    Good morning everyone!
    Kiddo and I spent all day at Sea World as a school trip Monday. I had woken up, or rather BEEN woken up at 4 am so it was a very long day but he had fun. Fed the seals, got to feed and touch a dolphin, touch the sharks, manta rays, anemone. He was pretty excited about dolphins and sharks(they have an aquarium that has a tunnel for viewing them). It was a pretty good day, but I am exhausted.
    I wanted to tell you about a few things I observed. So its San Diego, and you have heard about the hepatitis epidemic. Sea World is on a peninsula, about 20 minutes from Miramar, not downtown, the ocean being visible from inside the park. We arrived at the school entrace and I was extremely shocked!
    There were rvs everywhere. The truly dumpy ones you see when they never get moved. Crazy drug addict homeless people walking around. At the “school” entrance gate….. Thank God we are both vaccinated. I saw more people when we left and a couple miles away also. Its a lot due to “community policing guidelines”.
    All schools can go through the education passes, but people take advantage of the discount. Well a group of about 100 seriously fundamental Muslims went in ahead of our group today. Full veil. Even the small girls had hajibs. Many not speaking English. And the kicker? Not one single teensy bit of security! Nothing.
    I am going to write to Sea World but I doubt their corporate with reply. Can you believe this stuff?
    Im not going back unless that place is secured!

      I’m glad your son had a good time, but those are some very concerning situations that you described. I’ll say one thing about living in the north – you don’t see as many homeless people. It’s hard to sleep outside when it’s snowing and 20 degrees, although some still do it.

        Yes maam your real weather doesnt leave room for screwing off like here. They looked like professional homeless to me, but most in socal are. Saw them all over when I took my dog to be put down on Friday, and that was another city 35 miles from home. Its bad.

        Around the city there are many who can’t get into shelters due to drugs, alcohol or mental problems. City has shelters that open in freezing weather, they’ll sweep up as many as want the shelter and house them until the remps come up then it’s back out on the streets.
        In truth many of those homeless are so far out of it there’s no way you’ll ever roundt hem up and make ’em productive citizens again. To tweak our guilt they’ll have a story about how one was saved but they never talk about the far more numerous cases that either fail or are too far gone to even bother with. They ignore the professionally homeless, those who travel from city to city on a regular schedule – the NWO hobos.
        There’s a whole industry that’s grown up around the homeless and I wonder if they’ll allopw the issue to disappear – remember the furor around the homeless during the Reagan administration?
        So let’s see how the war on homelessness stacks up against the war on drugs, war on DUI, war on poverty……

          We have shelters here, and more when the weather is especially dangerous, but many still refuse to go there because they can’t drink or do drugs. I saw a guy one night sleeping on the grates in front of city hall in Detroit – there was enough warm air to keep him from freezing, apparently.

            I don’t have a great deal of sympathy with them. The media winnow through them to find someone who was a nuclear physicist and lost it all when he tripped on a banana peel, broke his ankle and couldn’t make it to work but the overwhelming majority we ran into were druggies, boozers or mentally broken.
            Druggiers and boozers would panhandle all day (or steal) to get money to buy drugs/booze, they ‘medicate’ rather than eat then – if they didn’t sleep thru it – would head to the mission for food. If they missed it/couldn’t get in they’ll search dumpsters and try to panhandle for food. We’d usually tell them we wou;ldn’t give them money but we’d buy them a meal and we’d get turned down more times than we’d get taken up.
            At some point they break down and collapse, they’re taken to a hospital and washed up/stabilized and brought back at public expense and then turned out to start the cycle all over.

              Ive seen them inpatient. Irate, demanding, slovenly, combative. Rarely angelic. What wasted lives!

                I’ve had to deal with then drunk and disorderly, drugged and disorderly/unconcious/violent/inchoherent/sick/you name it. City was forced by bleeding hearts who generally don’t get within a mile of them to establish a service that caters to them. City’s even found most of them housing where they can carry on their antisocial and illegal behaviors in comfort.

