Pretty phot of the fruit and berries! I love this time of year for making sorbet and ice cream with seasonal fruit and berries. I used to make jam, but there are enough farmers’ wives around who sell it at the local farmers’ market that I don’t bother anymore.
I agree with Mike. It’s such a pretty picture! Someone did an excellent job staging the colors. Makes me look forward even more to going to the Farmers’ Market in the morning!

Hollywood great Olivia de Havilland has launched her own sequel to the TV series “Feud” β a lawsuit.
The double Oscar-winning actress filed suit Friday against FX Networks and producer Ryan Murphy’s company, alleging the drama inaccurately depicts her as a gossipmonger and is an invasion of privacy.
The suit was filed in Los Angeles on Friday β one day before de Havilland turns 101. The actress, whose credits include the role of Melanie Hamilton in “Gone with the Wind,” lives in Paris.
De Havilland’s suit alleges that “Feud: Bette and Joan,” about the testy relationship of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, used her name and identity without permission or compensation.
Oh come on, a centenarian wallowing in the wake of Hollywood history going for that one last shot of air time before she goes to room temp. “All right, Mr DeMille, I’m ready for my closeup…”
One of our desserts is a berry crisp. Mix raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and sliced strawberries with a bit of sugar, put it in a little dish with high sides, pack the top with a flour/butter mix and put it in the oven. So easy to make, easier than the creme brulee, even. Chef came up with that last week. “Hey, we have all these berries. Hmmm…. what to do?” Twenty of them sold out in two days, and the remaining berry mixture we garnish the cheesecake and his wonderful flourless chocolate torte with — on top of the whipped cream, of course.
I like raspberries, but I wish some genius would come up with a seedless raspberry. After eating them, I spend hours trying to pick the seeds out of my teeth with my tongue!
I just noticed 3 days ago, my fig bush has figs! The last 2 years the frost was not kind, and we had no figs. The bush is only about 5 years old, but it’s got a few this year! I LOVE figs. I cut them in half, grill them on the charcoal grill, top with goat cheese, and drizzle them with a little balsamic glaze. Heaven!
My grandparents had fig trees. Nothing better than fresh figs right off the tree. They also had muscadine grapes, pecan trees, and cumquats. It was a beautiful yard tended with lots of love. π
Had a couple fig bushes in my yard in Florida and really have had a hankering for them since I let. Not quite anything like catching them ripe on the vine. Wow, that grilling sounds scrumptious, Jacqueline!

Tomorrow will ve the 136th anniversary of President Garfield being shot. He’s remembered as the president who reformed Federal civil service from a cesspool of political appointments to a meritocracy. It took about a hundred years for civil service to be devolved into a EEOcracy but…
Garfield fought a New York Senator who was head of a powerful NY political machine that used the civil service system to its own benefit, all but crushing that machine in the process. Garfield’s assassin, Charles Guiteau, had hung about the NY machine’s headquarters for some time and was known to be a nutcase. Then after Garfield crushes that’s machine Guiteau shows up at a railway station and puts a bullet in Garfield for no other reason than being upset over not being given a political appointment. Or at least that’s the official explanation.
Move along, citizen, nothing to see here.
Hilarious Texts Prove Teen’s Mom Has No Idea What Their Family Dog Looks Like
If your dog got lost right now, would you be able to tell it apart from another dog?
Most people would answer βyesβ to this question, but 17-year-old Jeff Squires recently learned that his mom has no idea what their 7-year-old dog, Duey, actually looks like.
Jeff’s mom, Terri, texted him asking if Duey was safe at home after she saw a Facebook photo of a dog who had gone missing in their area.

They’re not, we’re not, fighting intellectual, philosopher king gentulmuns. We’re fighting a criminal syndicate of thieves and liars and thugs. The right long ago won the intellectual argument. Even the left knows that.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

The great Iggy: The problem for the fastidious nevertrumpers who hate Trump’s undignified behavior and would much prefer a tidy, gentulmunly, intellectual, philosophical, Burkean victory is, what they prefer is irrelevant.
They’re not, we’re not, fighting intellectual, philosopher king gentulmuns. We’re fighting a criminal syndicate of thieves and liars and thugs. The right long ago won the intellectual argument. Even the left knows that.
When fighting thugs there is no dignity. There’s no dignity down in the gutter where they live and must be crushed. This is what winning looks like, dumbass nevertrump gentulmuns.

lilbirdee12βs prayer:
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
