President Trump granted a presidential pardon to Joe Arpaio, the former Sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., on Friday.
Arpaio, 85, was recently found guilty of criminal contempt for defying a judge’s order to stop traffic patrols that allegedly targeted immigrants.
He had been charged with misdemeanor contempt of court for allegedly willfully defying a judge’s order in 2011 and prolonging his patrols for another 17 months.
He was expected to be sentenced on Oct. 5 and faced up to six months in jail if convicted.
“Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now eighty-five years old, and after more than fifty years of admirable service to our Nation, he is worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon,” the White House said in a statement.
Excellent to hear. He should never have been convicted in the first place. Waiting for Part B – all the pearl clutching and all the asinine shrieking and screaming. Don’t imagine that will take long.

I think Scott Adam’s called this well (but we will see) anyhow Scott said given we have an impending natural disaster at our door it is going to be hard for the MSM to bellyache too much about the Arpaio pardon without coming off as petty fools and thereby losing even more viewers and democratic voters.

Might be hard, but they’ll manage it.

Yeah, the clip that Stella posted showed a couple of dames wringing their hands over how it breaks precedent with other presidents in that they usually don’t pardon anyone until the end of their first or second year.
Russians and Racists and Pardons! Oh My!!

Nice to see something take the wind out of their sails for a change. (Pun not intended.)

My atheist buddy told me two days ago, “If Trump pardons Arpaio, it’ll be the end of the world for Trump.”
I told him, “Let’s wait and see. Who knows?”

I don’t argue with my intelligent lefty friends. I say things like that.
Arguing, with either rhetoric or dialectic, is pointless, if you don’t have a plastic TV bezel framing your head, and a nice glass-and-mahogany anchor desk in front of you in the frame, and nice bumper music and some commercials, and some more nice bumper music before you speak again. I don’t argue. I just love. Nothing else works.
That’s alt-right for you.
Alt-Left says, “I can’t use rhetoric or dialectic, so I have to use violence and call it speech.”
Funny how 1 John 4 (KJV) works.

On January 17, 2017, Obama commuted the sentence of 209 individuals (109 of whom faced life sentences). These included Chelsea Manning and Oscar López Rivera, enabling them to be released from prison on May 17, 2017. Manning’s sentence initially ran through the year 2045. Obama also pardoned James Cartwright, who was awaiting sentencing for giving false statements to federal investigators.

How wonderful! Sheriff Joe is sorely needed in Maricopa County. That county is going downhill fast in the illegal alien department.
My suggestion is that if the progs of AZ want to give the land “back” to the Mexican government, they begin by deeding their homes and all other properties first. I mean, fair is fair.
Better yet, call up the Navajo Nation President at (928) 871-7000 and tell him you’re giving up title to all your land possessions. Ask him where to send the paperwork. Anything less is just virtue signaling.
