That is someone I am going to keep on my radar. She has the potential to become very powerful.

From what I have heard from someone who lives there, the Republicans are putting up a weak candidate, and not waging a strong campaign against her for the general election. This could be a good opportunity for them, and they seem to be dropping the ball (as they so often do).

I didn’t know that, but I agree it is a mistake. Everything about this woman screams she could go very far. She was already popular as we saw in the election, and she is gaining people daily. I have seen a couple of interviews with her. She is intelligent, speaks very well and to the point, no ducking or weaving and I really think she had better be stopped or she will only continue to rise in the party.
She is very likable. I find myself liking her as a person. I just disagree with every solution she thinks is the right one for the problems we face in our country. She really worries me.

Well, she’s a liar – about her background, specifically, and people are catching on. She is just beginning to become known, and I’m sure there are more secrets in her closet.

Anyone who voted for her and those who like her stance on the issues, won’t care that she lied. Look at the Hillary lovers. Her solutions would favor the so-called downtrodden.
Socialism. This is why she is dangerous. For the freebies they will get? They will vote for her.
I am curious, what lie did she tell? Is it big enough for people who want freebies to turn against her? Can there ever be a big enough lie to matter to them?

She ran as a “girl from the Bronx”, but she actually grew up in tony Westchester County.

I think my comment was lost, by me! I see how she played that. Her supporters won’t care. They can’t think far enough ahead to see what her way would do to this country, and even to them. I’m going to keep watching her. Thank you for the article.

You’re welcome! I think it’s ironic that Donald Trump actually grew up in Queens, and she said that he wouldn’t know how to talk with a girl from the Bronx (where she didn’t actually grow up).

The rest of the story …
It’s Not Socialism, It’s Racism
The myth of the media’s new Socialist It Girl.
https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/270614/its-not-socialism-its-racism-daniel-greenfield
Instead the media thrills to its own fake news of how Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the “girl from the Bronx”, a Socialist candidate and “giant-slayer”, impossibly defeated Rep. Crowley. And that’s accompanied by analysis of how her victory is proof of the inevitable triumph of Socialism. The media has even begun trying to ‘Obamaize’ her with stories about her brand of lipstick selling out.
The fake news narrative has nothing to do with the truth about Cortez and the reality of the 14th.
The simple truth is that the Democratic Socialists of America and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez put in time and money into a district that the Democrats hadn’t bothered to protect because Republicans couldn’t win it. The secret to Cortez’s victory wasn’t socialism. It was her last name.
Nor is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a “girl from the Bronx”. She’s the daughter of an architect from a pricey suburb in Westchester County. Her father, a Pratt Institute grad, was a founder of KOR which stood for Kirschenbaum & Ocasio-Roman Architects. The Ocasio (rather than the Kirschenbaum) part of the name meant that it operated as a “certified minority business enterprise” which came with assorted privileges.
MBEs are able to cut in line and get all sorts of lucrative government contracts. All it takes is having a minority grandfather and your company is entitled to drink from a river of government cash flowing only to MBE companies. And if your ancestry is whiter than that of Senator Elizabeth Warren, you can always find a minority partner and then let the good times roll. At the expense of the working tax-paying stiffs.
After her father cashed in on affirmative action while living in Westchester County, his daughter cashed in her minority card in a New York City election even though she has far more in common with the white hipster Bernie Sanders supporters who provided the muscle for her campaign than any of the minorities living in a housing project in Queens or the Bronx. But that’s also why the media loves Cortez.
She’s one of them: a suburban leftist with a bio consisting of studying International Relations at Boston U, working on immigration issues for Ted Kennedy, serving as the National Hispanic Institute’s Social Entrepreneur in Residence, producing a web series, shuttling between trendy lefty protests and founding what appears to a defunct social justice publishing house.
This isn’t the biography of an urban minority politician, but an upscale lefty hipster drifting after college from one activist gig to another, developing the contacts that put her in the right place at the right time. These are the bios of ten thousand professional lefties who infest the non-profit sector. They’re all angry, self-righteous and interchangeable. The minorities among them hail from wealthy areas.
And like all upscale lefties, they love putting on as much working class cred as they can get away with…

I wouldn’t call it racism. I do call it taking advantage of the fact that they are the minority for now. That is going to change and I don’t know what will happen then. My guess? They will not recognize any other minority as having had to struggle as much as they, and I include blacks in that. They all have one thing in common, the white man kept them from having their freebies. I do not include those who went before to fight for basic civil rights for themselves. My gripe is reserved for those who do not want to work and want others to support them.

Speaking of:
Did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist fanaticism come from bitter failure in business?
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/07/did_alexandria_ocasiocortezs_socialist_fanaticism_come_from_bitter_failure_in_business.html#.W0D2DwHKIjI.facebook
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the upstart Democratic Socialist who shocked the political world in the June primary when she defeated 10-term incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley of New York, once advocated for tax cuts when she was running a business of her own, uncovered news reports from 2012 reveal.
Ocasio-Cortez, 28, is a dues-paying member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), an organization that calls for the abolishment of capitalism and argues that “private corporate property is not only wrong, but also nonsensical.” Her campaign platform calls for instituting a single-payer health care system, a federal jobs guarantee and housing as a human right, radical and expensive policies she says will be funded through raising taxes on corporations and high-income Americans.
But Ocasio-Cortez appeared to have a different outlook on capitalism and taxes in 2012 when she was running a business of her own, Brook Avenue Press, an incorporated publishing firm for children’s books set in the Bronx. As a business owner, she came out in support of a bill that would provide tax deductions for business start-up costs, arguing that taxes directly impacted her business profits.
“You don’t really make a profit in your first year,” Ocasio-Cortez told the now-defunct DNAinfo when she was 22. “To get taxed on top of that is a real whammy.”

She’s a real piece of work and they love her. I would appreciate any updates you get on her. I am going to google when her election is, I am assuming Nov. As you stated, the GOP better run someone good, but the articles I have read so far, said a republican never wins there.
