    Hello, Insomnia here. Watching “Who’s Line” doesn’t help of course. Today’s painting is: “Tending the Geese” by the Irish artist Mildred Anne Butler

    Mildred Anne Butler (1858-1941) was an Irish artist, who painted landscapes, genre & animal subjects in watercolours & oils. Butler was born & spent most of her life in Kilmurry, Thomastown, County Kilkenny. Her range of work was dominated by nature & her subject matter reflected the scenes of domesticity surrounding her Kilmurry home. Butler’s house was a huge source of inspiration throughout her life.
    While in Paris she became associated with the Newlyn school & spent two summers in Newlyn, Cornwall. Newlyn at that time was the centre for a group of artists who were interested in plein-air subjects, many of whom had previously studied in France. Describing her habit of painting in the open air, rare at the time, critics said it gave an animated freshness & realism to the painting. Paintings such as Meditation (1889) were considered revolutionary by the art establishment. Butler’s quirky painting titles, [Meditation for a group of cows], show her playful sensibility.

    She achieved distinction in her lifetime & exhibited in major galleries in Ireland & England. Butler continuously exhibited throughout her career & proved herself to be a keen business woman capable of marketing her watercolours successfully with patrons such as Queen Mary of Teck & Louis IV, & the Grand Duke of Hesse. She was a member of the Society of Lady Artists, one of the first nine academicians elected by the Ulster Academy of Arts in 1930, & granted full membership into the Royal Watercolour Society in 1937, having been an associate member since 1896.

      Well, Obama’s favorite “ClockBoy” got his clock cleaned in the court as he got thrown out and City of Irving is suing for court costs, etc…..but he got to visit Obama in the White House…as would have Travon Martin if he had not been the dead son that Obama would have had if he were a heterosexual male with an actual woman for a wife…but…Obama gathered all the misfits to the WH to laud their lack of patriotic Americanism……

      while Hillary falls about India insulting American Women, slides down stairs, and breaks a wrist slipping in the lavish marble bathtub in the resort palace she was staying in India while she continued to seek blame parties for the fact she was born and is a failure in all things living today….

    Eight days peeps….I have eight days to finish the renovation work on my house and I am draggin’….but I now have miles of wood that needs to be cleaned, oiled, waxed and a houseful of carpets that need to be cleaned and yes, I’m still working on the miles of caulking.

    Was at the bank yesterday with the electrician contractor and presented him with my “blue prints”.
    Very exciting….the bank vault will become electrified for the first time in its 100 year existence and everything is progressing nicely.

    I took a shot of some of the out of control teenagers in my new neighborhood….Looks like I might have to look into being a crosswalk monitor……

        I agree. The other thing was that neither Sven (with the box on his head) never once broke character or cracked up. How does one do that? I cannot do practical jokes that involve me speaking, ever. If it’s funny, I can’t help but giggle.

        YouTube and Twitter are cracking down on this video (or were when I saw it this morning). Twitter is banning people who link to it, for 12 hours or permanently. Yet all it is is funny.

    I think I’m going to have to quit talking to anyone, it seems as if every time I talk to someone they somehow have ties to a teacher.
    I just made a spouse of a teacher mad when I told them if they didn’t like their salary then they shouldn’t have signed a contract agreeing to it. In our business we can’t sign a contract for a certain price and then come back and say, “well we need more money now.” Most people can’t go to their employer and demand a raise or they won’t work. Their boss will fire them.
    How can anyone expect these kids to learn about consequences when the people teaching them think they should be able to demand and get what they want without any consequences?
    These stupid politicians trying to appease them are stupid.

      you should hear the conversations in the teacher’s lounge at school….not about education at all…about the administration stupids and the pay and benefits….by a bunch of people with 3 months off in the summer, no less….

        What are they doing gossiping in the teacher’s lounge? I’m told how they only get a 45 minute planning period and that time is taken up calling parents and DHS and the rest of their day is in the classroom trying to educate our children. Then they have to take all this work home every night that they don’t get paid for.

