We have plenty of bobcats around but they’re a scruffier color. Do you have the lynx to that picture?

If I ever have another cat, I want a Maine Coon. At least I think I do. I’ve never actually met one. Any of y’all cat-savy types have a recommendation one way or another?

When my daughter was 11 or so, we had left our door ajar one winter morning, and a HUGE cat wandered in! Turns out it belonged to a neighbor, and I believe it was a Maine Coon. It was all black though.

As I understand it, Maine Coons can be any color, or multicolored. They just have to have tufted ears, like Bob up there. And they average about 18 lbs. That’s the part I really love. My best cat ever was Red Kitty, an orange tabby male who weighed 16 lbs. He was an incredible rat killer.

Last ‘commercial’ cats we had were two Siamese that Czarina brought to the table. Before we were even POSSLQs we started accreting cats and over the years have never had a shortage of volunteers, they just show up. We swore that someone had put a cat-bum mark on the front step but we couldn’t find it.
As for verminators the feral volunteers have been super, they have a 24/7 foodbowl but seem to be anxious to keep their skills polished.
