   That gothicesque monstrosity with the pointy top that looks like a Klingon port a potty, silhouetted on the right side of the picture, is the Palace of Cilture and Science. It was built during the Soviet error and is a knockoff of the Stalin-Gothic ‘Seven Sisters’ in Moscow.
   Stalin, in rebuilding Moscow, didn’t scrimp on the bourgeoisie froo-froo or the capitalist amenities. You may have seen the same looking building in pictures of Moscow, Stalin meant it to be the flagship hotel in Moscow where rich and untrustworthy tourists could bring hard currency to the Russians and be spied on in one convenient place. In a fit of irony it is now owned by
   Hilton, it’s the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya. Guess that Marx the end of the Russian socialist experiment.
