Well y’all, I have completed my biggest job ever. Finished It Monday, took about 4 days. Completely primed and painted a house, stained floors, stenciled a lovely faux gilded inlay pattern, then poly’d the floors, striped a wall in a bedroom, and papered an accent wall in the great room.

Did a faux brick exterior that looks astounding.

I sure hope my granddaughter loves her doll house. It has hours and hours of hard work in it. Today I tackle the actual work of my life left to do before Christmas, which piled up big time while I played doll house.

The countdown begins, for me at least. Will the crazy, frazzled, tired woman get themshopping, cleaning, cooking, and all the wrapping done between coffee time and Jack time?

Will she get to Friday Adoration and remember the reason for all this work? I’ll have another coffee, please. I’m tired already!

    Good Morning Everyone 🙂
Today’s picture is Musical Angel by William Morris – a stained glass panel. I have always loved stained glass art. This is from St. James Church in Cumbria UK. From the website www victorianweb org. Photograph by P. Neil Ralley. P. Neil Ralley has most generously shared information, images, and text from his Stained Glass Photography site with readers of the Victorian Web. I am so sorry to have missed so many great posts while recuperating. I especially like the Christmas music. I am looking to buy cd’s of Christmas music by Perry Como etc., and choral/orchestra classical songs. Does anyone have favorites?
BTW Menagerie did you write the post you were thinking of? Did I miss it? How did you have time while doing all that house painting?! HAHAHA 😉

I am doing better as long as I am careful how I move, and don’t lift anything much heavier than a cup of coffee! My abdomen injury is affecting eating etc, and will take a few more months(!) to heal the doc said, but it will heal :-). I am hoping no more tests or any surgery will be necessary. The constant pain has subsided, so I can get sleep, and that is most recuperative. It’s weird – I did not think what I was doing was that unusual, but I obviously did something wrong! So everyone PLEASE be very aware and careful when moving heavy objects – even if it’s something you have done in the past. Thanks to all!

Just saw a story about making stained glass gingerbread house windows out of melted Jolly Rancher candies. Melt in separate cups then pour 2-3 colors at a time into a candy mold shaped like the window you want. Found instructions for melting at sugartownsweets.com

Very cool! We made stained glass cookies when the girls were little, we smashed up some kind of hard candy and put it inside of empty spaces in cutout sugar cookies then baked them in an oven and let the candy melt. They looked really pretty but were inedible as the candy seemed to just wrap around your teeth and stay stuck there. Melting Jolly Ranchers sounds like a better way to go!

I am pretty good at cookies, cakes, and pies. I have a long history of failure with gingerbread houses. Tried it again last week with a sick third grade grandson. Yep, still suck at it.

Money was always tight when our kids were little. I would buy all the stuff to make the houses over the course of weeks, especially all the candy. The oldest and youngest would mostly eat their pile as they went along, then eat the house. Middle son would hoard his candy, guard it from the other two who were left with nothing much after eating their own, and save the danged house until I threw it away around Lent.

Of course, after the first disaster I found this article that showed how “easy” it was to make the houses out of graham crackers, so that’s what we did for years. Not much better, except you didn’t have as much blood, sweat, and tears in it when the blasted thing collapsed.

We used graham crackers from the get go. So it wasn’t a complete loss as at least I could eat them with my tea after the fiasco of “Red skittles look stupid on the door!” “No! The gumdrops are too big!”

Money was tight for us also, we home schooled so I could justify it as learning experience of ratios, scale etc. Of course it ended up being a lesson in my not pulling my hair out instead.

Judge Declares Mistrial in Bundy Case After Documented Government Conspiracy Against the Family is Revealed

    http://www.dcclothesline.com/2017/12/21/judge-declares-mistrial-in-bundy-case-after-documented-government-conspiracy-against-the-family-is-revealed/
Just days after a shocking whistleblower complaint from a leading BLM investigator, a federal judge has declared a mistrial in the case against the Bundy family who have been accused of leading a 2014 standoff with the government over cattle grazing rights.

The judge, Chief U.S. District Court Judge Gloria Navarro, admonished the prosecution for specifically (and most likely purposefully) failing to turn over “potentially exculpatory” evidence to the Bundy defense team. Navarro also dismissed the jurors in the case despite seven weeks of testimony from overzealous prosecutors hellbent on taking out the entire Bundy family.

“The judge is obligated to disclose all evidence that might be favorable to defense attorneys,” she said, according to a report in The Washington Times.

