I don’t know why, but I’m not that fond of blueberries (to me, they are just “okay”.)

I much prefer raspberries and strawberries, and I really like cherries and peaches in pies, jams etc.

I love raspberries and cherries too. My usual go to pie is cherry, but I’ve always loved blueberry muffins best, along with smoothies. For some reason I never made a pie, but man was it ever good.

I love raspberry tea so much. There is a tea room in my little town and they make the best raspberry tea. I have tried and tried to duplicate it. I’m seriously tempted to try to go to work there to get their recipe! For one thing, they don’t ruin it with sugar, it’s fresh and tart, just as it should be. My home state is known for its peach tea, but I like the raspberry so much better.

My husband doesn’t like raspberries much, but I love pretty much all berries. The trick and trouble is finding ways to enjoy them that aren’t so packed with sugar. Like my pie. 😦

Fresh ripe raspberries (or strawberries, or peaches, for that matter) don’t need sugar. A splash of cream is nice, though.

Chef makes his specialty, a flourless chocolate torte, for a dessert. Put sliced strawberries on a slice, on a small plate, then drizzle with creme englaise and caramel out of squeeze bottles. Or raspberries.

Or — wait, peaches? Ideas… habanero peach sauce drizzle? Oh, man.

In the summer I so love a good peach smoothie, and peaches are not my favorite.

Once there was a peach cobbler disaster of epic proportions. This young bride peeled and peeled and peeled and pitted peaches for hours to make her new husband his favorite dessert, peach cobbler. Then she made a biscuit topping, like her mother in law told her to do. Now, this young bride had not yet mastered biscuits, and hers usually didn’t rise well. This time, the biscuit topping rose up out of the pan, about six inches thick, and stuck to the upper elements of the stove. and spilled over the side of the pan.

Her husband and his brother attacked The Thing with forks, yelling “I know there must be peaches in here somewhere!” as they tossed out chunks of biscuit. Never were peaches used for baking again in this bride’s house. Going on 41 years now.

              The End. 😀

Peach cobbler isn’t my favorite either (although I like it). I like my peaches ripe, sliced, with a little cream or ice cream. Either that, or made into preserves. We get good peaches here in Michigan, but they must be ripe and local (my opinion.) Peaches just don’t ripen correctly on the counter. They are either picked too green, or refrigerated during shipping.

When I worked on a farm in NH, I mowed a lawn with a riding mower in the heat of summer. There were three peach trees, ripe as can be, on that huge lawn. Every time I passed under one, I coaxed a peach to drop.

Those were the best peaches I’ve ever had.

You should introduce him to Joe Bonamassa. He’s Jimi’s spiritual successor, and probably the best living guitarist and bluesman today, up there with Clapton and John Mayer in skill and soul. Clapton and Mayer would agree. So would Satriani and Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen and Billy Gibbons.

Gibbons told the crew at Daryl’s House (Daryl Hall) about meeting Hendrix at a hotel, where Hendrix had brought his whole giant console stereo with him. When Billy walked in, Jimi was constantly replaying a section on the turntable, and asked Jimi, what are you doing? Jimi said “Listening to this Jeff Beck dude. Trying to figure out how he did this!”

Gibbons was amazed, and said, “Dude! We’re all trying to figure out how YOU do what you do!”

The only valid reason to watch television is Live From Daryl’s House.

The list of amazing episodes is endless. We’re in a music renaissance right now.

You know why? Because Pop TV and Payola Radio doesn’t control it any more. We do.

George Michael quit for three years, breaking contract, because he wanted to make his own music, and not what his label wanted him to make. He and Kurt Cobain both ended up dead because they were told, “This is what you have to do.” by their labels.

Those days are gone. The power of Record Inc. is gone. Thank God.

    • To be brutally honest, I don’t care if the expenses are exactly what the media is claiming. The media seems to think that after the crazy excesses of the Obama administration, that I am actually worried about how much Trump spends.

With that said, i am not surprised that the media is lying. It irks me, but I’m not surprised.

