I got the boot at a gaming forum for suggesting that not even quilting magazines and websites will be allowed to exist, if they get targeted for, say, not featuring enough quilts made by LGBT or POC. They literally banned me from the site forever. Or for not hiring enough of those Underserved people to push SJWism in my hobby of quilting.
Yep. Here we are. You can’t enjoy your things, people. You must push OUR agenda. Even on a twitter site about dogs. Even at a quilting magazine or website.
These SJW lefties take “You’re either with us or you’re against us” to a whole new level.

And no, I’m not into quilting. That was a hypothetical. A valid one.
Because that’s where we’re at now.

“Why didn’t you put any members of minority groups in your novel, or your movie, or your videogame, or your quilting magazine? I hope you die painfully, soon.” — SJW.
They will never be satisfied. They took every single large institution, from Academia to all of media publishing, and even to the great majority of the Churches.
Now they want Dog-Rating Twitter accounts and quilting magazines.

Approaching the event horizon is interesting to witness.

Another reason for which to celebrate my late age. Calling it an event horizon is exactly what it is. I’m sick to death of those snot nosed, snooty. and self- appointed judge idiots making everything about politics.
As for the future, my son’s entire family are a lot of flaming SWJ’s and they deserve the earth they’re going to inherit. They’re beyond any reconciliation vis- a-vis politically. They wanted me to keep track of what’s going on on facebook (because calling or even texting me is too much to ask) and now all I get on facebook are cats and politics. The warm purriness of cats and kittens aren’t much solace for the impact of the sickening, no humor, mean-spirited, spiteful political posts.
You’re right. It is interesting to watch, if you can divorce yourself emotionally to just how evil reigns. Personally, what I see in this is a regurgitation of political history, with a mindset just between Kristalnacht and making the Jews wear yellow stars in Nazi Germany.
It’s coming. It’s coming fast.

Remember: if you don’t talk about politics at all, you are suspect.
You are supposed to talk about politics, and correctly, and avidly.
It’s as if everyone forgot this simple, horrid lesson from the 1930s-50s.
There are many companies that won’t hire employees who don’t use Facebook or Twitter.
It’s certainly a strange and interesting age. Keep loving.

Thanks, I’m trying. Hard. I can compartmentalize with the best of them and be totally logical about what’s going on, but sometimes the resistance is persistent.

My daughter and I don’t agree on politics, but she keeps her FB account relatively free of political discussion. She and I decided a while ago not to enter political discussions on each other’s FB accounts. It works well.

Glad it works well for you, Stella, truly. In these days it’s easy for politics to divide families. My ggirls are teenagers. Son told me if they knew i voted for Trump “it would not be good at all.” Their rabidity abounds – so does my son and daughter-in-law’s. Might be a blessing i live 2 hours away. I rarely see them, maybe 3 x a year now.
Explained to my eldest – now 19 – what socialism is using the school grades example. She said that was BAD. Told her Bernie was a socialist she snickered and said he was a Democrat. I told her to go look it up. Said she didn’t need to.
Youngest ggirl had a meltdown and was sure she was going to get raped in the halls of school or i.e., dragged behind a car like matthew shepherd because Trump was elected. She went on her fb page and cursed her very christian aunt (mom’s side) and in the most vicious epithetical because she voted for Trump. I think she got a time out for it – she still thinks that stuff, but doesn’t say it.
While I’m at it, I lament all the small children – some who can barely talk – whose parents hatred for Trump is modeled so these young ones parrot not only the words but the hateful emotions. That does not bode well for the future, no matter what our generation does.
Sorry for the rant. It really pisses me off.

The kids in our public schools use emotional ranting and raging in order to DO NO WORK at all….it is avoidance of the hard stuff…like figuring out YOU DO NOT KNOW ENOUGH to make it on your own in the world of adults…..so they shout, rant, rage, ridicule, bully, and stomp their feet.
No one cares about their failure to grow up….THEY will reap the wind.

Watching the slow-motion implosion of my birth state, Connecticut. Ladt year GE said it would move its HQ from CT to Boston and now Aetna, a company that’s been in CT for 150+ years, is leaving the state, pulling nearly 6000 jobs someplace else.
CT has a Ray governor who apparently has the goobernatorial skill of…well…a Rat. He not only didn’t throw himself in front of these CEOs’ cars and beg them to stay, he aoperas not yo have even met with Aetna’s chief.
Aside from being such a great businessman he’s also ignored the suggestions of professionals on how to get the state out of its huge economic slump but is going to spend short tax dollars on rebuilding major city centers to attract business to cities business is running away from.
We have Rat ‘leaders’ trying to micro and macro-manage businesses when they don’t havevthe foggiest idea what business is or how it operates, best they can do is bleed it like leeches.

