The lawyer for the confidential informant who helped the FBI gather evidence that Russian nuclear officials engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion, and money laundering, says that her client was told that the FBI’s report documenting the crimes was included in former President Barack Obama’s daily briefing.
Victoria Toensing confirmed to Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday night that it appears as though Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein, James Comey, Barack Obama, and Eric Holder all knew about the FBI evidence that Russian officials were engaged in criminal activities to corner the market on uranium.

This is an easy POtuS CYA: he was given a briefing on illegal/questionable Russian activities that, as the investigation unrolled, discovered possible ties to people associated with Trump. Common tactic, just reframe the narrative to a more benign form. You’re not saying the boss ordered an investigation of Trump and his Russian dealings…bad; you’re saying you were investigating Russian perfidy and Trump connections popped up. Wax on…guilt off.

That isn’t what was reported at all. This had nothing to do with Donald Trump. It’s about the Uranium One deal.

Right, but drove me to that action. In this case if I were the designated excuser I’d follow the same line, that we were looking at a possible uranium deal that might be of national security interests but as the deal itself seemed on the up-and-up we were waiting for reports from the Department of Energy on any possible impact on projected US uranium needs for the next X-number of years (‘What? You can’t find our reques?).
Our preliminary investigation showed a tenuous relationship between Russian actors and both Clintons but nothing of an actionable nature. The POtuS was advised of this so that he could take vwhatever steps he felt necessary, if any, in regards to his SecState being remotely and indirectly connected. Ongoing briefings on the deal were given with information on how 3rd parties were redefinig the SecState’s tenuous and accidental involvement for political reasons possibly designed to destabilize the POtuS’s position.
The individual actor’s being briefed were briefed only as the sale may have involved matters of nationalsecurity and energy policies. Their knowledge allowed them to stay abreast of a developing situation so they could provide real time input as to possible ramifications the deal may have on present and future US energy needs.