      I am so terrified to send him to kindergarten in fall. I will give them a try but if I see anything suspicious its home school then charter. 🤔😕

        May I offer a suggestion when the kiddies are in a public indoctrination school? Leftist indoctrination in my school in MA started in 1968 in 6th? grade I think it was. Every day when the kiddies come home ask to see their homework, and ask them what they did and talked about in school. Go over their homework with them, explaining what you as a family believe, and why it differs from what was taught in school, and also whether you want them to say anything other than the public party line (I’m guessing in kindergarten – no).. It is time consuming,but my dad did this with me, and also now my friend is doing this with her 2 boys in Catholic schools. Be aware Catholic schools are no longer a gaurantee of an education free from progressivism, but they are still better than most public schools. You do not have to be Catholic to go to one. This seems to be the only way other than homeschool,or some other private school to counteract 6 hours a day of brainwashing and group pressure. If you homeschool, find out if your home has to be inspected by the state before you agree to it.

          Catholic schools are mostly inaccessible now except to those very well off. My husband and I were all but penniless by the time the last child graduated. It’s worse now, the tuition is outrageous.

          Some schools have financial aid, but I suspect that it is given to truly low income students from the inner cities.

          I have commented, over and over, to my priests and others involved in my parish, that aside from the Hispanic population, there are almost no blue collar working class Catholics left in the Church. No one seems to care.

          In fairness, the Director of Adult Faith Formation at our parish is a wealthy well traveled, well connected lady. She tells me that I am seeing the whole Church through the singular view of our parish and that there are many other parishes with a very different makeup. I hope she is correct.

          In our parish there are young families with children who are not well off, but their parents are extremely well educated and all that I have met are most definitely white collar people who live in a very insular world and socialize only within that tiny Catholic trad bubble.

            I agree the cost is high, and the salt in the wound is the taxes are also paid to the state for public schools you do NOT use. I really do think there should be a change in how schools are funded.
            In an upper class town near me a woman said she came from NYC. She hated living in the town in what she considered the country, but wanted her children to grow up in that environment. She openly admitted she voted for every additional thing the school wanted because she was only going to be there for a limited number of years, and then was selling her house and going back to NYC, saying again how she hated the town. I fear that is what is happening in my town. We have a lot of progressive out of staters that come here for the schools and low crime. It really has changed the town for the worse.It does not seem fair that the people who stay here for decades (let’s say 36 years) pay for their kids for 12 years of school, then another 24 years of crazy spending on schools the progs vote for, but then they leave. Reform is needed badly.

            About the church – Yes it does cater to the Hispanic population. That is all around the country from what I’ve seen, although it does depend on the beliefs and actions of the priest running the particular church. It seems a lot of the Hispanics just move to whatever church caters to them the most – whether it is Catholic or Protestant.
            As to your last paragraph – yes I find that as well. There are very few places for Trad Catholics to socialize, relax and be able to be themselves and speak freely without constant harassment. Are you excluded from their group? Maybe it’s just they all went to 12-16 years of the same schools. My 2 best friends and I have known each other for over 40 years, having gone to the same Catholic college. In a way whether someone is old or younger, rich or poor, or whatever, it does not seem to matter to Trads as much as the beliefs the people hold.

              I guess that I am not excluded from the groups, but they are mostly young families with children, and their husbands are lawyers, professors, computer programmers, insurance salesmen, etc.

              The last time we went to a social event with them we were at least 15 years older than some, and more than 20 years older than most. The men were discussing suits vs khakis for business attire, etc, and the women were discussing their home school projects.

              Although I lacked a few classes having a degree, my education is as good as theirs, better than some, but our worlds and ages are vastly different. In spite of them being welcoming and us wanting to fit in, it doesn’t work, there just aren’t any people there who have anything at all in common with us.

              Now if we spoke Spanish, both my husband and I would fit right in with them. I have worked with a number of Hispanics on houses I have worked on.

                Every single Hispanic I’ve ever worked with is good people. No lie.

                Granted, none of them have demonic tattoos from their forehead to their groin.

                I work with several every day. Sometimes construction workers or drywallers, just for fun and no money. The Hispanics I work with are Americans. Because they want to be Americans.

                I speak daily with two at my former restaurant. Two at my current restaurant. A great lady friend has a Mexican husband who rocks any kitchen. Helped set the floor joists in the construction project next door (gonna be a really cool store, I’ll post pictures this summer) with three of them. For free. For fun. We had a blast, and they were like, “Who this gringo? Why he helping us?” Met their families, still break bread with them. All wonderful people.

