If you’re stuck on a Helsinki layover at the Helsinki, Finland (HEL) Vantaa Airport, you’re in good shape as far as airports are concerned. After all, there’s tons to do, and the airport was named one of the Top 10 Airports In The World. The airport is located 3 miles from Vantaa city center and 10 miles north of Helsinki city center which makes exploring the nearby areas very accessible for those stuck on a long layover.

They pulled 4 more teeth. But, she still has her molars in the back. I don’t know how long she will keep them with the way they tend to get bad.
She’s home and not feeling very well. She got a shot of morphine right after it was over. I think she is hungry, but maybe sick at her stomach. It’s hard when you really can’t do anything to help.

She still has her molars. The vet wants me to keep her on dry food after her mouth heals completely. I was surprised by that.
I think once her mouth heals she is going to feel a whole lot better than she has in a long time. I now think that her rubbing her face on the floor like she was wasn’t her eyes, it was her mouth bothering her. This female vet had a baby and was out on maternity leave. I think we might have caught this earlier if she had been at work because she noticed it as soon as she looked at her this time.

There is a beautiful old Italian Trapeze (swing carousel) at Knoebel’s park in Pennyslvania. It’s a really great family park and the ‘swing’ as I call it is one of the granddaughter’s favorite rides.

Actually, it has almost been an ongoing investigation that keeps going dormant and then popping back up. They just can’t seem to do anything with it. I don’t know what happened to her, but it was no accident.

So, during the time Wagner was supposedly killing his wife, what was Christopher Walken doing? What was the captain doing? The captain says he came onto the deck when Wagner and Wood were having a drunken argument and claims Wagner killed her but he didn’t see it or hear it. He also claims that Wagner and Wagner’s attorney forced him not to tell the police anything.
So the captain has evidence and refuses, without being threatened bodily harm, to tell the police? Highly unlikely. What was he afraid of..that he’d lose his job? Only later when he wrote a book did he tell this story.
The police sergeant handling the case at the time for LAPD said that he would never cover for a celebrity or for anyone and that he doesn’t care about status but about human beings. Yes, Wagner was a loved celebrity, but so was Simpson and others of local celebrity who killed family members. Can anyone prove that the police sergeant was bribed? Has anyone even suggested it? No.
The exact circumstances of Wood’s death aren’t known but, IMO, it was nothing but an accident. Wood was notoriously afraid of the ocean or of any body of water. If a person with phobias has been drinking and falls in the water, panic ensues. That’s what happened. She was a small woman, it would take but a minute or two to drown. Tragic but not murder because there’s no evidence of murder.

I can swim. I remember once, though, that I panicked when I jumped off a swim platform, and was flailing around until a couple of minutes later I realized I could touch bottom. PS: I had been drinking but wasn’t drunk. I think people die of drowning because of panic more often that is recognized.

Yeah, I remember way back that there were all sorts of special dispensations according to area. Louisiana and New Orleans have some too, but then the classical French grocery list has always been sort of….interesting and adventurous.

BTW, both alligator and frogs are kosher (?) during Lent in Louisiana per a decision by the Church. Good idea as alligator’s as flexible as chicken when it comes to porep…deep fries into a super sub for fried chicken too.

Frogs need a good dip/sauce and someone else to take their little frog clothes off and cook’em. If the times get bad we have bullfrogs here that have legs the size of those you usually find in TV dinners.

I think this essay basically says that our Intel agencies grew larger than the President, and now realize they need his protection as CEO.

Congress, as a co-equal, popularly elected branch of government, may hold or release such information as it chooses, and pay such attention as it chooses to the President’s opinions. Thus far, the Constitution.
Our Intel agencies, our Deep State, has been bigger than the POTUS for many decades.
No more. Nobody’s pulling Trump’s strings.

eah, I’ve been noticing both yesterday and today the MSM’s bowing to the inevitable and ratcheting up their efforts to explain how the memo’s a work of Republican partisanship by a Trump-biased Republican. We’re told it doesn’t mean anything since it wasn’t a bipartisan work, how its conclusions are flawed as the items used to justify the ‘inquiries’ by Federal agencies were also verified by other intelligence and LEA (though their inquiries/results are classified), how releasing this flawed piece of political theater will decrease public trust in the FBI (???) and other red herring attempts to mislead the public.
The Left knows this memo will hurt when it’s released so they’re out desperately trying to spin the narrative and cushion the blow before it hits. If Trump can clean out JUST the FBI and return it to a nonpolitical investigative agency instead of militarized political enforcement tool.

…he will have accomplished the single most important thing of his presidency. The Bureau oversees the US intelligence agencies and is supposed to ensure their compliance with US law and their charters so just cleaning up/out the Bureau will go a long way to moving us back towards a democracy.

Small thing. I was watching one of the cats sitting in the window ledge and looking out into the back yard. He was in full ‘sitting vertical stretch’; ears, whiskers and nose all pointed and converging on something and he was making little mew sounds. I looked out the window and walking across the lake shore at a moderate pace was a goodly size grey fox, large field rat hanging from its mouth. Things calmed down as the fox disappears into the brush and woods to the west.
About 5 minutes later we’re back to the mew sounds, I look out the window and there’s a smaller second grey fox moving across the lakefront in the same direction, rat in mouth. So it looks as if I’m down two rats and plus two foxes. Can’t help but wonder if they’re a mated pair and I now have a family in the making.

I think I posted a while back of the Latin/South American love of various rodents. I had to go to the co-op for some fence wire clips today and they had cages of guinea pigs…couldn’t help thinking of Andes furry chicken.

I had an absolutely exquisite full length gray fox coat back in the 70s. But after receiving so much flack, I was afraid to wear the thing. Thought about making it into pillow covers which was all the rage at the time, but eventually gave it to a charity fundraiser. Let the next owner worry about getting doused with paint.

I used to wear my 60s flight parka with the wolf fur collar just praying someone would try to throw paint on me but living in largely ‘redneck’ areas in Utah and Louisiana made those chances rather slim.

We have a red tailed hawk lives near the end of our driveway. Sometimes I see it when I’m leaving for work & it is catching something for breakfast.

We have a couple of hawks that live here around our little lake. Day before yesterday I heard one and looked up to the top of the tree that was bare and one sat right at the peak. It was looking down, I thought at me, but probably at my little doggie. 😯 Yikes.

I’ve seen a couple of those guys too. The really cool one’s are the Blue Heron’s that roost around our creek. They will scare the caca out of you when you’re driving by one. 😯

We have those, too, along with white herons. They walk around the lake hunting frogs, snakes, fish and such. They make an ugly “Gronk” sound!
