Howdy all, I’m just a lurker, have been for a couple years. My name is Snarl (it really is)

Col. sir, in 2013 I was diagnosed with end stage liver disease. There was cirosis(sp), but no cancer. It came as a huge surprise since none of the usual causes were found, guess I wuz just lucky. I went down from 180 lbs to 118 lbs in about 5 months. Literally a still not quite dead skeleton. My last prescription was for 6 days, they didn’t think I’d make it a whole week.

You find out who your friends are… and really aren’t. At some point you have to come to peace with what’s probably going to happen, that’s a weird place to go. You have to seek forgiveness for all that crap you did and ask for forgiveness from them’s who you didn’t want a damned thing to do with for the past xx years and still don’t want to (for me it was the I hate my mother thingy). Gotta though.

There’s a few other things, but I think we all get to those places via different rabbit holes. Once you’re there a peace like you never felt will come upon you. All fear is gone. Prayer becomes what you live on. Talk about some damned good comfort food!

And then in my case *it* happened. I started getting better. Started eating real food. Managed to finesse (fell) my way down our stairs and sat outside looking at the lillac’s starting, ever so slightly, to form flower buds. I never wanted to live to see some flowers bloom so bad just once more before or since.

My doctors called me the miracle man. They had specialists from all over the country try to figure out how I could possibly have healed from a terminal disease. Nobody else ever has done this without a transplant and drugs… lots and lots of drugs. $teve Job$ with hi$ billion$ couldn’t buy hi$ way out of it even after two tran$plant$. And why me? I have no answer for that.

Our family will add you to our prayer list, and if you just want to BS vervinw@gmail.com works. If I was a bettin’ man I’d put it all on you making it too.

You really gotta come to NOLA in the spring for the Tennessee Williams festival;. Top spot in it, to me, is the day dedicated to the various…individuals…who compete for a small prize by standing underr a balcony at the Pontalba and trying, in one form or another, to duplicate Brando’s line. Interesting assortment of…contestants…yell, project, fall over drunk for judges on the balcony. NOLA’s liberal open continer law takes the edge off.

Jessica Chambers case ended in a mistrial, let’s see if the state will refile or just let it die on the vine.
Local news interestingly interjected that no one knows why the jurors voted as they did, whether the state failed to present its case adaquately or ‘if there were jury intimidation’. Interesting they mentioned intimidation right out of the box.
Local lawyer was on talking about the case, wondering why the judge didn’t poll the jury and, if it were just one or two jurors, have them go back and deliberate. Didn’t help that the lawyer talked about how Mississippi requires a unanimous verdict while Louisiana will convict on ten out of 12. Don’t know why this lawyer said that as the Chambers trial was a capital case and Louisiana does not require a unanimous jury in criminal cases (10 out of 12 jurors need agree) but in capital ones does require a unanimous jury.
** Just in – judge says he will retry Tellis again but as Tellis has a murder indictment in Louisiana too will Mississippi cut their losses and extradite him?

Apparently it was a mad house, the jury foreman read a not guilty verdict but when the judge pooled the jurors some of the jurors said “guilty” so the judge sent them back to deliberate and they came back an hour later deadlocked.

      http://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/local/2017/10/16/jessica-chambers-trial-jury-appears-confused-cant-agree-verdict/767413001/

The deadlock came from a misunderstanding of the jury instructions, officials said. The instructions said that a guilty verdict had to be unanimous, but didn’t directly say that about a not guilty verdict. It appeared the jury thought since they couldn’t unanimously decide that Tellis was guilty, that made him not guilty.

^ ^ This is an incorrectly worded report 🙄the not guilty reading came from stupidity not the deadlock.

Apparently some of the jurors truly are Quinton’s peers.

So far we’re hearing various interpretations of what happened, I presume the official and accepted version will appear shortly. I’m still interested in why the local mouthpiece would bring up the topic of jury intimidarion…hmmmmm.
Let’s see how they plan on sliding this one under the covers, I think it’s 50/50 that they’ll extradite as Louisiana’s better at convicting…just look at our jail and prison stats.

          One version.

Judge declares mistrial in Jessica Chambers case after confused jury comes up with split not guilty verdict

          http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/mistrial-declared-chambers-case-instructions-botched-article-1.3568560

The confusion started when the 12-person panel informed Judge Gerald Chatham that they had agreed on a verdict. At one point, a clerk in the Batesville courtroom read what was believed to be the final verdict for Quinton Tellis: Not guilty.

Tellis’ relatives smiled, while Chambers’ loved ones cried.

