Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull meets with President Trump today, the first visit by a world leader in 2018. Reports are that Turnbull will attempt to convince the President that the USA should rejoin the Trans Pacific Partnership, and that he will sweeten the deal by offering to invest money from Australia’s pension fund in USA infrastructure.
Scheduled for 2:00 pm
I knew the question would come about Australia gun laws. Just to point out: The population of Australia is about 24 million. The population of the USA is 324 million. The land area of Australia is 2.97 million square miles. USA = 3.5 million square miles.
I thought the Australian Prime Minister handled the question quite well. The reporter asked him if he tried to persuade the President to change our gun laws. He wisely pointed out that we have a Constitutional amendment that makes the situation very different here.

I think if we summarize it, he said……………”We are minding our own business.”

I think it was a little more than that, but I could be wrong. He made a point of saying that the law wasn’t passed under his watch.
