My working theory is that the owners finally put this kitty on a diet and kitty left home in search of food!

Ate himself out of house & home…. People could not afford the cat food, or perhaps he peestered them so much they threw him out. Got a couple of them now: Freddie weighs 15# & gets up at 5:00 to remind us he expects first-breakfast soon.

I neglected to get clarification of Freddie’s “first-breakfast.” How many does he prefer?!

First breakfast is dry, crunchy bits, which one of us has to get out for him at the opposite end of the house. Then he returns to the bedroom to rest for a while, whereupon he starts licking, patting and/or sitting on us to get up for second-breakfast: wet, pate cat food in seafood flavor. No going back to bed after that.