My gripe of the day. We had internet through a local company, the only one who works out here that isn’t satellite internet. They sold the company, apparently they sold it once without us even knowing it and then that company sold it to Rise Broadband two years ago. We got a letter in the mail saying nothing would change. Several weeks ago we got a message saying we had went so much over our data usage, we have always had unlimited data. Called them up and asked what the heck they were talking about and were told they had put us on a data plan, after arguing with 3 or 4 people was finally told a manager would call us the next day to see what could be done. During this time with nobody being on the internet they had sent my husband’s e-mail, which he was accessing on his phone’s data, 4 different e-mails saying we were x amount over our data now with x amount in data fees. It kept going up without anyone even being on the internet, the router wasn’t even turned on. I called back before the manager called and told them this was bs and was told maybe a neighbor was using it, they couldn’t quite grasp that for one it is password protected, it isn’t turned on and our nearest neighbor is too far away to pick it up.
Manager calls the next day and says we weren’t supposed to have unlimited data, that they do not have an unlimited data plan and an audit showed we had fell through the cracks. I read the letter we had received and was then told they did not know when they bought the company that all the plans were unlimited data and they only had to honor that for one year. Told me the plans they had and I told them I did not want their plans, I wanted what I had always had and to turn it off. They then argued with me about turning it off and said I had a signed contract with them. I informed them I had never signed anything with them and had not even signed a contract of any kind in over 6 years and that was with the original company and it was a one year contract.
This was over the manager’s head who had to transfer me to someone else, it took 3 people to finally make them understand I was not keeping their service if they couldn’t provide me with what I always had, because I wasn’t going to be on a data plan when they were saying I was using data when the router wasn’t even turned on. Finally I was transferred one last time to someone who could turn it off who then tried to offer me one month free and begged me to sign a new 2 year contract and then got rude when I refused. Then wanted to come get the equipment, by this time I wasn’t too nice and told them they couldn’t have the equipment because I paid the $149 equipment fees years ago and the router I purchased at a store myself and if they sent someone into my yard they would be bit by my dogs.

I have now heard of several people around here who has went through the same crap with them and I guess they think after running off all their customers that posting signs all over the county, including probably fifty down one road will get others to sign up.
So, no internet for me until they get fiber installed, which seems to not be happening anytime soon, construction was supposed to start in February and be finished by May, then got moved to April and supposed to be finished in July and now construction has stopped until May.

Don’t ever get Rise Broadband, they are horrible. When it goes out it takes them forever to fix it, they never send you a bill, so we signed up for autopay and then they wouldn’t draw out the money and send us cut off notices. Every month it was calling them and having to give them the card number again because they would claim it wasn’t on file, this was the final straw.

I’ll live without internet except for the limited cell phone data I have until fiber gets here. I just won’t be able to check in that often.

Good thing is now that we’ve finally recovered we’re getting lots done when we don’t have the internet to waste hours on. lol

Grt Hughesnet and receive the same crappy service but with rotten satellite coverage and offshore service personnel who can’t speak intelligible Ingrish.
Over eight years ago the USDA had a program that was supposed to bring high-speed internet to rural areas. They tossed a few billion $$$ at companies to bring it and Hughesnet got the prime contract fir our area. I found out about it thru my job with the USDA, it was in our national ‘pat yourself on the back’ propaganda blurb, it was never widely released to those who could use it.
I soent weeks chasing down the contacts, finally had to call folks I knew in DC who pointed me to an office thst managed the orogram, it was run by one woman on a largely parttime basis. Seems funds dustribution and all of the details had been worked out son as the bill was signed. She gave me the poc for my area, at Hughrsnet, and for about five years we suffered thru what was just a wee bit better than dialup.
In the meantime ATT was burying fiberoptic cable all thru our heavily rural county. Cable passes by our farm, as it snakes miles down our ‘one fatm every mile’ road, with no one hooked up. Suspicion was that they used the Federal monies to bury the cable but when I called ATT they even denied there was any cable there. I offered to take a pic of the many orange ‘do not dig, ATT buried fiberoptic cable’ poles along the road but their denials didn’t soften. Now the FCC has exactly the same program where they’re going to give commo companies more billiobs to do the exact same thing. What I’m waiting for is the commoncompanies to start hooking us up and also charge us for bringing the cable to us…parse the government program and it doesn’t say ‘hook us up’, only ‘bring the service to us’. Also doesn’t say we can’t be charged for what the government’s already paid them to do.
Verizon built that tower just about a mile from us so now we have a ‘hotspot’ that gives us about 12 gigs of 4-G and, after that, unlimited 3-G. It’s turn-of-the-century and we’re limted to what we can do but it beats Hughesnet in cidt and reliability. No longer do we lise reception whenever a gassy buzzard glues over and, when I switched over from ATT to Verizon on my cell, I could make a cell call without having to walk 200 feet down my driveway!
Just problems we havevto deal with for the pleasure of living in the woods.

        So what gives?

Hell I should have a Michigan Bridge card. I always told my dad I eat when I work, and won’t take free state money. He said, “Other people, who don’t work nearly as hard, if at all, as you do, are dipping their cup into the well. You should. You pay to fill that well.”

I don’t think any of us have an issue with a state safety net. I believe the issue is with those who use the welfare system as an occupation. People caught in a bad spot are far different than those who are fourth generation public housing/welfare/food stamp parasites. Makes me think about having to cover for EMTs in the projects who were having to trundle 400 pounds or heavier residents down multiple flights of stairs to an ambulance for dialysis treatments.
Anyway, these support programs have a place but they’ve turned into currency Democrats use to buy votes. We now have an entire subculture of dependents who’ve apparently lost whatever desire to native desire to strive and have become Rat domesticated.