I read a bit about that this morning.
When your state’s millionaires are all moving to low- or no-tax states like FL, your state has a problem. Thing is, these “States”, governed as they are, don’t consider themselves “states” any more. Vassals of the Federal Government is what they consider themselves to be, letting the productive states give them their everything.
There will be war.

Looks like the state will bail out Hartford but that bailout won’t do anything but kick the problem down the road. CT’s been losing business for a long time but losing two huge ones like GE should be a wakeup call…wanna bet?

The brainless leaders in my little town spent tons of our money on decorative sidewalks and planters for the tiny downtown area. They said the “beautification” project would attract business and tourists. And of course this all came about after they raised our property taxes due to a budget shortfall. I went to the meetings and asked for our money back. Haha.

I’ll put this one out on the Windows system as the iPad is having emotional issues and it appears (see ‘aoperas’ in previous post) I’m too tired to edit well…Windows can be kind.
At least two sources I’ve seen say we should expect more of these small attacks over the next few months as they are easier to launch and, terror-wise, more effective than an infrequent big one. Let’s see if they are right.

I remember when I solved my IPad’s emotional issues.
Solved one of my own at the same time, as I bent it over a steel rail, calmly and methodically, and then again to quarter it. Then, I calmly threw it in the dumpster.
It felt so good. Even now, that good no-Apple feeling makes me tingle.

I liked a few things about the OS on my mini.
I did what I did because I spent 75% of my time on this thing trying to get it to not crash.
I’ve never owned even one book about a Microsoft product. Never needed to.
It just makes sense! It just works! Especially if you’ve known it since MS-DOS was in competition with CP/M for dominance.
Ctrl-C. Because why change it? Everybody knows it already! Ctrl-V. or Ctrl-X? Same.
Funny: every Linux user I’ve ever known has a stack of books about Linux, and their variants, you could build a house with.
Yet I’ve never owned a book about Windows. Or DOS.
As far as I know, MS never patented those key combinations. The ones that everyone knew. Which means that Apple said “screw you, you plebes”. They made this clear in their 90s advertising.
I’ve also never felt the divine need to destroy a Microsoft or Android device, either.

May…..Not new, same old same old. The goal of the terrorist is to change or modify the populations behavior patterns. Most citizens in this country are armed, being armed keeps a percentage of the criminal element suppress, and looking for a weaker victim.
The duty of our government, federal, state, and local is to provide public safety. We must hold the officials accountable.

Morning pattern! I always thought Wrath of Khan was a really weird movie because of casting Ricardo Montalbon (spelling?) of Love Boat fame as Khan. It just didn’t work for me. I loved him on Love Boat, though. DH and DD are Trekkies and I am not. They see all the newer movies and have watched all the old ones and all the various series. I am bewildered by their love of it, but hey… it makes them happy! 😊

Yeah, IKR? Maybe when Montalbon was younger he could carry off the role of Khan, but he was more a caricature in it, I think. And he was absolutely perfect in love boat, just an ideal road for a mature actor with his suave personality and great looks.
Khan, not so much.

I’d kind of like to get consensus from the clan before I give you a firm answer, if you don’t mind that we take that route.
I’ve been concerned that these posts are too long for the blog or irritating to scroll through for those that aren’t interested, so I’ve been trying to pare them down. That’s the upside of posting on a separate post for both you and I.
I’m honored that you would offer, but would you mind if we give it 24 hours to decide?

It’s not that I don’t want to, Stella. I need a bit of time to adapt to the idea is all. I can see clearly that you putting up a separate blog post would be good, but I don’t want you to go to any trouble (I’m not sure how it would work. I would make the first post??)
I also don’t want to take any of your traffic by starting a blog of my own (and am terrified at the idea, frankly, so that doesn’t seem to be an option.
I’ll cogitate 😉

Don’t worry. As to how we could do it, you could send me an email or, if you prefer, put it in the General Discussion thread.
You could start your own blog. I warn you – it can become more work than you anticipate.

Ok, How about I put it in the General Discussion thread and you move it to a separate post and link? I think the formatting will remain the same that way. People may or may not shift windows (I always have beau coup tabs open) and we can see where it goes from there.
Thanks for the suggestion and the offer. I’m not so concerned at all about taking any credit, but I don’t want to seem to take over you blog.
Another advantage to having a link to another of your posts would be that I could send you an email earlier and I wouldn’t have to stay up waiting to post here. I’ve never quite known whether to post early or later!
OK, I’m in. Starting today, I’ll send you the list and you can do your blog magic.

