He certainly was a cute puppy. He’s still attractive, but not so stinkin’ cute.

leg hiking and digging and mud tracking get tiresome…but it .was lonely to me without a little furry doggie…waited after the 14 yo dachs crossed the rainbow bridge…and it was just sad for us all…but getting another was really tough too….we got an adult rescue that time, and did not do the puppy thing again until I rescued the 5 week old abandoned Aussie Cattle Dog, and then had the puppy, then the young male dog stuff to do…and if he were not so smart, cute, and full of energy that I don’t have so much of anymore, it would have gotten to be a drag….but now, my 6 AM potty poop and breakfast time is when I get my coffee hit too. Now, I think I have learned to love living things MORE than ever….and mopping mud is not as bad as changing diapers used to me, IMO.

Nothing like a happy wiggly furry beast greeting you first thing in the am!

my dachs sleeps with us in the big bed.
snuggles so she touches both of us….when she gets too warm, crawls out from cover, then when she gets cooler, crawls back under….she sometimes gets dreaming and sorta soft woofing…and darn if it doesn’t make me laugh at night even.

morning time, she waits patiently for permission to get down and go outside where she and the Aussie Cattledog race together for the doggie door to go out, and then race back for their breakfast, which is waiting with me and my cup of coffee….after I have taken a cup to my wife’s bedside table for when she wakes up in about 5 minutes later.

Noel, a rescue dog who had her two front legs amputated after being crushed by a car, inspired her dad to push on!