              Agreed 100%.

We should always support the vulnerable in society we should not make them more mentally, physically, circumstantially stuck and vulnerable by actually rigging the system to demoralize them and breed hatred in them causing generation after generation to subsist on government lies, whims and their own crimes.

I whole heartedly believe the old adage pity breeds contempt. Our society has been told to pity this person or that person after our government has deliberately made that person an unhappy dependent of the sate to get their vote.

People don’t want to be pitied even if they have been manipulated into being puppets of the state by a sub-par existence and their families have been destroyed because of their own culture and choices.

I don’t pity Wooly for a second I’m sure nobody here does. I admire what he has overcome and I am sure we only know the tip of the iceberg, I think he is amazing for pursuing life and rightness, goodness and godliness, when many people would have given up or become jaded and perpetually angry. I admire his work ethic and his spirit. I hope he takes whatever money the government has confiscated from hard working Americans at the end of gun as soon as he can get the whole bureaucratic boxes checked off.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu. We pray for France, and for the safety of Marine Le Pen.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

There are some pictures of the woman who was assaulted. She has horrific bruises. I hope she doesn’t have any other problems.

I can’t remember what that article said the charges were, but my friend here in Florida said a minor was charged with extra charges because of an assault on a senior. So there is hope. I wish this would help, but I am not sure it does. 🙄

” (1) A person who is convicted of an aggravated assault or aggravated battery upon a person 65 years of age or older shall be sentenced to a minimum term of imprisonment of 3 years and fined not more than $10,000 and shall also be ordered by the sentencing judge to make restitution to the victim of such offense and to perform up to 500 hours of community service work. Restitution and community service work shall be in addition to any fine or sentence which may be imposed and shall not be in lieu thereof.”
        (2) Whenever a person is charged with committing an assault or aggravated assault or a battery or aggravated battery upon a person 65 years of age or older, regardless of whether he or she knows or has reason to know the age of the victim, the offense for which the person is charged shall be reclassified as follows:

        (a) In the case of aggravated battery, from a felony of the second degree to a felony of the first degree.

        (b) In the case of aggravated assault, from a felony of the third degree to a felony of the second degree.

        (c) In the case of battery, from a misdemeanor of the first degree to a felony of the third degree.

        (d) In the case of assault, from a misdemeanor of the second degree to a misdemeanor of the first degree.

        (3) Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 948.01, adjudication of guilt or imposition of sentence shall not be suspended, deferred, or withheld.

I am glad he is out. But, I really hate it that he found out the way he did. That shouldn’t have happened.

They personally sent someone to FBI headquarters and Comey wasn’t there. Apparently the AG’s office had no idea where their FBI director was! Comey was a rogue. Then then tried to contact him electronically (email, text), so who’s fault is that.

      Good evening Aus 🙂

I believe that Comey is a political genius, a very dangerous chap, he is as slippery as an ice hill, his presser where he said basically Hillary is a criminal buuuuttttt “meh” was quite something. He is very sharp, I’d love to know his IQ and he is very good at reading people and putting on a face that if you didn’t know the truth about him you would have a hard time believing that he was a corrupt manipulative, bought and paid for shill for team Soros.

I am quite pleased with the way he found out which is possibly from a mean spirited place in me or possibly from my inane scrupulous want of justice. Comey has inflicted great great harm on our country, he has spit in the face of Lady Justice and ran cover for several of the most evil people on earth.

I am tickled pink that he found out the way he did because it caught him and his moppets and his masters so off guard. They weren’t ready for the rube Trump to flatten Comey with the first punch in the first round, this is as shocking to them as Hillary’s defeat. Let it rattle all their brains. And may they all be rattling bars as they call for their jailer because their toilet has overflowed in their cell.

      I will now renounce myself.

Well, when it comes to all things political, I am definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I wonder if many of the things that he did was on purpose, so that he would get fired. He just wanted out, and couldn’t quit??? Meh, maybe he was a psychopath…

          Good morning amwick 🙂 .

IMO Comey is much like Obama.

Silver tongued and charming to the deceived, unpalatable to the informed. I would bet my little dog that Comey has an IQ at least 50 points higher than Obama. Obama says “Tell me what to say and I’ll say it” to his masters Comey says “Give me the information and I will make it as palatable as possible.” Comey knows he is lying, Obama believes the lie (even when he knows he is lying). Two sides of the same coin. Remember Comey worked for the Clintons long before he became FBI Director.

I honestly believe Comey was the most dangerous man in DC until yesterday. Yesterday President Trump stripped Comey of his power. There will be Clinton/Obama/Comey loyalists in the bureau but they I hope are out numbered. I have barely watched any TV over the last week or been online. I’ll catch up next week.

I am beginning to believe more and more that President Trump has a lockbox that would make the information Dick Morris has look like stealing a gum-ball.

I am so happy so many people are praying for the safety of POTUS.