Beginning of the battle of Midway, 1942.
June 4th, seventy-five years ago today, 5:45 a.m. local time, a patrol plane radioed “Many planes heading Midway,” and the world changed.

Well it has come to the point where Sky News reporting on an enemy attack in London could easily be mistaken for Saturday Night Live. I am laughing out loud.
A reporterette is interviewing one of the witnesses to the London Bridge attack. He said he saw people on the ground. She asked ‘im whether he thought they might have been victims. He kind of looked at ‘er for a minute. I thought he might say, “Well I thought they might have gotten tired and decided to lie down for a snooze.”

Have a good day lovely. It’s raining today, so I guess I’ll just sit around and be lazy.

It’s raining (misting) here today, too. I have to get ready for my kitchen and bathroom floors to be replaced starting at 8:00 AM tomorrow. They are going to take the appliances out, so I have to get everything out of the fridge that could spill or break and make sure the dishwasher is empty before I go to bed tonight.

Hopefully they show up with the right flooring. lol
We finally got our house put back together. Now we just need it to stop raining long enough to move everything off the porch and paint the porch floor and we’ll be done with all the house stuff this year.

I’m in an apt. I get what they want to give me. LOL I saw it in another apt and it looks so much better than the linoleum that is down, I asked for it. What I have now has been down for a long time and and been damaged by who knows what. I can mop it and it doesn’t look much better.

Seen on lucianne.com:
Theresa May has said there is far too much tolerance of extremism in our country and that its time to be more robust in tackling it. She said that would require “difficult and embarrassing” conversations.
Is she wising up, or just sucking up before the election?

I cast my vote for suckup. Her lead is none too large for comfort.
The other question is, who are the conversations going to be “difficult and embarassing” for? If she’s going to stand my kumbayah, it’s the wrong side.

It seems to me that people avoiding the hard confrontations cause a lot more problems for us. I do not like them, but you sometimes have to go ahead and butt heads to get to where you need to be.

“In the face of this terror and hatred, we will stand united. These acts of hatred cannot divide the British people from the non-British people who are killing them.”
These conversations should be embarrassing for May and the rest of the British-blood hating liberals who let them all in at the start of all this. They should all be put in prison for the rest of their lives, for treason against the nation, the Crown, and the British people. The real British people, I mean. Not the ones made “british” by virtue of standing upon magic dirt.
“Shoulda made our own bloody kebabs.” — Some British racist who lost a young daughter to Islam’s innate, inevitable depravity.
Miss May, you did this. And as long as Islam is allowed to exist in England, you will get more attacks like this. It’s inevitable, and any sane person who knows Islam knows this.
It’s going to be “difficult and embarrassing” for May and the rest of the Progs when they realize this and have to publicly admit it.

Time for a Terrorism Accord, Not a Climate Accord
https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/2017/06/03/time-for-a-terrorism-accord-not-a-climate-accord/
Yes, there’s a threat to civilization and it’s not global warming, manmade or otherwise. And anyone who isn’t comatose should know what it is.
Islam, like cancer, needs a cure. And we all have to participate in the search for one before it’s too late.
Yes, this is about Islam, not “radical” Islam or some other off-shoot, real or imagined, because the tenets that have inspired the non-stop spate of terrorism across the world in recent years are spelled out clearly in sections of the Koran and the Hadith and other holy works of Islam. They provide justification for ISIS and a hundred other groups that may or may not replace them, now and in the future. This cannot continue — unless we really do want to destroy ourselves.
To be clear, this is not about bad people (many Muslims are fine human beings), but about a malignant ideology from the seventh century that must be expunged for the survival of all.

New ISIS Command to EAT Infidels Has Islamic Roots
https://pjmedia.com/homeland-security/2017/03/06/new-isis-command-to-eat-infidels-has-islamic-roots/
In light of recent revelations that the Islamic State is teaching its followers to eat non-Muslims, surely we can now all agree that — at least with this — ISIS is truly not Islamic?
Alas, no.

For Koranic discussions on the legitimacy of dining on long pig see 2:173 and 16:115.
“I ate the infidel’s liver with fava beans, some falafel, a little pita and a fine khmar.”
So, in keeping with what seems to be a theme, “Hey, fundamentalist Islam…EAT ME!”

