The world is loud and boisterous,
But God is quietness and a still small voice
(In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. Isiah 30:15)

Good evening Lburg – don’t know how I missed your reply! It’s a silly, definitely 80’s song I’ve not heard before! Have a good night 😉

Good morning to you, Lburg! The doggie in the photo looks to be an English Bull Terrier. Here’s a great article setting the record straight on a famous English Bull Terrier who apparently did not wear sunglasses…

~… Here’s a cute dog I had not heard of before for Doggity Day 🙂
Berger Picard, also known as the Picardy Shepherd, the Berger Picard dog breed is thought to be the oldest of the French sheepdogs. His scruffy looks and lively intelligence have won him plenty of fans over the centuries, and more recently, they’re winning him movie roles. The Berger Picard picks up training easily but can have a stubborn streak.
Dog Breed Group: Herding Dogs, Height: 1 foot, 9 inches to 2 feet, 1 inch tall at the shoulder, Weight: 50 to 70 pounds, Life Span: 13 to 14 years

Get to Know the Berger Picard: Not as Mixed Up as He Looks! You probably saw him in “For the Love of Winn Dixie” — but did you know he was a purebred impersonating a mutt? by Caroline Coile Dec 22nd 2014
More interesting things about the Berger Picard – Berger (pronounced bare-ZHAY) means “shepherd,” and Picard (pronounced pee-CARR) refers to the region of France the dog is from. The breed is also known as the Picardy Shepherd. Dogs resembling today’s Berger Picard are depicted as early as the 14th century, and they may be the oldest of the French sheepdogs. Some claim they came to France with Celtic invaders as early as 400 BC.
World Wars I and II decimated the breed as fighting took place around their farmlands, and food rationing didn’t allow for feeding large dogs. Breeders searched Picardy after World War II for dogs to rebuild the breed, and in the early 1950s found the dogs that would become the foundation of the modern Picard.
In 2002 Hollywood producers cast the breed in the starring role of the movie Because of Winn Dixie. They needed several dogs that looked alike that could all play the single role of a mixed breed, and they imported five Picards from France. Picards have also appeared in the movies Daniel and the Superdogs and Are We Done Yet?

herding dogs are so bright and full of energy….they exist to be active doing something. I have come to really understand and love them from my rescue Aussie Cattle Dog, Bruno.

The top pic is really interesting because you have a beach scene that looks like an artist then took a brush with white, black, and tan paint, and went smoosh, smoosh, smoosh, but you know exactly what it is even without a face – and you smile 🙂

The Westminister Kennel Club’s annual dog show at Madison Square Gardens is on Monday and Tuesday nights. I tried to set my DVR to record it, but apparently I don’t get the two channels it will be on, NatGeo Wild and FS1. Hope I can find a live stream and watch online. I love seeing all the breeds–202 of them. Such great dogs.

I forget if it is this club show or another, but you can go onto the kennel club website and see all of the breeds. Check it out 🙂 They probably have it the day after on youtube as well. Good to hear from you 🙂

Two articles from Jihad Watch’s Robert Spencer today regarding truly heroic women, not these phony U.S. p-hat marchers….
“Islamic Republic of Iran: Woman arrested for removing hijab refuses to repent despite facing 10 years in prison”
Narges Hosseini is an actual feminist. Where are the feminists of the West speaking up for her right not to wear the hijab? Linda Sarsour? Anyone?