                The only Spanish I ever bothered to learn, they all know: “Que dios te bendigo, mi hermano y mi hermana.”

                I learned that in Polish, too.

                  At least that’s how it’s pronounced.

            There is a private Catholic school not so far from me and their tuition is about 20k a year, plus you are required to hand over a “monetary gift” at a ceremony annually of about 3000 bucks. Not accessible to me at all.

              Understandible. It isn’t likely that any of my grandchildren will go to Catholic schools. Middle son has a stepson who wants to go to a private school, and he might, but it will likely be another secular private school if he does.

                There are online Catholic schools for those whose local Catholic schools are too expensive. Mother of Divine Grace Academy and Kolbe Academy online enrollment is affordable compared to many schools.

                I’m lucky to live in WI. Tuition is a sacrifice for us, but it is lower than may other places and they have great financial aide.

          If you want to homeschool, you might talk to the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and see if they will guide you in regards to the laws in your state. I don’t remember if you need to be a member for that type of help or not.

          If you become a member, they are like ADF but for Homeschoolers.

        These things have been in the process of being ingrained for at least a couple of decades. We were still living in the Antelope Valley in California in 1992. A friend of ours had small children, the oldest just starting kindergarten that fall. She reported that within the first week of kindergarten classes, her little girl came home one day all excited to report to her mother:

        “Mommy! My teacher told me that I don’t have to do what you tell me!”

        Upon further gentle questioning, it was established that – yes, indeed. The children had been told that they did not have to do what their parents said they should do.

        That was 26 years ago. Seriously, you are allowing yourself to be deceived if somehow you anticipate that this will be ok. Your child’s particular teacher could be an exception to the norm, but stable and appropriate will be the exception now. They are certainly not the norm.

        When my son was in 6th grade (he will be 52 in June) I found that his teacher did not understand how to write contractions (don’t, isn’t, won’t) and she was not correcting his incorrect homework (do’nt, is’nt, wo’nt) because that was the way she thought it was supposed to be. I ended up visiting with the principal and showing him the paperwork. He just looked at me silently.

        That teacher had at least a bachelor’s degree. So she knew she couldn’t be wrong.

        Do not think that you are starting from an even playing field where the chances of the school system meeting your requirements is likely.

          As I mentioned earlier, we spent tons of money on parochial schools, and for the most part, our children got an excellent education. However, I always corrected their papers, and I tried to teach them to write well.

          They never were taught to write as well as I was, and by the time they graduated high school, their composition skills were not as good as mine were when I completed the ninth grade.

          That is a somewhat unfair comparison. I had a teacher who taught English, Composition, Geography from seventh through ninth grades, and she told us when we left her class we would be writing a college level research paper. She meant it, and she succeeded. We learned to write casual letters, business letters, letter of instruction, book reports (done in depth), term papers, reports, and then the final paper. We chose from a list of topics she gave us at the beginning of the year, and we researched and wrote that paper all year.

          We had to have a number of sources, six if I remember correctly, and periodicals were not allowed unless it was some scholarly source she approved. We submitted a brief description for her approval first, then an outline, a list of sources, a rough draft, and finally, the report with title page and a full and proper bibliography. This was all way before internet. We went to the library all year.

          I never saw any of my kids go that in depth, and that includes all the way through college. When I was in management those skills I learned in junior high school were very important to me.

          Anyhow, my point is that I think I helped teach my boys to write as much as the teachers did. It took well with one, two of them are not as good at writing.

    Congress recently passed the Taiwan Travel Act and Trump signed it into law on Friday. The law allows high-ranking members of the US government to meet with officials from the island of Taiwan.
    The mainland Chinese government took little time in reacting, seeing the bill as as US sponsored impediment to the PRC from swallowing up Taiwan, and basically threatened war with Taiwan which could quite easily draw the US and other Asian nations into a face-to-face confrontation with Big China.
    The PRC will not tolerate any interference with its plans to suck Taiwan and the other islands back into the mainland sphere, it considers any actions involving officialtalks between Taiwan and the US direct interference with its reannexation plans. It’s said it will step up its military patrols, incursions and intel recon activities aimned at Taiwan and will not tolerate any interference. Let’s see if they are doing this to get Taiwan to rake any actions the PRC considers provocative, giving the mainland an excuse to launch the invasion it’s planned since Mao’s time.
    Stand by, sportsfans.

