In times of struggle
In times of safety
In times of fear
In times of delight
You, Lord, are with me
Even when I doubt
You are with me.
“A Place on the Earth” by Fernando Ortega
Find me a place on the earth
Where a weary man can rest
And listen for your voice
In the turning seasons.
A quiet place in the world
Where I can bow
And confess that I fear
Where you have brought me,
Mysterious God.
All of my life
You have been with me
My comfort in loneliness
My hope in the dark
All of my life
Lord, please stay with me
Be my sustaining breath
Guardian of my heart.
My days are passing by
Like falling stars
That blaze across the night sky
Then they are gone.
But Father, at your side
I will never be afraid
For you have held all my days
In the palm of your hand.
All of my life
You have been with me
My comfort in loneliness
My hope in the dark
All of my life
Lord, please stay with me
Be my sustaining breath
Guardian of my heart.
All of my life
You have been with me
My comfort in loneliness
My hope in the dark
All of my life
Lord, please stay with me
Be my sustaining breath
Guardian of my heart.
Be my sustaining breath
Guardian of my heart
Be my sustaining breath
Be my sustaining breath
Be my sustaining breath.

And Andrew changed not only the building codes on Miami but their enforcement. A lot of the damage was due to substandard construction that never should have passed inspection. We even built our place using the new Miami codes as they’re stronger than the ones here.
A good friend of mine was on the Miami PD for Andrew and his house, a CBS build from the 50s, wasn’t damaged. My office ‘adopted’ families there who were our customers and sent supplies to them thru him until Fedex and UPS were back up and running.
As unused to hurricanes as we were in NOLA we just sat down and watched it coming, luckily it went under us landed at Morgan City, had it have hit us we’d have been in a world of hurt. 13 years later it was our turn.

My cousin had just sold his mobile home in Homestead the previous year, and bought a place in Bradenton. My aunt and mother spent the winter there each year. The entire mobile home park was leveled. I had two other cousins living near Homestead during Andrew, but their places weren’t destroyed, fortunately.

My wife and I went to visit her parents in Naples later that year, and as a day trip drove to Key West.
We passed through Homestead, and it was quite sobering to see a trailer park that was all just empty concrete slabs.

Morgan City sits right on the Gulf, it’s docks, shipyards and repair facilities support the Gulf offshore oil industry. If Andrew had been a major storm like Katrina the damages would have been catastrophic instead of judt ‘bad’.
There was a large mobile home/shanty city that housed the many illegals who worked the oil industry, it was wiped. It was back in business for us to ‘deal’ with about ten years later…no word on what Rita did to it.

After Hurricane Camille the Army Corps of Engineers asked my dad if he would supervise the re-building of the “fortifications?” (sorry forget name) against storms for New Orleans. He asked if they would build to level 5 hurricane level, and they said no. So he refused to be a part of it, and the blame eventually put on him. They thought it would be a hundred years until another huge storm I guess. He eventually left the corps after it became politicized, and he would not have been able to do his job properly. What bothers me is everyone involved in the re-building, and I’m sure gov’t officials, knew to what level they were re-building those things in NO, and just went along with it I guess. Makes no sense to me.

It’s a culture of incompetence. Just weeks begore the concrete levee wall collapsed in Lakeview the person in whose yard it broke called the Levee Board, city, Corps…anyone who had any responsibility… to report bubbling springs in his yard close to the levee. Officials came out, looked at them and dismissed them. Days later he calls again and says that now there’s fresh sand coming out of the springs and there is no sand in the area. Again the experts dismiss it again.
Months after the break, when the city’s dry, people are returning and blame is starting to be apportioned we see the pictures of this guy’s backyard, broken levee wall, huge scoured area where millions of gallons of water plowed through leaving zero doubt that this was ground zero. The Levee Board and Corps were still over a year later denying that the mess in the guy’s yard was a precursor or that their crappy construction caused the break. BTW, the guy whose yard this happened in, who numerous times reported it to ‘responsible’ officials from City to Federal level, was a civil engineer with many years of experience and a deep knowledge of the levee system.
BTW, Mayor Landrieu is on tv explaining to the population how they should protect themselves if this hurricane aiming for Texas dumps a lot of rain in the city. 15 pumps are still down, about the same number as in the last two flooding events, but at least he’s not saying that if the city floods it’s not because of the pumps.

Czar, wish I had been with you up in the highlands when looking at that gravesite…….had heard many stories about German soldiers serving in the Legion after WWII.

There were German soldiers in SF at Bragg, they were brought in due to their knowledge of Bloc countries and Russia in particular. There were quite a few ex-Whermacht in the US military, enemy of my enemy and all that. Rudel lectured AF pilots on how he developed tactics for taking out Russian tanks with aerial bombs.

