I wonder what their response would be if they got called on it – except scream in someone’s face they only asked that because of the questioner’s “white privilege”l

These people’s lives must be as shallow as social media is want to be. Virtue signaling, all of it.

They are shallow thinkers and don’t even possess the mentality to know it.

Also of interest is harmonic resonance.
Given a fundamental frequency, if you double it, you get the first harmonic, which musically is an octave.
But if you triple the fundamental frequency to get the 2nd harmonic, it’s not an octave, but the fifth tone of the major scale that has the fundamental as the first tone.
This is the basis for the “Circle of Fifths”, that generates the 12 tones of the chromatic scale. If you start with A (440 cycles per second), multiply it by 3, then divide by 2 (to drop the result an octave) you get E (660 cycles per second). Then if you use E as the fundamental and multiply it by 3/2, you get the frequency for the fifth tone of the E major scale, which is B. And so forth around the Circle.
Except that when you get back to A, the frequency is off by a little bit – 446 instead of 440. That is why the scale must be tempered – the tones are adjusted a little bit to spread the “error” over all 12 tones.

I loved this. Took me awhile to get through it, I was keeping baby grandson today.

My unscientific opinions leave me baffled. How in the world could anyone think we “invented” math? Even when I try to distance myself from my religious beliefs and look at it for the science alone, I can only see discovery. Discovery of the language, the formula, whatever you want to call it, that is the building block of everything, cell to galaxies.

Also, to me, the fact that mathematical formulas don’t work for everything is more rational, not less. Nature is not a pattern (other than basics like seasons and tides, etc) to be plotted out.

Anyhow, this was really good. I enjoyed it. Thanks for posting.

Seen on Facebook. What do you think?

The ugly truth about health care Republican lawmakers refuse to admit? At least in public? The healthcare battle was irretrievably lost to Obama and the “progressives” the nanosecond Obamacare became the law of the land.

The line of scrimmage was forever moved.

Sure, Republicans can ultimately cobble together their own plan, but it will be closer to Obamacare than anywhere near a privatized healthcare system devoid of government interference and taxpayer funding. Why? Because a majority of Americans now not only expect coverage of pre-existing conditions, they expect someone else to pay for those conditions – which is tantamount to your bad-driving neighbor expecting you to help pay for his car insurance because of all his wrecks and speeding tickets.

Moreover, tens of millions of perfectly healthy people now expect premium offsets as well – be those offsets in the form of “government” (taxpayer-funded, aka: wealth redistribution) co-pays, tax credits, or both. The Democrats know it. As do the so-called moderate Republicans. The true conservatives don’t believe it, which is why they continue the valiant fight.

Unfortunately, the latter is the only group that could have saved the system from itself – by privatizing it, rather than allowing it to ultimately morph into single-payer, government-administered health care. But it doesn’t matter; it can no longer be saved.

Down the road, say hello to England’s National Health Service.

the only solution is to cancel the entire Obamacare deal and go back to how it used to be, and to work only on reducing the cost of health care itself….and to begin to bring help only to those that choose to live a health promoting life on their own….as in, if you smoke, drink, use drugs, are obese, and get no exercise…you pay all of your own health expenses no matter what….and all hospital ER rooms are not required to treat anyone that cannot prove they are in the country legally and who have not already had a baby delivered for free at a hospital in the USA without paying anything.

MAKE the PUBLIC responsible…and make the industry cure itself through the free market….INSURANCE drives UP the cost of medical care because the expenses will rise to the available money for paying for services and products.

ADMIT that the US govt has NO PLACE in the health insurance market other than MEDICARE which was paid for by labor donations and Medicaid for the very vulnerable, unable to provide anything for themselves….and if you are on food stamps and subsidized housing without ever working….no Medicaid….your neighbors and family have to take care of you.

but it is the ONLY affordable solution. that the public will not accept it is how we got where we are…pandering to infantile ignorant immature narcissistic attitudes by folks that do not pay for their own stuff and do without if they cannot pay. HEALTHCARE is not a function of Constitutional Rights for our citizens….and there is NO authority for the govt to take it over…..and the nation CANNOT pay for it anymore.

          • Agreed. We cannot keep pandering to an entire class of people who think that the government exists to give them free stuff. There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth but oh well. I’m tired of paying for stuff for these people anyway.

