We had a drop too. It’s only going to get up to 55 degrees here today.
Note to joshua: Thanks for the birthday wishes, and I’m sorry for my confusing post yesterday. Had czarina not pointed out my lack of clarity, I wouldn’t have realized what I’d done.
As far as numbers go, I’ll take the 74 from yesterday, or the 55 today, either is great for November temperatures. But as for age, I’d like to see 55 again, and am in no hurry for the 70’s birthdays. I will hit 60 early next year though.

Mornin’ Stella, all,
Good to be back stateside, enjoyed the UK very much. London, nice to see once, all of the sites and all, the history, but could live without. Hectic, crowded, flat, busy, diverse (of course). It has its charm, but I am old.
Many miles of tubes, trains, buses and walking about. Good food too, especially the curry. Rarely saw a policeman, yet felt very safe the whole time.
But by far, the time in Scotland was the best. Edinburgh, the castle there and the Royal Mile. Oh my, it held me with it’s weight and majesty.
Beautiful country and the golf! Did get in one round, but on the worst weather day while there, the full Scottish experience apparently, shot 105!
Trip up the coast to St. Andrews, a few castles more, beautiful seaside villages. Really too much to take in the few days we were there. Highly suggest as a bucket list trip, I hope to return again.
Did get to step foot on the 18th at St. Andrews, immaculate, my daughter had to touch the grass to see if it was real or not.

Have a great day y’all, good to see you all up and about. What a fantastic year it’s been, and seems to be only going to get more so, one way or the other, soon.

Airfare was surprisingly cheap if booked in advance, and getting around isn’t too bad as well, lots of public transportation. Lodging I don’t know, but I’d check out Air BnBs. Good deals are great places and I hear Scotland is starting to have more becoming available.

My husband jokes that I spent so much time in Edinburgh castle, they should hire me as a guide, lol. We lived about 15 miles from St. Andrews. I was told that in mediaeval times, over one million people per year made a pilgrimage to St Andrews from Europe. Such a beautiful place! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I won’t tell DH, because he will start craving a curry! I can cook a pretty good curry myself, but it makes the whole house smell like a Pakistani brothel!

Wow, are you Scottish? Can’t even imagine living there, but was inquiring on the needed qualifications to do so.
Always been a fan of blue, even jokingly spout “Crip Blue forever!” on occasion. Do love Chelsea football, the Blues, and golf, and bagpipes… and a country whose national animal is a Unicorn!
Would love to be a descendant of Scotland and may be. Looked through the war memorial listing of Scots who fell in battle, a few with my last name.
Question, is DH your husbands initials? I see DH refereed to on occasion next door, and wondering if you’re the same person. See a DW mentioned a lot, so then I was thinking it’s and anagram.
Anyways, no biggie. BTW way, love the name Jacqueline, even though it’s my ex’s.
Hope you get to return to Scotland, as well as myself.
Cheers!

Morning still is in effect here in the PT zone…so, good A.M. to you, WeeWeed!
Being pretty much a spendthrift on many other items, I’ve never got the habit of coffee drinking…unlike all my friends and relatives who spend humongous amounts of moolah on “Sucks” beverages. A trip to Florence would likely be less expensive.

I like coffee, but could never justify spending moolah every day for it. I will say that coffee in Washington State was generally of a high quality everywhere.

In honor of upcoming Veteran’s Day here are 2 sets of pics. My grandfather served, and was gassed in WW1. He thankfully survived, even with the resulting lung problems, eventually prematurely dying in a fire of smoke inhalation. I often wonder if he could have gotten out if his lungs were not previously damaged by mustard gas. I would have liked to have known him. May his soul rest in peace. The gas masks did not always work properly, but were better than not having them as shown by 1st pic. NHPBS just had a show on Yankee Division in WW1. I can’t remember where it was (it was late at night when I saw it), but the YD in 1918 went back to a location where a battle happened in 1916, and all the dead, decaying bodies were still there. The battlefield trees were stumps or just gone from the utter devastation.
Last one is sleeping in the trenches.

Went to see Let There be Light today. It is a very good movie IMO. My friend and I both enjoyed it a lot. At the end we discovered that the woman who played Kevin Sorbo’s wife in the movie is actually his wife, and the two boys who play their sons are actually their sons. I just thought that was interesting. (No gratuitous sex, blown up buildings, or car chases.)

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
And, Lord, we pray for all the people who have been affected by the earthquakes and hurricanes.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
