We always thought he was a black and white cat. Old age and sunshine changed him to brown, black and white, so we think he has a bit of calico or yellow tiger in him. He’s a mutt.

I’ve noticed that over the years with some of our black cats, as they age they get henna colored fur.

In older black cats, if they go outdoors a lot, the rain and sunshine oxidizes their fur! If tripod was a calico, he’d be a she, more likely.

Neat. I think Tripod might be part tortoiseshell now. Look at the orange in that fur up there. Ten years ago he was black and white. Very odd.

And coming home today there was a calico kitten crawling under the fence to get into the back yard of our country store. Small coincidence. Pulling into our driveway there was an unconcerned bobcat sitting on the ‘shoulder’, it wasn’t the least bothered with my being in the truck, I slowed and stopped and it got up and walked across the driveway and into our low area. Caturday, for me at least, gets visual aids.