I tend to drop things because of back injury, and it gets irritating. Someone (maybe Mother Angelica) said when those type things upset you say “all praise and glory to God”, so I do. I thank God for having whatever I dropped, and the arms and hands to hold it with. It really changes your perspective about smaller annoyances.

Our priest said this was something one of the nuns taught them as a child. He said we owe to God each type of those prayers, and since they seem to me to be in the appropriate order for true worship, I will try to address my prayer in that order. Other days, when I have something pressing I don’t pay a bit of attention to it, but it seems to me good advice to remember all those types.

I was in Houston Texas in 1961the same time of year, just arrived on campus at Rice when Hurricane Carla hit the coast of Texas from the Gulf and shut down everything…was terrible and very frightening at the time, but we all had the fun times of idiot college kids running around in the high winds pretending how fun it was watching trees blow by and the water rise.
Aftermath we volunteered to go down to coast and help cleanup…biggest issue was snakes, and cats that were trapped under car hoods where they had hidden for refuge and could not get out until they went very much crazy…..

One would have to be blind to miss the one-eye symbolism.
One-eye pics and butterflies. Hollywood and the whole “Star” industry is sick, and they’re out in the open with it, now, knowing that almost nobody will believe just how much.
https://vigilantcitizen.com/pics-of-the-month/symbolic-pics-month-0817/
All will be known someday. Some of these are even trying to make it known, like Jim Carrey.
The evil in the entertainment industry will be made known, and IS known to the only One Who matters. Sorry, Mary, but if SoCal breaks at the San Andreas Fault, and tumbles into the Pacific, I will consider it, weighing the reasons why and why not, a net gain for humanity.

I don’t understand any of this. It is some sort of satanic pedophilia or otherwise sex cult? The site itself is odd. Some of the people posting there believe there never was a real trip to the moon! Good grief!
Trust me, there has always been a segment of the film industry which wishes to bring others into their sick sphere. People you would never suspect are some of the strangest. The majority of people, however, are just working stiffs daily doing an interesting job which pays wonderfully after which they go home to their families each night.
In a recent interview, Buzz Aldrin did seem mentally off. There’s every possibility that he’s an old near-senile man who is being exploited or perhaps is giving in to bent proclivities he no longer represses. It was sad and rather creepy to witness an educated, knowledgeable and accomplished person acting weird. But with Aldrin I think it’s been a long time coming.

About 4 years ago, 4 co-workers and I went on a road trip to South Georgia. We went to see the Fort Sumter Confederate prison. This is where many Confederate soldiers died. It’s now a National Park. There is an indoor museum, an outdoor museum ( of the prison itself) and a huge graveyard. The graveyard has many beautiful monuments. I would dare anyone to go there and not shed a few tears.

Actually, The museum is The National Prisoner of War Museum of The United States. They have exhibits of WWII, Vietnam, Korea and Iraq. Actually, it was a prison for Union soldiers. The conditions were so bad, The Confederate soldiers died along with their prisoners from disease and hunger. I believe, if the left tries to mess with anything here, there will be a fight!

The communist party wasn’t outlawed anywhere but for those working in the federal government. That’s how they were able to dismiss communists who were working there. But, of course, that was only those who were openly communist and a party member. Many people still held communist political beliefs and acted upon them.

City of New Orleans government is in full CYA mode. Mayor’s on TV reminding residents, without directly implicating his lack of leadership, that an undisclosed pumps are still down and that ‘even if the pumping system were fully functional flooding would still be possible’.
I spent most of the morning trying to get anyone in the city to answer a simple question: “Did the mayor take the neighboring parish president’s offer to send their expert pump engineers, repair personnel, equipment and supplies to help the city immediately start repairs?”. The offer was made early on and could have helped repair pumps while the city went through its torturous system of contracting out repairs. Instead there was a delay and, in the last few weeks, we’ve gone from 18 broken pumps to 15.
If the hurricane that’s going to pound Texas sends the 5-6 inches of rain predicted for NOLA there’ll be more city floiding – you might not see it on the news due to the Texas coverage but it will have the NOLA city government once again doing the bureaucratic hat dance.

He lived with me full time for over four years and a goodly part of the year after that. Last few years it’s been weekends and some school vacays and a month or two during the summer. I got him while he was still malleable and sorta set his path so he’s more me than any other male…his dad’s out of the picture.
I wanted at least one progeny to carry on the work and he’s it. My middle son, his grandpa, is very Christian-conservative but doesn’t have that ‘professional s***-stirer’ disposition I have. I need a replacement. So far he’s sure he wants to be in the Army and be a policeman…so far so good.