New trial scheduled for February in 2014 Nevada standoff.
“It’s a step in the right direction,” Ryan Bundy told reporters outside the Las Vegas courthouse. “So now we’ve got to go through a few more steps and get this properly dismissed. There’s a lot more to do, but we’re glad to have this step done.”

Love Mark Steyn. Well worth the read.
This also brings up the concept being used by those who would destroy us – that these are “mentally ill” people. It does not have anything to do with islam (*). If you demean them, then you demean the mentally ill. If you go to the W.H.O. they have records on the highest rates of mental illness. The highest is Somalia. In islam some imams allow inbreeding, and along with a violent and perverse culture, of course mental illness is rampant. The question is: Why are we letting in people with mental illness that is obvious and/or easy to test for? The ban by President Trump is a good first step, but many of these “mentally ill” people are in Europe now, and can come here from there.
(*)Well I guess that proves that islam along with (new age) liberalism is a mental disorder.

No, bombers & dissidents & haters will start a war. The west has placated the arabs for too long, they do not respect us. Time to stop repeating ourselves. The Great Brain Drain by Mark Steyn Steyn on Culture December 19, 2017

THE DEMOGRAPHIC TRANSFORMATION OF THE WESTERN WORLD IS “THE BIGGEST STORY OF OUR TIME”, and it will indeed determine all the others. A line from America Alone is, the future belongs to those who show up for it. And, if those showing up in America, Britain, Sweden, Austria are dramatically different from the entire history of those polities, then the future will be something of a crap shoot.

For example, this story from my old friends at The Spectator – “Is IQ Falling Across the West?” …the Nordic nations are projected to see national intelligence scores drop by a total of seven points by 2025.” “Something” has “happened”, eh? In 1900 Sweden’s foreign-born population was 0.07 per cent -, of whom all but 300 were from Europe or North America. By 2010 Sweden’s foreign-born population was just under 15 per cent, of whom two-thirds were born outside the EU. In the space of a century, from 1950 to 2050, Sweden will have gone from an homogeneous ethnic state with barely any visible minority population to a land in which ETHNIC SWEDES WILL THEMSELVES BE THE MINORITY.You can’t really do that sort of thing without upending everything. In once boringly placid Sweden, all the indicators are going wacky. Whether or not you’re in favor of wholesale demographic transformation as a matter of public policy, it would seem unlikely that you could accomplish such a thing in a couple of generations without it having some impact on IQ. In fact, it would render any comparative measure of IQ between 1950 Swedes and 2050 Swedes as completely pointless.

According to a 2007 study by the Rockwool Foundation, after ten years in the Danish school system, two-thirds of students with an Arabic background remain functionally illiterate. In Bradford, Yorkshire, 75 PER CENT OF PAKISTANI BRITONS ARE MARRIED TO THEIR FIRST COUSINS, MANY OF WHOM ARE THEMSELVES THE CHILDREN OF FIRST COUSINS. In the new west, why even bother worrying about IQ?

And the more demographic transformation transforms, the more ill-advised it becomes to mention it. Before 9/11, even the BBC was happy to discuss whether the resurgence of rickets in the United Kingdom is due to Muslim dress. Sixteen years later, when UKIP bring it up, it’s cited as proof they’re a laughingstock. A question for Professor Bates is WHETHER A SOCIETY IN WHICH MORE AND MORE SUBJECTS ARE RULED OUT OF PUBLIC DISCOURSE SHOULD EXPECT ITS MEASURES OF INTELLIGENCE TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN HEAD SOUTH – FOR NATIVE AND NON-NATIVE ALIKE. Thus: …the student “clientele” had deteriorated so dramatically over the years that the classroom struck me as a barn full of ruminants and the curriculum as a stack of winter ensilage… The level of interest in and attention to the subjects was about as flat as a fallen arch. The ability to write a coherent English sentence was practically nonexistent; ordinary grammar was a traumatic ordeal. In fact, many native English-speakers could not produce a lucid verbal analysis of a text, let alone carry on an intelligible conversation, and some were even unable to properly pronounce common English words.

      • Honestly, I think the self appointed elites in the West don’t care. As long as they can maintain their little self-proclaimed fiefdoms, it doesn’t matter to them how many parents can’t find a halfway decent school to put their kids in or that the collective IQ of the country goes sliding into the double digits.

A large percentage of Western government officials, and elites who vote in those officials, never have to deal with the consequences of their immigration policies. Their insulation allows them to dictate to their citizens and punish those who don’t toe the party line.

Until Western nations stop this insanity and dissolution of citizen rights, chaos will become an every-day thing and annihilation inevitable.
