  4. So Tuesday night my husband asked me to pray for/with him…he was having some difficult days & usually feels under attack by The Enemy leading up to a gig (Christian Rock Band). One thing I prayed for is that everyone who would hear them play would eventually come to know Jesus as Lord & Savior…and, God Willing, that the band might get to see tangible evidence of the good seed that they are planting leading to kingdom harvests.

The Lively Pelts played/ministered at a new venue Wednesday night & The Spirit really fell. At the end a young woman committed her heart & life to Jesus–just after my husband prayed with her friend who’d brought her to the service/concert…

This makes two musical venues in a row where someone has gotten Saved at my husband’s concerts! In more than a decade of such musical endeavors, even in churches, I don’t recall two events in a row with overt salvations happening. God is on the move!

Here’s a link to a write up about their previous event, in case anyone is interested. We got to hear/see The Machine Gun Preacher in person there too–what a blessing!

They are living by the sword….and I think they can only be managed by the sword….for sure….WE DO NOT need them here in our beautiful land of America…..they cannot become Americans as our founders established our nation for us.

You see the Chinese letting hordes of immigrants in? You see the Chinese letting foreigners flood in across their borders and welcome them with a flood of welfare?
The Chinese have an understated policy of ‘Chinese power’ they’ve held for centuries that’s serving them well now, they’ve moved in the last thirty years from an almost 3rd world status to the world’s 2nd largest economic power and have embarked on construction projects on a scale the world’s never seen.
The Chinese have done to us what we did to the world years ago, became the world’s primary manufacturing center. The way things are going we’ll be number two in twenty or so years and the world will be dancing to the Chinese tune. We still have some defensive items that make the Chinese nervous enough to where they’re diverting billions to counter them but, as they have in the past, they can buy another president and just have us remove them from service. The Chinese will be the world’s 800-pound gorilla but our non-English speaking parasitic load will be healthy, well fed and free to bite the hands that feed them.

      Lyrics
Every now and then I get a little lost
My strings all get tangled, my wires all get crossed
Every now and then I’m right up on the edge
Dangling my toes out over the ledge
I just thank God you’re here.

Cause when I’m a bullet shot out of a gun
When I’m a firecracker comin’ undone
Or when I’m a fugitive ready to run, all wild-eyed and crazy
No matter where my reckless soul takes me
      Baby, you save me.

It’s hard lovin’ a man, that’s got a Gypsy soul
I don’t know how you do it; I’m not sure how you know
The perfect thing to say, to save me from myself
You’re the angel that believes in me, like nobody else
And I thank God you do.

Cause when I’m a bullet shot out of a gun
When I’m a firecracker comin’ undone
Or when I’m a fugitive ready to run, all wild-eyed and crazy
No matter where my reckless soul takes me
      Baby, you save me.

I know I don’t tell you nearly enough
That I couldn’t live one day without your love.

When I’m a ship tossed around on the waves
Up on a high wire that’s ready to break
When I’ve had just about all I can take
      Baby, you
      Baby, you save me.

Cause when I’m a bullet shot out of a gun
When I’m a firecracker comin’ undone
Or when I’m a fugitive ready to run, all wild-eyed and crazy

So….I did some internet searching about Elfwick….and so he is a troll….internet comedy central sorta for those who spend a lot of time on social media to the exclusion of worthwhile serious pursuits of reality maybe….so I came across this humor trope on Voxsomething or other blog…

tho’t it was worth sharing for some reason or other…perhaps to make me seem more hip than my 76 year old body and what is left of a mind actually deserve…but, anon…

“Leftism thrives on the ability to divide people into binary victimizer/victim classes. The trans movement destroys the boundaries between these and should be exploited for all its worth. Although I was born a heterosexual white Christian male, I identify as a victim, and should be granted all of the rights and privileges owed to me by society, including but not limited to: freedom from criticism, freedom to criticize, freedom to force others to submit to my whims, government recognition of the correctness of my beliefs and behaviors, government sanctioned punishment of those of disagree with my beliefs and behaviors, and right of access to monies and services provided by taxation of those who disagree with my beliefs and behaviors. Transvictim lives matter!”

I think maybe I can get this message of protest somehow….forgive my ignorance and shallow thinking…it is the product of a sheltered adulthood.

Half of Class of 2016 are ‘A’ Students—Even Though Their SAT Scores Stink

    http://www.intellectualtakeout.org/article/half-class-2016-are-students-even-though-their-sat-scores-stink

“Recent findings show that the proportion of high school seniors graduating with an A average — that includes an A-minus or A-plus — has grown sharply over the past generation, even as average SAT scores have fallen.