Watching CNN…don’t ask…where some Mideast commentator is chatting with a Hollywood Squares formstion of (literally) talking heads. Heads are sort of put off about how terrorists are conducting business on the internet hiding under the US 1st Amendment.
Ah yes, that element both domestic and European, that believes our Bill of Rights is long outdated and certain Amendments, most notably the first and second, should be….modified to meet the times.
Their irritation with our Bill of Rights goes back decades, nothing new, but while it was mostly a curiosity it’s grown to a real force. The EU has been adamant about its taking control of the internet and shedding that 1st Amendment irritation, having a committee of approved experts determine what’s acceptable and allowable for on-libe content.
Watch for more controls on free speech in general, not control of Islamic militants. Free speech is the latest diversion from the issue of Islamic terrorism, Islamic terrotists and prog apologists are finding more and more common ground.

Listening to endless London coverage I just noticed a spokeshead say that the attackers last night ‘had been on the government’s radar’. The Brit government had said that about the Manchester bomber too. Note how quickly the Brits rolled up associated terrorists/helpers AFTER each event, very heavilybsuggesting that the Brits had the entire net on their radar before the attacks. Sorta just like what the FBI’s said about Moslems who’ve perpetrated attacks in the US bavk to and including 911.
So WHY do the Brits and US have these Moslem terrorists ‘on the radar’ but don’t react until the atrack takes place? Is there a threshold of acceptable bodycounts that must be crossed before we can take action?

Great idea! Bring them to my place, immerse them in my pond and hug ’em till the don’t come up. That’s inclusion and total immersion.

Exposed: How world leaders were duped into investing billions over manipulated global warming data
The Mail on Sunday can reveal a landmark paper exaggerated global warming
It was rushed through and timed to influence the Paris agreement on climate change
America’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration broke its own rules
The report claimed the pause in global warming never existed, but it was based on misleading, ‘unverified’ data

This is genius –
To fight climate change, start with Leonardo DiCaprio’s private jet lifestyle
https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2017/06/04/some-modest-proposals-to-fight-climate-change-glenn-reynolds-column/102489538/
First, we need to tax the “blue zones.” That is, we need to impose steep taxes on property in coastal areas that will be flooded by the sea-level increases that global warming is supposed to bring. By discouraging people from living or building there now, we’ll save ourselves from big problems in the future. Sure it’ll drive down property values, but those values should go down — they’re values for property that’s going to be flooded anyway, remember?
Second, we need to ban taxpayer-funded air travel to conferences. State legislatures could ban reimbursement for travel outside their states; Congress could require that no federal grant money be spent on air travel to conferences and similar events. A lot of academic conferences would fail, but that’s a small price to pay for saving the planet. And besides, it will encourage the development of Internet-based conference alternatives. A whole new industry might result: Green jobs!
Third, we need to ban private jet travel. At first I thought about just taxing it heavily, but with the planet at stake, that might not be enough. It’s nice that John Travolta can have his own Boeing 707, or that Leonardo DiCaprio can jet around the world speaking against climate change, but the carbon emissions involved set a bad example that outweighs anything he might say. So no more private jets. Bigshots will just have to fly commercial like everyone else, the way they did in the 1950s. (And sorry, Leo, but massive yachts have to go, too). Politicians, too, should have to fly commercial. No more government-funded “executive jets” for them.
Fourth, we need a luxury tax on mansions. Any home more than twice the size of the average American home should be taxed at 25% of its value per year. Celebrities and the rich enjoy great powers of persuasion — but with great power comes great responsibility, and they have a great responsibility to set a good example for the rest of us on climate change!
These proposals are just the beginning, and I’m sure that enterprising members of Congress and various state legislatures can come up with more. But the important thing is to set a good example: Treat climate change like the crisis you say it is, and maybe more people will believe that it really is a crisis.

Excellent. That is how it should be done.

Re: conferences, etc – got that covered. Universities are now torrenting their huge files and many online courses, all non-classified stuff could go the same way.

Video conferencing was conquered two decades ago. The elites really need catch up with the modern world.
They may all stay home now in their recyclable solar tents in the Sonoran Desert.

It would appear the EU is beginning to cannibalize itself.
Economic sanctions are being considered against the “inferior” recalcitrant Eastern European states.
Pull quote – ” the practical implementation of such an idea will not just prevent all of the EU states from being “safe and prosperous” but result in the gradual disintegration of the European Union itself as a result.”
http://journal-neo.org/2017/06/04/europe-of-two-speeds-implies-there-s-inferior-members-within-the-union/
It would seem those Eastern European communist memories just will not go away. Now is not that odd?
Putin, China, India, the U.S. – which suitor to choose?
Hmmm…

Brother and I drove a 4 block radius around his house one night, with me holding the laptop (pre hot-shot cell phones) and of all the houses with internet, only about 60% had any security at all. Probably a test that should be repeated, but I’m willing to bet it’s still easier to drive through a neighborhood to locate free wifi than it is to find a McDonald’s.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
