    I’m glad to hear the old-fashioned hymns. Reminds me of my aunts’, uncles’ and mothers’ funerals.

      I asked my dad what music he wanted for my mom’s funeral. I can’t remember if I picked Amazing Grace or The Old Rugged Cross, but I didn’t listen to the version by the group, even though I was familiar with one of their versions. When it started to play in the middle of the funeral, it was a very upbeat, bouncy, fast version that I had never heard and to this day have never found again. I was mortified, and I glanced around to see my cousin’s all looking at me like I had lost my mind. Which wasn’t far from the truth.