I agree with the statement. There is no repealing Obamacare the damage is done. The mind set is cemented.

If there is a great awakening (which I believe there are baby steps toward an awakening happening) then there is a possibly of the United States becoming a thinking, moral centered country again but without divine intervention, revolution of the mind and every day people taking control of national dialogue rather than politicians and the MSM controlling the minds and movements of the populace, we are off the cliff.

Never too late to change. The more ppl are employed, the more ppl will be covered under their employers healthcare plans. The only diff between now and pre-Obama is the private market no longer being involved.

Keep the pre-existing stuff, drop the mandate, and start employing more ppl. The employers will go back to what they once did, with a few caveats. The dual systems, like we used to have, will fall back into place with a few adjustments.

No, it is not perfect. But it took 8 years to get here. Make the changes slowly, and it will fall back to where it should be.

All the cretins had to do was make a few changes before, not blow up the entire system. That is why they are stoopid. Why do we continue to elect them?

      Liked by 3 people

    • I don’t know. I know enough people who got screwed by O-care that it may not be too late, so I don’t know that I would say “a majority”. With that said, of course the usual societal parasites want healthcare. They want everything without having to get up and work for it.

The only way we’ll ever know if healthcare will work without gov’t interference will be for the the gov’t to do what they should have done in the first place and GTHO of the market. Premiums will suck for a few years, no doubt. But I’d rather have a functional healthcare system because I’m not getting any healthier. I know enough about England’s healthcare system to know what kind of cluster F it is and I don’t want it here. I remember the debacle in England that made waves online when the NHS decided some dumb stupid woman who went moaning to her Dr about how her life was ruined because she didn’t have big enough breasts got the elective, unnecessary surgery for enhancements while a little girl who genuinely needed surgery to be able to walk again was denied because that was “too expensive” for NHS. Well, maybe if they weren’t giving out things like elective surgery to whiners, they would have money to help children walk again. And that’s not even getting to the whole “not washing hospital sheets between patient visits to save money.”

The majority will have to deal with it, assuming, again, that there is one. People who got fined because they found it was less expensive to get fined then to pay for O-care don’t count as insured, either.

New Orleans police finally round up the remaining three thugs in the French Quarter beating/robbery of two Boston tourists. City’s patting itself on the back over this one even though it appears to be a mix of one thug ratting out the rest. City patting itself on the back so hard it’s risking a dislocated shoulder as it still gas no leads in the second and almost identical beating/robbery just a few blocks away.
Waiting to see if the city, in order to make #2 go away, try to convince someone pegged on another charge/charges take the fall for #2. In return the guy(s) taking the fall would take a hit but only be sentenced on one charge and receive a lesser sentence for both than he would on the charge they had him on in the first place. I’m told it’s a practice ALLEGEDLY used to clear the unsolved crime log in some jurisdictions though I have NO personal knowledge of it being done. Probably a rumor like those stories of crimes being reclassified to lower crime rates…pure unsubstantiated rumors.
One beating victim is still in the hospital, off a ventilator but still in critical condition. DA is expected to file 2nd degree robber charges though it’s unknown if all four will be charged as such…crime carries a sentence of from 3 to 40 years in prison. Interesting story on the noon news about a man in Florida stopped on a traffic violation. While running him on the police system they found he was on probation and was out after curfew. Officers checking his car then tested a white powder and dried leafy substance they found on the vehicle’s floor, driver’s side. Police report they tested the white powder and it tested positive for cocaine. A drug dog was brought in and they allege it alerted positive so they arrested the man on cocaine and marijuana charges.
He sat in jail for 90 days until the reports on the powder/leaf came back from the state labs…neither were controlled substances, one was drywall and the other dead plant material he’d tracked in from his handyman jobs. Oh yeah, police found out their system was outdated and, as he’d said, his probation was long over.
Now my first question in the matter is: how’d a trained officer get a positive indication on the drug test kit testing drywall and dead weeds? I believe that test didn’t pas the sniff test. As for the dog, it’s no secret that detection dogs that haven’t had a positive hit in a while will lie to get that post-hot-hit reward. It’s also a possible that the handler, having already been told the tests had indicated drugs, fudged his response to get a plus in his column and to help out the other officer. Something isn’t right here, someone’s….. not being totally truthful…about how/why this guy got screwed. Hope the arrestee has access to a good tort lawyer.