Harvey is a Katrina in miniature. A bubble broke off of the Gulf Loop Current and floated westward, Harvey’s going right over it and the heat that bubble contains is what’s causing tne rapid intensification.
Katrina went over a hot bubble from the Current and that’s what caused it to ibtensify do quickly, difference is the bubble Harvey’s over is older and cooler than the one Katrina went over. That Loop Current can turn a tropical storm into a monster hurricane in a heartbeat but even here local weatherguessers usually ignore it.

On TV now on EWTN channel is “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” about Saul Alinsky and how he started in Chicago and infiltrated the Catholic church, and eventually went to Notre Dame. Sadly I just saw it was on, and it’s over at 4:30 but you can catch the end for an idea about it. I have seen it before. It is good. It will be re-aired Sept. 24 at 1:30 pm est. You can also see the entire 1 hr 25 min on youtube at:
It is definitely worth watching. Very appropriate for what is going on today. Nothing is whitewashed about church involvement.

I have had an interest in what was once called ‘guerila warfare’ since I was in junior high. I have a pretty good collection of books going back past WWII on it and I find them as relevant as authors such as Alinsky.
One of the best was Mao…ruthless but honest and effective. Read his works as they are basically a no-frills and raw version of Alinsky’s more puffed up screed.

And his book on protracted war. I’d have killed to sit down and share a bottle of Red Star Er Guo Tou Jiu with him (actually have a bottle in tne pantry, 112-proof, smooth drink, great deicer and bug remover). Alinsky in blue collar sans tweed jacket.

Maybe a sit-down with Hideyoshi would be better. You wouldn’t have had to slit his throat at the end of the conversation.

I don’t think Mao was murderous like Stalin, he was pragmatic and everything and everyone was either a tool to the goal or an obstacle. His goal was a unified and powerful China and that goal was more important than the lives of the citizens, it wasn’t the ‘now’ it was the ‘future’.
Like Hideyoshi he was a uniter and lives were secondary to the goal…neither had a retinue of snowflakes. Maybe the US needs a leader who has the goal of bringing us back to the world’s fore, to hell with the whiney opinions of lesser nations, greasing the wheels of progress with the fat of the nonproductive and consumptive. Whoops….there goes thst involuntary spasm in my right arm….

Political Warfare Attacks – A Primer.
As used here, “political warfare” does not concern activities associated with the American political process but rather
exclusively refers to political warfare as understood by the Maoist Insurgency model. Political warfare is one of the five components of a Maoist insurgency. Maoist methodologies employ synchronized violent and non-violent actions that focus on mobilization of individuals and groups to action. This approach envisions the direct use of non-violent operational arts and tactics as elements of combat power. In Maoist insurgencies, the formation of a counter-state is essential to seizing state power. Functioning as a hostile competing state acting within an existing state, it has an alternate infrastructure. Political warfare operates as one of the activities of the “counter-state” and is primarily focused on the resourcing and mobilization of the counter state or the exhaustion and demobilization of the targeted political movement. Political warfare methods can be implemented at strategic, operational, or tactical levels of operation. Political warfare is warfare. Strategic information campaigns designed to delegitimize through disinformation arise out of non-violent lines of effort in political warfare regimes. They principally operate through narratives. Because the left is aligned with Islamist organizations at local, national and international levels, recognition should be given to the fact that they seamlessly interoperate through coordinated synchronized interactive narratives.
They are well organized, and coordinated. Memo is very interesting, and worth reading.

All politics is warfare, just on a different field with different weapons and a lesser body count … though any of those variables could change in a blink. I generally look at any contact between two or more people as potential warfare…limits my dinner invitations but then I’m not sitting down at a table with strangers holding knives.
The Islam pic cancer has been metastasizing through Europe and the US for decades, aided by politicians whom, I have no doubt, been appropriately rewarded for their parts in the disease’s spread. Again, the report that BoP did in thevlate 90s showing the Saudis were financing the Islamic Wahhabist evangelists who were converting the worst and most violent of US prisoners into their fold. Post 911 the government withdrew that report and actually tried to classify it though you can still, fig copues of it up.
There was another post-91 report showing that the Saudis were financing the majority of misques thst were popping up across the country…then we get Obama who bows to the Saudi/Wahhabist kin and makes murder and mayhem by Moslem thugs almost a state protected activity.
Keep reloading, nonrelling when the Saudis will outsource their ‘convert or die’ campaign to the Antifas and a certain Southside Chicago organization.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