      Life was so much easier for oligarchs around the world when the US had president after president that only wanted to leave office with as much money and power as possible the people and nation of America be damned.

      President Trump is a foreign animal to them. I hope our President continues to rock the world. Right the ship or let it sink, it is beyond time to stop rearranging the chairs on the deck and pretending like all is well.

        PRC is having real problems with Hong Kong, even though England gav it back to PRC years ago the Hong Kongians don’t see themselves as mainland Communist stooges. Xi’s sending a special team there to speed the change of mind and identity while the Hong Kong folks are telling him to pound sand – that’s going to be a trouble area.
        Trying to force Taiwan into the fold will be more troublesome than Hong Kong. The problems these forceful assimilations will cause may keep China unstable for a while. Then again if Hillary were in a large donation to the Foundation just might have smoothed over bthe PRC’s attempts at regaing its lost peoples.

      I am glad Trump did this. China should not be deciding our foreign policy.
      The Chinese that escaped China for a free Taiwan Escaped for Freedom.
      Do we still have that treaty/agreement with Taiwan that if they are attacked, we side with, and help them? I don’t remember.

        Yes and no. We dumped the ‘will defend’ provision in ’79 when we recognized the PRC. Now we’ll defend Taiwan if Congress agrees and authorizes it, largely why we’ve been giving Taiwan so many advanced weapons over the years – makes us feel like they can do the job.

        Over the years PRC has massed missiles and potential invasion sites just across the Straits from Taiwan, just waiting for an opportunity. Now ‘Leadedr for Life’ Xi may think he has it. If he can get Taiwan to do something he thinks is provocative he can mass attack and bybthe vtime Congress acts it will probably be too late.

            I think that Xi sees Trump as a wild card. Previous presidents weren’t as rich as Trump so they might be convinced to shuffle policy a bit by the PRC or people dependent on the PRC.
            China jused NK to test Trump and that didn’t work so now they’re cutting to the chase and doing it in the first person.
            I’m betting China sees the US with logistics problems and a somewhat worn out military facing it with its massive, brand new and shiny military. Let’s see where this goes.

                I’m wondering if Xi is thinking he can deter Japan from workingbwith us – hence the NK threats to Japan with its missiles. If that’s the casecwe’ll have a heck of a time sustaining the forces we send, especially since China’s spent so much time and money on ways to counter our naval power.
                It’s right close to midterms so China can see how voters react to Trump (might the ‘war’ threat be a ‘hack’ to sway voters?) and two years to elections. If we get a Rat president in 2020 then we’ll probably go back to the Carter/Clinton/Obama policy of leaving SEA to the Chinese.

      When I was very little, my parents, hippies that they were, decided one year to go on a health-food kick.

      Our Easter baskets contained carob (fake chocolate), dried apricots and figs. We actually cried. If we had been able to swear at that age, we’d have been like “What the F*** is this s***??! Jesus Christ! It’s f***ing Easter where’s my g**damn candy??!”

      I will never forget that Easter, and will never let my folks forget it, either.

        Worst Easter basket year we had was none. It really hurt me to do it, but it had to be. The kids of course knew there was no Easter bunny but we still gave them treats. We were on a very tight budget, as always back then, and since I had three kids to buy for, I would start getting the chocolate treats (I always got good stuff not the stupid peeps and jelly beans) when they first came out, a few things each week. By Easter I could stock the baskets.

        One year the little brats found the candy and it was almost completely gone the few days before Easter that I found out. They really thought this would force me to re-stock. They got nothing and I cried.

        I don’t know why I was so soft hearted, if it happened today I’d probably wrap up nasty notes in plastic Easter eggs, record it and laugh at the jerks.

    Message in our neighborhood board that a coyote was in a lady’s backyard a mile or so south of me, in Detroit. That’s the first sighting that I’m aware of this close to downtown Detroit, but I’m sure there are some. Yesterday we had a deer sighting in the same general vicinity. Wildlife in the city!

      She’s in Palmer Woods, which is a beautiful neighborhood between Woodlawn Cemetery and the Palmer Park Golf Club. I imagine that accounts for the wild critters – lots of cover.