        As for the summer I’m told they don’t get off in the summer, they’re contracts are only for 10 months, so they don’t get paid summer vacations. As a matter of fact they don’t get vacations at all to hear them tell it. Those two weeks at Christmas, that week in the fall, and the week in spring doesn’t count.

          don”t believe it….they give out multiple choice worksheets for class work, and only grade based on how many got answered, or have a student check the answers via a template. No one takes work home anymore, and the work is all class driven…all attendance reporting is just computer notation of absences from an on line roster, and the lunch is 40 minutes, but not used for calling parents as most parents are at work during the day, and the parent calls for discipline are usually a counselor or an asst principal call. Many actually eat together in a common room during their planning or their lunch period, which are usually coordinated by STEM subject as to periods off or cafeteria….all rooms have teacher furnished refrigerators and microwaves…..and only a few have to use summer for certification reviews…much of that is on line now and done from home. None of the Middle or High School teachers are busting a gut working hard….

          I became a substitute High School teachers to learn the true back stories in our public schools….and it ain’t pretty.

          Now, the classes are way overcrowded, the supply funding too sparce, the testing load is insane, and the rules are foolish….and from one third to one half may not speak English as a first language, and many not at all, and that included Farsi, French, Igbo, Spanish, various Asian languages, and Lord knows what else.

            I remember many years ago that in some of the border states, and maybe others, a lot of the teachers were illegals who don’t speak English. They were teaching the illegal students……..ta, da…….English. No wonder the kids don’t learn. I imagine that is still going on today. Or, maybe they don’t even bother with English.

              That’s so stupid.

              With the way public schools are today I don’t know why anyone would want to send their kids there. I get some can’t stay home and homeschool and some can’t afford private schools or homeschooling. However, it’s getting much cheaper to homeschool and now there are many online public schools that are free. They’re still funded by the government but if my only choice was the online public school and sending my child to a school where I can’t monitor what crazy crap they’re putting in their heads, I’d choose the online version.

            Most of these teachers aren’t teaching in big schools, so their classes are small. For instance the one who wrote the letter and was so proud of it that she posted it teaches at a school that had a graduating class last year of 46 students. The elementary has two classes per grade, so 20 something kids max per class. Junior high and HS the class sizes are even smaller. She has been teaching for 5 years and makes $31,000 per year that’s excluding insurance which the state pays for her. Maybe that doesn’t sound like much to a lot of people, but in Oklahoma that is not something to sneeze at because the cost of living is much less than many other states. Insurance costs the state or I should say the taxpayers an average of $8400 per year per teacher. From what I’ve been told by them they also will get a decent retirement provided for them once they’ve taught X number of years. They don’t like to include that in what they get either.
            I also know her particular school pays more if they coach, drive a bus, work in the after school program, etc. They also get lots of free perks all the time like free tickets to hockey and basketball games, area restaurants that have free or discounted nights for teachers.

            I don’t believe a thing any of them say, I’ve volunteered many times at area schools and I subbed for awhile.

            I have a neighbor who is a crazy right winger like me that works in the cafeteria. She’s fit to be tied that they included support workers in their demands. She refuses to join the union and she can’t stand 90% of the teachers.

        I’ve been shooting off e-mails and phone calls all week to all the Republicans who are just as stupid as the democrats imho. One of the smartasses I talked to on the phone told me that they can’t just fire them if they walk out. I told her to quit calling it a walk out, if they’re all running to OKC and not doing their jobs it’s not a walk out it’s a strike. So I asked why they couldn’t and she said, “it’s simple they’re under contract.” So I asked her if it was a one sided contract? After all this back and forth for awhile I finally got ticked off and asked her since when are the people answering the phone supposed to argue with you instead of just passing on your concerns. That maybe I would start looking into who had gotten money from OEA, so I would know who were selling out taxpayers to a damn union.

        Most of these teachers don’t have a clue what they’re walking out for, but they’re like the children they’re supposed to be educating and wanting to be a part of the crowd. They just follow along blindly. When I asked one of them why their union said even the 12% pay raise wasn’t enough and would not stop them from walking out, why teachers were agreeing to this? She said it was not true they would be happy with any pay raise.