In 1998, it was 38.9%. By last year, it had grown to 47%.

That’s right: Nearly half of America’s Class of 2016 are A students. Meanwhile, their average SAT score fell from 1,026 to 1,002 on a 1,600-point scale — suggesting that those A’s on report cards might be fool’s gold.

This news is even more startling when one goes back another several years. According to records, the average SAT score in 1972 was 1,039 – a full 37 points greater than today’s scores.

I took up substitute teaching at a Dallas High School after retiring and did so to see what was the issues at our public schools and why are the kids that graduate doing so poorly in college, and so unprepared for life or work today.

I found that the schools are merely a huge money driven day care center that pipelines the kids out the end with fake testing and grade…but keeps them off the streets for 12 years so the parents can either get more welfare for more kids, or the parents with no education or skills themselves can work two part time jobs to pay for some of their family needs, in between shopping for Air Jordon tennis shoes and Apple iPhones for their welfare kids getting free food in the school cafeteria and disrupting classes from the few kids that are actually trying to learn something….mostly kids of Asian Parents or a few Caucasian parents who are deluded into thinking that there is an education in that briarpatch somewhere…..

If you looked at the BOOKS even….they are not readable, but cost 70 bucks appease, and the kids do not take them home anyway…..full of pictures and junk….we do not EDUCATE anymore….we contain and accommodate now…..diversity is merely warehousing with a PC name…..

Our future generations are screwed if this is the best America can do.

Even the walls of kids’ classrooms are completely filled with distracting posters and the kid’s “art”, just like every page of their Fake World History Books are. Sidebars, graphs, tidbits, “factoids”, etc. Just like their math books, just like every single one of their back-breaking texts that they’re forced to carry to and from school.

The cause and food for ADHD. I have a local History textbook (10th grade, I think, got it from a teacher friend of mine just to look into the abyss), and it’s a hodgepodge of insanity and SJWism, and it’s ten years old. Every page is full of stuff that isn’t actual text and dialectic. I can only imagine them today. They probably have QR-codes on every page now, linking to even more distraction-filled websites that teach nothing but the Party line, and every other page probably has a sidebar or factoid about “Great Women in Math” and “Great LGBTs in Science” and “Great POCs in Astrophysics”.

I wish we would burn every textbook written after 1960 sometimes, and teach kids to read again, without pictures.

Public school is a business, and not a very good one. I’m presently involved in the annual ‘purchase of the school supplies’, all of which (conveniently) can be found neatly stacked in a special place, along with specific school/grades inventory lists, at my local Walmart.
I finally fell into the realization that my purchasing all of the items on the list basically subsidizes other students in the class who can’t afford the items. Granted Imshould have been suspicious when I noticed the list included some 30 #2 pencils (which come in packs greater than 10) and multiples of other items in excess of what you’d expect a child to use. About grade 3 the teacher mentioned the supplies being put into the classroom’s ‘community’ closet.
Luckily the school doesn’t have a uniform, also conveniently available at your local Walmart. Granted uniforms have their place, your child’s less likely to be beaten/killed for his clothes, but why do we allow this situation to be? Come to think of it, it’s been going on for decades now so it’s become part of our culture.

That would cause me to blow a gasket. If I’m buying school supplies for my child I would expect them to be for my child, not every child in the classroom whose parents are too uninvolved to buy their kids school supplies.

If there is a need for extra school supplies, then I expect to be respectfully approached and asked if I would consider buying extra for others, not being deceived and having the supplies I bought for my child turned into an example of socialism.

Around here parents are told to get ink cartridges, paper towels, wipes, cleaning supplies, all kinds of stuff. My daughter in law overheard a conversation near the end of the school year where teachers were dumping stuff from their full supply closets on the janitor to do something with.

First, they have taken advantage of parents to get that much stuff, and second, it’s paper towels and wipes. It isn’t going to spoil, why can’t they keep it over the summer?

Parents used to come in with unbelievable lists of things. Most parents have to spend a lot of money on supplies now, and if they have several kids it gets super expensive. Also, teachers tell them what brands to buy. I’m sorry, what difference does it make what brand paper, pencils, pens, and especially notebooks and folders and backpacks they have?

This isn’t surprising, is it? Shameful though. Heartbreaking.

I have often mentioned the wonderful handful of teachers I had in one of the poorer areas of town. In math, and especially English, grammar, and reading, I got an education far superior to what I paid thousands, indeed, tens of thousands of dollars, for my kids to get. I used to review their papers, and correct them. Occasionally I’d find one that got turned in without me making them them review for corrections. I was amazed at the lack of care for good writing.