      Coyotes can be a terrible problem – they were when I lived in central MA near the Quabbin resevoir. If you don’t have a bolt-action rifle, get a deadbolt lock. There would be a group of them around my car, and the deadbolt action noise scared them away so I could get in the car.
      It irked me to no end libs in the eastern MA cities would decide on hunting and wildlife laws they knew nothing about. Peoples’ homes, farms, and businesses were completely flooded and ruined because of the beavers as well.

        I had a friend living on Cape Cod (near Brewster). He watched a coyote carry away one of his cats in broad daylight. There was a report of a coyote approaching a small child in a backyard too. We researched it at the time, and they are protected, so you aren’t allowed to shoot them. I read that the state was in consternation because they were eating protected bird species on one of the islands.

          The deer population in places was slowly dying of disease and starvation because there were no wolves to keep the population down. They formed a hunt with approved hunters, and were donating the meat to homeless shelters, and veterans orgs. There were people there in their leather sandals etc. protesting! Did they think the shoe companies waited for the cows to die a happy death of old age! They have never seen how a wild animal dies. It’s better to be shot with one clean shot, than be sick, starving, and attacked by foxes and coyotes while still alive and suffering.

          If I remember correctly about the lion Don Jr shot: It was an older lion the preserve allowed to be shot rather than suffer and die. They charged a lot of money to hunt it, then use that money to take care of the other preserve animals.

          These people do not think at all. They would be the 1st to euthanize their pets if they were old, or sick, or inconvenient . They abort their unborn children without concern.

            We had a similar situation with deer in the area where my office was located (lots of woodland). The city tried to organize a hunt, and the outcry by the tree huggers was unbelievable! I had two near misses with deer driving home from work, and because people put out food for them, the deer weren’t as afraid of humans as they should have been.

            ADD: The coyote only has one real predator – the wolf. Same as the deer – their populations grow because the predator population is decimated.

          Folks were getting rescue greyhounds from racing breeders and using them to nail ‘yotes. They’ll chase them down and end their predatory days. When we found their dens we’d empty a large CO2 fire extinguisher into them – they go to sleep and never wake up. Worst thing was their crossbreeding with domestic dogs that were out running and making coy-dogs, they were a real problem.

          I would not care to live in a state where shooting coyotes was illegal. I sure hope I don’t. I don’t think so!…….there is a wandering coyote in our neighborhood, because we are up against the agricultural reaches of the Willamette Valley. Never any reported problems, just an occasional sighting.

          The geese are terrible in parts of MA! If you have not experienced it, you can’t understand how much of a problem they leave with not being able to set foot on the ground that is covered literally every other inch in places with gross poop! At one place DH worked,they would block the driveway to the building, and if you beeped at them, they would not move, but just honk back – but God forbid you slowly drove forward to move them (they did move then. they did not get run over) – you’d get arrested for animal cruelty!
          I remember years ago a news report about a rabid racoon during the daytime climbed up to the 2nd or 3rd floor of a triple decker in the people’s republic of Brookline I think it was, and went after the children at a birthday party on the balcony. The father beat it with a baseball bat to protect his children. Then he was arrested!

      They’ve probably been there all along, Coyotes are smart….OK, let’s get it over with – wily…and generally hunt at night in urban/suburban areas. I used to be deviled by them in Utah and thought I’d be done with them in NOLA but in ’82/’83 they found a den in the runway grass at the airport (another styory). Since then they’ve been in the news after scaring some early-AM jogger or dining on some suburbanite’s dog/cat.
      I was amazed at their getting across the Mississippi River this far south to populate the East Bank but I guess they did what veveryone else did – took the bridge.

          Mississippi here is 1/2 mile or so wide with a good current and west of us is the Atchafalaya that’s a huge swamp. They can use bridges, they’re smart and there are a number of railroad as well as automobile bridges they can use at night. Also possible the did cross over farther north then move south…or people could have brought some over. Hunt clubs around here have illegally imported Russian boars (yet MORE Russian collusion) which have interbred with local feral hogs and created monsters.

    Who knows? Maybe WordPress is mining our comments, too, and sharing the data with political parties. They can go right on ahead. Maybe they’ll learn something useful. If they’re capable of learning, that is.