However, it was soon discovered that the jury was actually split. When they were polled, seven jurors had said the believed Quinton Tellis was guilty, and five had said not guilty.

The jury had been instructed that all 12 of them must agree on a guilty verdict. However, instructions did not state that the panel of seven black jurors and five white jurors also must unanimously agree on a not guilty verdict.

What did they think ? Seems there should be a basic competency test for folks to sit on a jury.

I remember the civil trials. Almost anyone with any excuse could get out of jury duty so I had my suspicions that the lure of a few easy bucks, some free donuts and lunch and one of the first big-screen flat TV in the pool room was the big draw. I remember one particular case that hinged on an obscure technical point and, as I watched the lawyers trying to explain it, the jury’s eyes rolled back. The multi-$$$$ case finally seemed to be decided on which personalities the jurors liked most.

Seems both ends of the spectrum are now free to do as they wish. The “elites” go unpunished, unchecked, and are truly the “Deplorables”. I really did believe that President Trump was going to put Hillary in jail. IRS, Benghazi, Lynch, Rice, Obama etc.. He ran on a “Without laws or borders there is no country” campaign. Where are they?
And from OJ forward, the “low-lifes” are also finding the equality long sought. Free from law and justice. Free to “Burn this bitch down”. Lie, cheat, steal, kill and prey on kids through drugs, sex and such. Producing enslavement themselves , the very cause they use as justification, and reaping the rewards. Yeah, they’re gaining equality.

Tobe honest, I’m surprised there was a mistrial; I expected the guy to walk. if I were the Defense I would have beaten on about how the evidence was mishandled from Day 1. The prosecutor threw this case before it ever came to court.

Hoo hoo…our favoritest activities are cooking/baking and eating what we cook/bake. We bought a top-of-the-line GE stack-oven set, wow, bake and cook to heart’s content.
Welllll, we cook/bake and oven gets dirty. We push ‘self-clean’ button and – poof – oven dies. Repairman comes out, replaces computer board and things go fine until the next time we push ‘clean’ button – poof – same thing.
Once more it happens annnnnnnd repair service sends out an independent contractor who takes one look at it, replaces the board and tells us that we can bake/cook away but we should never ever touch the self-clean button. Seems when GE made it they put the control board in an area where it gets too much heat, there’s not enough room to effectively insulate it, so self-clean burns out the board.
Not to leave us underflummoxed he then tells us there’s been a service bulletin out for quite a while that asks service personnel to remind oven owners that they shouldn’t use self-clean. Seems not telling us about that helps the GE parts and service providers’ bottom lines.

      Good afternoon, Weed. That’s wonderful.

I had a cat named Leaf. I got her in the fall, as a kitten, and she was as orange as the leaves on the ground. She was a Trojan Horse, covered in fleas. You haven’t lived unless you’ve lived in a single-wide with fleas on you at night, and then had to wash a tiny cat under a faucet, with very sharp claws. The instructions on my formula should have read, “Wear welding gloves and facial protection.”

I once moved into a house which had been empty for weeks but the fleas still lived in the carpet, & the first day was horrible since they were starving. Ran out for some Sevin, sprinkled it everywhere, then vacumned it up a couple hours later, along with the dead fleas.
I had cats way back before flea collars, so there was no way to deter fleas excapt flea shampoo. Never had a cat who liked that, but after years of clawed up arms (still have the white scars) I figured out to put a window screen in the bathtub: the cats grabbed hold with their claws & could not let go. Just had to avoid the teeth.

FBI uncovered Russian bribery plot before Obama administration approved controversial nuclear deal with Moscow

Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.

Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.

The investigation was ultimately supervised by then-U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, an Obama appointee who now serves as President Trump’s deputy attorney general, and then-Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, now the deputy FBI director under Trump, Justice Department documents show.

The connections to the current Russia case are many. The Mikerin probe began in 2009 when Robert Mueller, now the special counsel in charge of the Trump case, was still FBI director. And it ended in late 2015 under the direction of then-FBI Director James Comey, who Trump fired earlier this year.

There are times I wish I could get a picture on here though I’m satisfied with just geeting a post on most days. We just found the neatest moth in the gararage, it’s perfectly camoflaged to look like a piece of broken, dead leaf, It’s a very mottled dark brown, almost black, and has raggedy wing edges along its backside so that it can hide in the leaf litter looking for all the world like a torn leaf.
Camo doesn’t work all that well with its being on a white wall but it’s safe. Nearly every day something new.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, we pray for all the people who have been affected by the earthquakes and hurricanes.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