        You should see some of them who are blowing up all over FB, it is literally like reading a 6 year old. It takes forever to figure out what they’re saying, 90% of them can’t even spell education. They keep harping on how they deserve to be paid for all they do and they deserve to be paid because they worked hard to get their degree and certification. (Most can’t spell certification either) I agree with the guy who commented to one of them that if they’re giving degrees out to people who can’t spell as well as his 8 year old home schooled daughter then it can’t be too hard to get a degree in education these days.
        She couldn’t blame auto correct either because she had a picture of a letter she had sent to her Senator. It was really bad, misspelled words, no punctuation, letters not capitalized.

        These are not the teachers I had or even the teachers my children had. My daughter took a screenshot of it and posted: For all of you who always want to question why I say I will not send my kids to public school and like to throw the words “proper education” out there. Look at this example of an English teacher and tell me that she can give my children a proper education.

    I had to put down my older beagle this morning. She turned 15 in January, but her heart failure was getting worse, lasix made her incontinent and she was just tired. They didnt even give her the full dose before she expired so it was definitely time. This was beagle number 5 in 4 years, plus my cat. I have a 12 year old beagle left.
    Kiddo said goodbye but he isnt sad in the way I am.

    OMG OMG Martha MacCallum just chewed up and spit out one of the lawyers that illegal that killed Kate Steinly has working for him. I wish I knew how to get the clip. The charges are from the Fed Gov about him having a gun and having a gun as an illegal. They are saying the charges are politically motivated and they want them dropped. But Martha pointed out that there is plenty of evidence showing he is guilty. LOL

    I’ve never understood why we need everything written in anything but English in stores or why I have to push 1 for English. I certainly have never understood why people who can’t read English should be allowed to vote. Well outside of democrats need the votes that is.

      I help. I call the cops or something. Years ago I read a story about a young woman who felt sorry for the young woman on the side of the road hitchhiking. She felt safe because she was a female. Well, down the road the hitcher made her pull over and pick up her………..boyfriend. And, they robbed her and stole her car. She was actually lucky it wasn’t worse.

    Poor Allan Dershowitz is going to sprain his entire body as he turns himself into a human pretzel in order to remain a democrat. He is on Fox admitting that there is absolutely no way McCabe was fired for political reasons.

      I still can’t get over Dershowitz saying just a few months ago he would still vote for Hillery. 😯 He must be getting senile.That he ever would have voted for her still amazes me.

        I have a neighbor that is a fairly nice man, but he’s as dumb as a rock. He collects guns, he calls abortion murder, he hates taxes, he believes public schools are horrible and are teaching children to not believe in God and to think they’re gay or a different sex, yet he votes a straight democrat party line vote.
        I’ve told him more than once you vote for the party that wants to take your guns, wants abortions up to birth, wants to tax you into oblivion, is the reason public schools is what they are, and they’re the party who denied God three times. He always says that is all lies. I think we should all have to take and pass a test before we’re allowed to vote.

        Dershowitz is a classic liberal, he hates the direction of “extremism” as he calls it that the democrat party is going in but he believes in the fundamentals of Kennedy Democratic policies.

        He said just yesterday that he will never leave the democratic party and that the party hasn’t left him, I do hold out some hope for him, I wish I could remember who he was speaking fondly of tonight, whoever it was died two days ago and Dershowitz basically admitted that he himself is not unbiased. That is a big step for him.

        That said, sadly he is still a pro-Hillary, pro-abortion liberal.

    Katrina Pierson comes in with the kill shot, “We have to remember that McCabe was the number 2 at the FBI.”

    Has anyone seen Comey lately? I bet he looks like hell.

    Pierson is out for blood tonight, this is the beginning of the battle being revealed, Pierson is stating that the Comey and McCabe’s goal was a silent coup against a duly elected president. She did not use the word coup but her meaning was clear.

        I did. Andy is playing the victim card. Just imagine what the DOJ has on him. It didn’t leak. Most folks thought it wasn’t going to happen, yet, just like Comey it was a guillotine, swift fast and deft.

          Don’t get me wrong I’m glad he’s gone and I hope he loses more than just his pension. However, there are many more in the FBI, ATF, CIA and DOJ that are just like him and need to be fired immediately as well.

            Wait for it. Katrina Pierson said as much on Fox, just like with his taxes President Trump is crossing his t’s and dotting his i’s. When asked about Page and Strzok Pierson basically said we are adhering to the legal process. They aren’t starting with the little fish.

            I’m so excited I doubt I’ll sleep toning.