    I hope Facebook withers on the vine like Myspace did, and in a few years is remembered like it, or like Altavista or Tripod, relics of the past.

      I have a feeling that blogs with large numbers of views (like CTH) are watched. They wouldn’t necessarily be interested in me.

      An interesting thing that I have noticed. More than two years ago I wrote a post about Sundance, CTH, and Mark Levin. I still get views on that post almost every day. It was in the double digits the past few days.

            And I don’t mind.

            Open your Google Maps app on your phone. Tap the hamburger menu at the top. Tap your timeline. Tap the month you want to look at. Look where you’ve been.

            You might be surprised or scared. You might be like me and say “I don’t care.”

            Last summer, I was smoking a cigarette on my fire escape. I had three quadrotor drones, at the edge of the parking lot, hovering in a triangle pattern. Two other drones were flying circles around the parking lot, and above me.

            I don’t know why. I took video of them all with my phone camera, but it’s so shaky as to be useless, because I was inebriated. I was stunned. I’d never seen five drones at once, including two with actual wings doing circles above me, while the other three were stationary about 200 yards away.

            That actually happened. I don’t know why. I don’t care.

            It was certainly weird to witness.

          No, you can’t tell (at least with the software I have available), but there is a report from WordPress that tells you how many people are visiting from different countries. (How many from USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, etc)

          If a person leaves a comment, I can see the IP address.

            Funny thing, when I was living in Canada, my IP address said I was in the city where basically only the provincial mental institution is located even though I actually was 50KM away. Family and friends have never let me live that down.

            Interestingly, when I was on Twitter there was a super interesting fellow who followed me. We had some great conversations. One day he told me he liked to know who the people really are that follow him. He’d purchased some software that allowed him to bypass Twitter’s security to find out each person’s private info behind the moniker. I didn’t know whether to believe him or not; so I blocked him. Talk about scary!

    Every race and ethnicity, of course, has handsome and beautiful members. The Saudi prince falls into the handsome category, IMO. His eyes are so alive.

    Several years ago I spent a lot of time at the local mall because that’s where the library was…and also a very good food court…LOL! Every once in a while I’d do a little mental exercise…see if anyone truly beautiful came into view…male or female…and observe how they acted. In the years I did that, I saw no females and only two males. Plenty of attractive people but that’s separate from physical beauty. A man or woman can be almost homely yet very attractive because of attitude, intelligence and aliveness. But beauty is rare.

    The Somali cop in Minneapolis who shot and killed the woman who called 911 last summer has been arrested. Sometimes things go the way they need to. We’ll see what the level of public intelligence is and if the system can proces justice on this place holder.

      Thanks Col. Spot on. It is all really very simple. President Trump is an unknown to the Left, the Right and the Middle.

      Trump played a tremendous hand of poker. He hoodwinked all of them. They knew that he was not one of them but they never thought that he could not be bought, blackmailed, bullied or coerced into playing their game. Citizen Trump, after he was a billionaire, said that it was not about the money but about the game. That is where Trump gets his mental acuity, his encouragement, in out playing, out maneuvering, and out smarting his opponents.

      There is no one who ever took on the Clinton/Obama cabal. They all cowed to them and most still do, Heck most including that bastard Paul Ryan want to see Trump fail and the Obama/Clinton era return, they are not normal people with normal human connections, they don’t have love for their children only ambitions for their own power and wealth .

      They still don’t know what to do about President Trump, they are still using their old cheat sheets and waiting for the right trick to work. The failure of their plans can clearly be seen in the Left’s perpetual gasping and crying that President Trump is going to fire Mueller. The Left is hoping and dreaming that President Trump fires Mueller. Mueller has hired all partisan hacks, Mueller is a long time Clinton friend, Mueller is where he is because of his good friend James “Lying Leaking” Comey. We know this. Think how much more President Trump knows. Mueller is begging to be fired, but President Trump is demanding that Mueller lay his cards on the table.

      The Left knows that there is nothing against Trump in the Russian investigation. At best they are hoping for process crimes. They refuse to lay their Mueller card down on the table because they are bluffing while holding nothing, not even a pair of twos, meanwhile President Trump is holding a Straight Flush.

      Suck it up losers.

      Let the dervishes whirl.
