Re The Destruction of Confederate Memorials in New Orleans

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten,

“every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed,

“every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute.

“History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

― George Orwell, 1984

It’s like the Islamists in the ME who have tried to destroy all remnants of the past. Those historical places they destroyed are gone forever!

A local university has already made it harder for researchers to get into collections that have information on black Louisianans who owned slaves though if you dig around on line you can find pre-Civil War Louisiana censuses that list slave owners by race.
The Northeast states have already, if you’ll excuse the term, whitewashed thrir slave and racial discrimination history, it’s now all about the South.

Some large NE Unversitys have white washed this subject. Local Historical Society’s have not.
Also going back into the middle of the 18th century, the term for whites was indenture servents. Large land owners did owned slaves. First US census, there is a column for slaves owned. In Washington County, PA formally Virginia territory, early census also had columns for slaves.
Your point is well taken though, Heinz History Center in PA will not entertain requests from us rubes, only certain researchers are allowed……..

Yeah, you go and tell the PC-washed that New York passed a law in 1799 freeing children of slaves born after July 4, 1799 but it wasn’t until 1817 New York passed a law freeing slaves born before July 4, 1799 but they weren’t actually freed until 1827 and they look at you like you fell from the sky.
Slavery has been (here’s that word again) whitewashed until it’s just about the South, the only hand the North had in it was the hand of righteousness in ending it in the South.

As I pisted on the day, the mayor had the first and most contentious memorial moved on Confederate Memorial,Day, secretly, before dawn, by masked workers wearing bulletproof vests as police snipers did overwatch from surrounding rooftops.
This was largely theatrics on the mayor’s part, out trying to show the socially conscious public that he was defending the progressive agenda from revanchist, racist, redneck, gun-totin’, tobacco chewin’ white bubba longing to bring back the antebellum South. Of course while the men were out there facing the posdibility of being shot at by these bubbas hizonnah was at some place safe and warm, far away from the possibility of his most valuable personage getting a scratch.
He’s trying to breathe life into the possibility that somewhere in the states political structure there’s enough folks who don’t think of him as a bootlicking toad to elect him to something other than the mayor’s office. He’s spent much of his life living off the public trough as a politician, let’s see how far he’ll get with the states larger population after this statue fiasco.
There’s a lot of new money in town post-Katrina but there’s also a lot of old cotton, antebellum mobey and thevstatue issue won’t sit well with them. Mitch has also made an enemy of one of the most competent, professional and wealthy people in town. We expect this individual to run for mayor as he’s been ramping up his media presence and both hinting at running and bladting Mitch’s policies. Mitch is trying to use the cash in his campaign chest to establish a poltical dynasty in the city, to carrynon hisvlegacy – think a white Obama. Problem is the Rat party in the city isn’t the big, white behemoth it used to be on his daddy’s day, it’s heavily minority and their agenda ain’t necessarily what his is. There’s also the issue of crime getting back to its worst historical levels under him and crime is near-and-dear to the hearts of locals, just ahead of potholes. Of late the city’s addressed the crappy roads but the mayor putting removal of Confederate statues ahead of crime is sure to come back and bite him.

Aftet hizonnuh da mayor promised the city council that no city funds would be used to remove the Confederate monuments it was disclosed today that city firemen and city equipment were used in the job. Seems the chief of the city’s firemen’s union blew the whistle as many firemen objected to their being used under circumstances out of their job description and having to wear masks and bulletproof vests while doing it.
This is a surprise as the city cheated the firemen for years on their pay. Over some 30 years in court from local to Federal the city continually lost, the courts ruling that not only did the city owe the firemen back wages but decades worth of interest on those wages…compounded. City squeaked and whined about the judgement until the courts said if the city didn’t pay up they’d put the mayor in jail over the weekends. City found the money under a couch cushion, worked out a payment schedule with the effected firemen and their heirs. Now the mayor who was ready to go to jail rather than pay the firemen what thry were due is uding them as bitches in his attempt to establish a legacy.

This has going on for some years now, behind the curtain, now these a$$hole leftists are out in the open…..
where’s the monument to the black militiaman who stood with his company at Lexington? Where is the monument to the black guy who led his fellow neighbors at Bunker Hill and killed Maj Pican as the Major rode into the trenches?
Sad day, for our Country….very sad day.
