!
Brent was a senior member of Obama’s field staff in 2007-2008 and in the top tiers of the Teamsters Union in 2008-2016, sort of drafting Obama. 2015-2016 he was on the Sander’s for President staff as a senior advisor. Expect to see more of this pinko lawyer in the future.

Many entities created this bizarre happenstance in the form of Ocasio-Cortez. The Democrat party created her via leftist professors. Her family created her mind-set because they could or would not articulate what is great about free enterprise or religion or the United States Constitution. The voters created her because they choose to be uneducated and ignorant. Finally, she created herself because she has no discernment. If she is elected, she will be nothing but a disruption with stupidity as her guide.

She is trouble and she worries me greatly. She just uses all the sound bytes (bites?) that people who do not want to work, who want stuff…handed to them, and who expect those who have worked and saved what they could, even if very little, to give it to them. They fall for and work towards it and will elect her. They don’t see her as stupid, only as someone who wants to help them. That’s all they care about. I believe she will be elected, but have to wait and see.
She despises Israel also.

Lenin, Hitler, Uncle Ho, Mao – they all knew that people want…need…to believe lies that help the make sense of what surrounds them. She’s no different than any other garden variety Bullshitvic when it comes to political lies, they’re a tool of the trade.
Best thing to do with her ilk is find a convenient wall and put her up against it. Then again, with the huge influxes of foreign dross looking for a free ride that Obama and his like have been importing we can look for more of her ilk.
