Yeah, they generally all get along eventually. Ours are at the point where the Lab and Collie mixes slime the Russian Blue unmercifully, she’ll be so dog spit encrusted at times she’s crunchy but she just puts up with it. Outside cat can be seen playing leisurely chase with the terrierists…all one big fur sheeding family.

Goat-Herding Dog Refused To Abandon Flock Amid Firestorm, Miraculously Survived
http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2017/10/16/odin-would-not-abandon-his-flock-as-firestorm-approach/
With the deadly flames of the Tubbs Fire bearing down on his property, Roland Tembo Hendel knew it was time to round up his family, dogs and cats flee.
But there simply was no room for the family’s flock of goats.
“By 11:10 we could see the first of the flames across the valley,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “By 11:15 they were growing larger and the winds went mad. We had loaded up the dogs and cats, but Odin, our stubborn and fearless Great Pyrenees would not leave the goats.”
Odin — living up to the Norse god he is named after — would not abandon the flock.
So the family reluctantly and with heavy hearts, watched Odin was they were departing, hoping they would see him again but knowing it was likely he would not survive.
“Even under the best of circumstances it is nearly impossible to separate Odin from the goats after nightfall when he takes over the close watch from his sister Tessa,” Hendel wrote. “I made a decision to leave him, and I doubt I could have made him come with us if I tried.” …

We decided that dogs needed equal time! Tucker is starting to look like that dog up top. He’s eight months old now and 37 pounds of almost solid muscle.

Yay. Dog person myself. Allergic to cat dander. Walk into my brothers home and bam! No Bueno. 5 cats who seem to know this and automatically jump onto my lap.
What breed is Tucker? And is that a pic of Stella as the header?

Tucker is a Brittany (like the header pic), but that is an unknown dog in the pic. Here’s Tucker:

Ohhhh. Now I get it, “dog up top”. Thought you meant little dog on top of big dog.
Was thinking ok, may need a bigger bottom dog if Tucker is 37 pounds! Haha.

He has grown so much! He’s a handsome fella, just want to hug him!

He’s still pretty rowdy – and it’s more pronounced at his size and weight. Knock on wood, he’s house trained (and still using his bell to ask to go out), but he grabs and chews whatever he can get his teeth on, and is a terrible counter surfer and, at his height, can reach a lot. I lock him out of the kitchen unless I’m watching.

young working breed dogs have to overcome a lot to start to “settle” and get all adultified.
But they make me laugh at their antics, every since I decided to love my dogs more than my “stuff”…..

I worry more about him eating something poison, or electrical, or that will get stuck in his intestines – not so much about “stuff”.

Tucker looks like a rascal. Like he is always thinking. Such a pretty boy.

He is always thinking. He is pretty smart, and learns quickly (when he wants to).

I still love that he rings a bell to go outside 🙂 .

Me too, except that he will use it to get my attention even if he doesn’t want to go out. I make him go outside anyway.

My dog just paces in front of the door. She does it when she has to go out, when I sit down to eat and when I’m on the phone.

Mine just sits about 2 feet in front of me and stairs into my eyes intently.

Mine will poke me with her toes if I don’t move fast enough 🙂 .

Now, my crazy Border Collie would have lept in, got the stick, and smelled like fish! The first time she dove off a dock, she was 7 weeks old.

That’s how my mom’s chocolate Lab was she swam everyday for years. Up until she was about 12 she would fetch a tennis ball out of the lake for hours if you could throw it that long.

The pic reminds me of going pheasant hunting on opening day, long ago in North English, Iowa.
We ate at a hunter themed restaurant with lots of dog and game bird pics on the wall. The restrooms were labeled, “Pointers” and “Setters”.

Brittany dogs are great for bird hunting.

This is one of my childhood dogs, she ran into our open garage one day when she was about 4 months old. Somehow I convinced my mom to have the groomer shave her to look like a lion for the summer months.