Their private schools gave them a much better education in the sciences than I got, had excellent language and music programs, and a good choice of sports to participate in though.

Anyhow, to get back to the point, in my youth, good teachers taught well, in spite of the books we had, usually old, and the less than great conditions. The good ones taught no matter what, and boy, did they hold you accountable.

It’s sad that we as a nation are throwing so much money into the education pool, which is gamed only to try to teach answers to a test, not thinking and problem solving. And, like joshua said, they have made it into a giant day care.

Ask any military recruiting station where high school ‘graduates’ come in to take the tests for military enlistment. Grade requirements aren’t all that high and practice tests are available all over the internet but schools of testees have to take it more than once to get a passing grade.

My kids were given whatever that test is that recruiters give at their high school, at least the youngest two were. We had recruiters call relentlessly for months, and just about every week they sent socks for some reason. We didn’t have to buy socks for a long time, thanks to Uncle Sam. One of my sons scored the highest from his school, and I think he was at the very top of the test scores period. I thought the recruiter was going to move in with us on that one.

I can remember when we were desperate for troops that we’d mass test the Job Corps enrollees just to try and find one or two…ASVAB also helped Job Corps folks test their charges’ potentials. Many high schools won’t let recruiters within a mile of the students, even though the majority of military personnel are non-combatants and learn skills…something they can’t in modern schools.

Today, recruiters at the High School have a special problem….even if the kids want to join, so many are on ADHD and ADD meds, which are basically Methamphetamine…that they cannot join the military until they have been free of all those drugs for a year….now if they NEED them to go to school their Sr. Year….they are not going to have a year free from the drugs…but the docs and counselors push the drugs to improve classroom management and focus…..have discussed the often with great recruiters, who basically set up tables and sit and talk to the kids, but get no recruits for great job careers….but also, the grades and aptitudes will make the kids ineligible too….today’s military if full of high tech…not the old sweat and grunt and march and shoot deal anymore.

This was a Catholic high school. The recruiter was an alumni, and had been on the wrestling team with my son. He was a senior when my son was a freshman I think.

MALKIN: Manufacturing Hate For ‘Made In America’

    http://www.dailywire.com/news/18790/malkin-manufacturing-hate-made-america-michelle-malkin

But to nastily deride the makers and job creators proudly showing off their wares in the nation’s capital at the invitation of our commander in chief takes a special level of anti-Trump lunacy and arrogance.

“Maybe it’s just me,” Kristol snarked as he heaped scorn on “Made in America” week.

Yes, it is just you, Kristol, and the rest of your Beltway Swamp “schmendricks” who turn up their noses at the “tchotchkes” that help save lives, move mountains and break barriers across the galaxy.

The rest of us give praise and thanks.

It occurred to me to do Uriah Heep’s, “Easy Livin'” at karaoke tonight, and got to wondering what ever happened to them.
Found the songwriter of the group, Ken Hensley, is doing an upcoming one-off show with Alice Cooper. Looks like it’ll be in Russia. 🙂

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

I have been tussling my ambivalent feelings about John McCain over and over in my head during the past 24 hours. Below I have expressed them as clearly as I can.

John McCain is as big of an enemy of the United States as is Barack Obama and although I have sympathy for McCain’s state of humanity he is a terrible person. Having cancer doesn’t lessen the evil that McCain has done, it doesn’t regenerate the lives of the dead or rebuild the fiber of America that he has destroyed by being the democrat’s favorite republican and being an active participant in America’s destruction.

I don’t think McCain should get a free pass for his ill deeds because he has cancer, neither do I rejoice in his cancer, but I did celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden, I did understand the euphoria felt by the people who stood around the white house chanting “USA, USA!!” I did feel disgusted by Obama when he came out and told red blooded Americans to “Cut it out.” So I am not sad that John McCain is dying, he is a toxic hateful person who has willfully and with malice harmed Americans and America. He will continue to do so as long as his mind and body are able to do so.

McCain continued his assault on President Trump today. I hope that his cancer is a blessing in that he can make his peace with God before his passing rather than getting shot down in the middle of the street like Seth Rich. The same Seth Rich who was very, very likely killed at the behest of Hillary Clinton, John McCain’s preferred choice for president. If we know, what we know, imagine what John McCain knows about the Clintons, yet he did everything within his power to put Hillary Clinton into the oval office. A truly demonic woman. John’s girl.

