Summer Breeze

See the curtains hangin’ in the window, in the evenin’ on a Friday night
A little light a-shinin’ through the window, lets me know everything is alright

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind

See the paper layin’ in the sidewalk, a little music from the house next door
So I walked on up to the doorstep, through the screen and across the floor

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind

Sweet days of summer, the jasmine’s in bloom
July is dressed up and playing her tune
And I come home from a hard day’s work
And you’re waiting there, not a care in the world
See the smile a-waitin’ in the kitchen, food cookin’ and the plates for two
Feel the arms that reach out to hold me, in the evening when the day is through

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind

  1. Here’s a great article, and the thread is just as great, via AoSHQ tonight.

    http://americandigest.org/wp/we-didnt-have-this-green-thing/

Especially, aside the meat of the essay, read the comment by ghostsniper in the thread.

Have a wonderful Monday, Stellars. And happy Fathers’ Day to all you baby daddies.

Part of the cultural reeducation of this generation is to convince them that those over 40 are personally responsible for all the ills of the world. They have zero idea of what really went on at any time prior to their personal awareness kicking in and little desire to correct that defect. They believe that when we’re all dead their enlightened generation led by their clay-footed idols will clear all of these ills in just a few months by recycling their imported water bottles and eating local, sustainable and organic foods.

As a whole, they aren’t real bright, either, and I shouldn’t say that because I sadly belong in the Millennial generation.

Pinterest continues to think that I am a flaming liberal, no matter how many times I delete their liberal/pro-abortion/pro-gay marriage/pornographic pins. But because they suffer under this delusion, I get pins by stupid Millennials, including one last week featuring Millenials weeping about how they were deluded by capitalists into buying bread when they could be making it themselves!

I don’t think my generation can cure any of the world’s ills, no matter what they fantasize about. First they have to master basics again, like making bread instead of buying it.

I avoid social media as it looks suspiciously like the active propaganda programd the military psyops units were working some years back, you get top end freed from selective sources and chastised for non-correct thinking. If I were on Twitter the twits would have a whole squad dedicated to quashing my tweets.

  2. Never heard Greg Rolie’s name. He’s the keyboardist on Santana’s Black Magic Woman, on the organs. He’s also the guy singing. Yesterday was his birthday. Always wondered who the guy singing for Santana was. Now I know. Thanks to the AoSHQ overnight thread. Greg was also a member of Journey. The things you learn.

Also I found, this morning, a funk band from the 70s I had never heard, or even heard of, called the LaFayette Afro Rock Band. It’s some of the best music I’ve never heard. Apparently they were from NYC in the 70s, thought the USA was a glut of funk bands, so they moved to Paris, and that’s why I’ve never heard of them. Used as a seed on Pandora got me ten other beautiful funk bands I’ve never heard of. Just great stuff.

This morning, after talking with my dad for an hour, I rode down to the local public outdoor piano with Lafayette Afro Rock Band playing on my JBL, and tore that piano up. Funk like that is so easy and fun to improvise to. And it makes people smile, and even dance. I didn’t even sit down on the bench.

    Such goodness.

Summer Breeze…August 1972. Living in (then) small town Utah, getting my paperwork ready for my college loan, getting class schedule lined up and harvesting the last of my garden before it cooked in the dry heat.
Getting oldest ready for 2nd grade and (then) youngest ready to go back to the sitter though I’d take breaks and bring them to college with me. Youngest (then) turns 50 this August.

    • @7:40, the Beeb’s narrator, describing Rollo, the Norwegian giant, almost spitting out the words in disgust:

“…he was skilled in using the usual Viking tools of violence and chaos…”

I wonder when the BBC will use those words and that disgust to describe Muslims in their very midst, conquering them. Probably more than a thousand years after they are gone. When they can no longer kill you for speaking blunt, honest truth. It’s so easy to speak as if disgusted about Vikings, a thousand years later, for the BBC.

I like the show so far, but it’s so stereotypically cowardly for the English. So “nice”. Very well-produced, too, like our NPR and PBS, giving it the patina of authority.

We have to wait a thousand years for the BBC to speak angry and honest truth about Muslims. That’s just how the British roll.

Hmmmmm…did the Beeb bother to didscuss the Brit’s record of death abd destruction to people as they built their empire? Brits were still owning once sovereign foreign countries they’d invaded after WWII where they fought Germany for doing nearly the same thing.

Many of the BBC shows do cover that. One of the best series is by Lucy Worsley called British History’s Greatest Fibs. Part 3 is all about Empire and what the Brits did in India, lies told.

To be fair, the British do a great job with history programs. Better than anybody in this country.

        • A whole lot of the people in those countries wish the Brits were back. Things were better, then, than they are now.

And yes, I’m sure the BBC has self-flagellated Britain in several TV series for it’s colonialism, many, many times. I don’t personally know this, but I would bet my last dollar they have, and that they are working on another self-flagellation series, and another glowing, lionizing series about Islam.

But at least they have good production values and audio engineering. That’s what really matters, as your former civilization is being overtaken.

I look at Hong Kong. Under Brit dominion they adapted and adopted the Brit style and out-Brited the Brits. We didn’t do so bad after we dumped them, come to think of it.
At the very least, production values and audio engineering considered, the food available in the Brit heartland will be better than the traditional fare. Then again it couldn’t be much worse.

I said, basically, that words aren’t necessary. We get the message without language. The act is language.

When you see people who are not your nation, waving the flag of another nation, marching through your city streets and speaking another language, you don’t need words to understand what is being said.

Apparently their ideal Catholic candidate will be someone like Tim Kaine who does the “I’m personally against abortion but won’t condemn the Democrat stance on it, or Kirsten Gillibrand who supports abortion rights and considers abortion a “women’s health issue.”

Saving children from abortion is certainly a Christian issue, while enabling people to immigrate without permission into a nation which has laws against such illegalities IS NOT.

How about spending some of that Vatican money on employment projects in countries which are doing so poorly their peoples want to leave?

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
