Reminds me that waaaaaay back in the late 60s I had a female hippyish friend who was going vegsan and tried to make her cat vegan to. Poor thing would rush over to anyone who came in with the most pitiful ‘you wouldn’t have a piece of tuna on you, would you’ look you’ve ever seen.

WWI trenches were filled with live rats…..so having a cat was a special thing to the soldiers….cats got pretty fat, if they stayed away from the mustard gas attacks.