I won’t attack John McCain or take joy in what is coming his way but I know he let many good, good people suffer to pad his own power and wallet, to appease his master by ignoring human suffering, it seems to me that McCain doesn’t give a damn about his fellow humans he cares only for what benefits himself no matter the cost to others.

    A wolf.

I don’t really get all worked up over the he battle he has coming his way in the same way I wouldn’t care if it was Obama or Hillary. No one deserves this or that particular cancer in accordance with their deeds, cancer is a merciless foe that attacks both the pure and the malicious with the same fierceness. It simply is what it is and McCain is who he is, a terrible evil person.

I will pray for McCain and especially for his family and friends, a prayer for light but in my mind’s heart I cannot divorce his actions from who he is or give him a special compensation just because he was one of the unlucky people to get a horrific disease.

John McCain was and is a horrid malignant person. I can’t pretend that isn’t true because he has a horrific malignant disease.

I do not not rejoice in the suffering of any of God’s children and I hope and pray that McCain chooses before death what he does not seem to have chosen in his long career as a public figure, I hope and pray that he choses the mercy and love of Christ.

I think I feel like for as long as McCain is able to, he is going to cloak himself in his cancer, as Obama cloaked himself in his “blackness” and that regardless of how horrible and detrimental to America and President Trump McCains words become he will be considered unassailable and McCain will use this time to do as much damage as possible.

Color me a cynic. Color me cold (but I’m not). I still believe that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

I really, really don’t like McCain and I don’t have anything good to say about him. And I think God is ok with that.

I do like him a bit better than I did last week. I’m pretty ambivalent about his cancer, and I kind of wish I wasn’t. I just don’t want to be the kind of person who rejoices in another person’s ill fortune, for my sake, and my sake alone.

I don’t want to be what the left is. I guess I’ve read one too many death wishes for the President.

I just think the man is dying. We all do, sooner or later, and it’s only remarkable because he’s a controversial public figure.

I will say prayers for him and his family, and I hope God cuts me some slack on the fact that they aren’t my most heart felt prayers. All I can do is all I can do. I don’t like him either. Obama did what Obama lived to do. McCain should have done better, but he was a weasel from his early days apparently.

It seems to me that I’ve seen men and women change. I’ve known and read about people who turned their lives around, selfish, mean, no good people who found kindness and compassion. But I have never read about a spineless person becoming courageous. Maybe I’m wrong about that, but that’s what I think about him.

I guess a more succinct encapsulation of my thoughts is this, if civil war were to come to America tomorrow those who which to deconstruct the United States and her Constitution to benefit themselves, to secure their oligarchy, buoyed by their minion foot soldiers the BLM, CAIR, the P*ssy Hat clan and all the various forms of rabid violent liberals against Americans who wish to preserve our nation of laws, I know without a doubt John McCain would pick up his gun against me and mine. and on this I am not ambivalent as to right and wrong.

I’m not convinced that day is not coming. Every dagger in DC is out for President Trump and anyone who doesn’t fall in line with the lies that DC continues to push down the throats of their fledglings. Obama’s presidency flamed race relations into a dandy boil and Hillary fanned the flames of ignorant hatred into a roaring inferno.

My opinion is we are at a historical moment, we are going to tip one way or the other, or explode.

So…. I am sad, sad that man has wasted his life, sad the a man has thought so little of the lives of others.

There is always time, and I don’t hold myself up as having figured it out or having any certainty other than I am a sinner and it is through God’s love I am redeemed…..but for the grace of God.

I will pray for John McCain’s conversion, I hope he chooses light. But more than that I ill pray for the soul of my country, a soul that McCain helped to darken.

Came here tonight to whine a bit, specially as it appears no one is home. Reading lovely’s last comment re: McCain, that last paragraph – ya, what she said.

Anyway, decided to dispense with the whine a bit. See, the hd (hard drive) on the main pc died tonight, which necessitated running a dirty black coax down the hall to another spare pc, and digging out another bnc (connector) to move the modem as the CAT5 (cable) was not long enough and…

And thought, how many ppl have spare PCs, and many diff lengths of coax and CAT5s, let alone an entire drawer full of diff connectors, or even know how to move their cable modems? Or know how to strip down their pc and try to recover that special-size hd, or have a couple dozen hds from which to draw to slave in to the main pc to attempt recovery?

So, may I tell you tonight how very very incredibly blessed i am? Well, except for that Wicked Son, who had the utter audacity to ask if I had a backup. Enjoy the laugh. It is on me tonight.
