First Lady Melania Trump Participates in an Initiative Launch Event

Melania Trump says she’ll announce her initiatives as first lady on Monday.

“Tomorrow is the day! Very excited to announce my initiatives,” she tweeted Sunday.

Her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, says the focus will be on the overall well-being of children, which Mrs. Trump has spoken about since becoming first lady.

    Melania talks about the children’s over-all welfare while Michelle over-aii taks about keeping kids on welfare.

    I remember when the welfare of children was their mother’s and father’s responsibility. It was an efficient system.

    My opinion: The normalizing of top-down supervision from governmental entities, including the office of the First Lady, is not something to be reinforced or admired. Such campaigns seem to rise from an assumption that parents just can’t do the job and, furthermore, are no longer expected to.
