I was thinking about going into the Federal Reserve Bank in New Orleans and telling them I self-identify as a millionaire while handing them the routing code and account number of my checking account. Better do it quickly before all the Obama crew be gone.

Well, all righty then – and that being the case, I identify as one of your dearest friends and only living relative.

We sure all missed the boat thinking we had to allow reality to be a primary factor in our lives, I guess.

      Or something.

      Makes me crazy.

      The whole world is crazy.

This weekend I had the following three conversations:

#1) my Sis-IL says to me, “(My son) and I have concluded our house is bugged because no matter what we talk about, the next day or a couple of days later, the thing we talked about is on Fox News. The government is listening to us, too.”

Oh. Now I’m not much fun in those kinds of conversations because my next question was whether or not they had considered hiring someone with debugging skills to find the bugs and remove them. No – hadn’t thought of that…anyway, it’s just really serious – my other suggestion would have been to turn the TV off, but what do I know. (This is seriously a tragic mess with potential consequences for her Down syndrome son in his late 20s…..consequences I can’t bear to think about….)

#2) I met my new neighbor. Later another neighbor if I had met Cindy. No. I had just met Bonnie at the new move in place. So I ask, “Who’s Cindy?” Neighbor says quietly (watching me closely) “Cindy is Bonnie’s wife.” Oh. Ok.

Now – I’m here to tell you that I checked my heart and my thoughts to be sure I wasn’t being a Christian jerk. Nope, I wasn’t. I was not and am not “offended” and I don’t feel one bit inclined to go to preachin’. But that does not mean I can imagine moving through the luau in total comfort next month. And there’s no way I’ll miss it. Just have to brush up on situational awareness and doing what my mother always told me to do, “Your mission in life is to make people happy.” (See how that simplifies things, if applied. BTW, that is no longer my mission – such a mission will get ya killed dade…..)

#3) Yesterdau afternoon I called #`1 Son in Denver (prez of the Marine biker dude club) to tell him I had had a wonderful (no time to tell it now) 45 minutes conversation with #1 grandson in Las Vegas. I only wanted to give a very brief report in any case, and he apologized for the considerable (LOTS) of background noise, saying by way of explanation, “Mom, sorry it’s so loud in here. I’m at a fundraiser for a guy from another club who was killed a couple days ago defending a girl who was being attacked. Talk to ya later….”

      The whole world is crazy.

If anyone doesn’t understand that living requires the grace of God, they just aren’t paying attention. Matthew 5:3 in the NEB says: “Blessed is he who knows his need of God.” Count me in and help me, Lord, to continuously know my deep need of You. I do know and desire to continuously, effective KNOW that.

I’m going back to bed now.

      Mornin’, Czar and all.

      • Morning Sharon. I don’t know much about Down’s Syndrome. How will the situation you described affect their son? And if it’s a problem, why don’t they just stop watching TV?

I’ll just butt in here (sorry Sharon) to say that I think she is insinuating that her SIL is losing her marbles. Probably some kind of dementia. If so, what happens to the disabled son?

          Liked by 2 people

          • Oh, that would make sense too. Like I said, I’m not familiar with Downs Syndrome so I didn’t know if there was something about his mother having a freakout every time Fox started talking about something they’d already discussed was bad for the son or not.

        • Sharon says:

Her husband died unexpectedly three years ago, about ten days after my husband (her brother) died. She and her husband had labored for years to have themselves made legal guardian for the Down son which is not easy to get done in many states because the state never assumes that parents are capable of caring for disabled children. If her trolley keeps leaving the track in this way, at some point she will be declared unfit and his guardianship will revert to state management. Not good.

They do not “stop watching TV” because, in lieu of dealing with life as it really is, they enable one another (she and the older son) with endless drama, visions of grandeur, and super-spiritualizing everything that to around them. They want to watch TV – it feeds their circular thinking.

Sorry I left out a lot of detail. It was simply the quiet (there was nothing “freakout” about her report – she was quietly and deadly serious about her sense of reality – and that is I found highly disturbing. I was very kind to her on the phone and spent some time praying with her before we hung up. She is quite isolated these days because she and her older son have completely worn out the extended family who simply don’t have anything more to give. That’s more than I have any right to share about others’ private struggles –

I forget that some newer readers here don’t know me well enough to take at face value what I say and in the internet age, that is my mistake. My apologies. The combination of those three conversations on three successive days, just blew a couple of my fuses. I will replace them soonest.

Yes. I have compassion for where she has found herself, which is why I take time to listen when she calls. She’s pretty isolated. So I listen and am present. I will never be a physical or financial port-in-the-storm because in this case, the storms will never end and I have neither the strength or resources to be a primary resource for them…it’s become a way of life for them.

This kind of consequential confusion is also part of what is generally called deception for people of faith: the kind of deception they have accepted is energy-sucking and life-destroying.

Ahhhhhh….now you mention crazy….did I mention I’m working on a VA claim for myself and, when I called the VA call center two weeks ago I ended up with whom I can only believe was Indian as his accent was so thick I could barely understand him. Coulda been worse though, coulda been an Obama-hired ISIS terrorist on hiatus.

Regarding your #2 issue (an apt term), I lived in NOLA for so long the ‘other identities’ sort of just became background noise. I even had them in my military unit and the brass just ignored them, and with the various organizations Czarina and I worked with they were everywhere. I just adopted the position that their problems were their problems and no mine. As long as they didn’t try to force their lifestyle on me or try to enlist me into their support groups we could work together, judging them was God’s job and not mine. There were too many of them anyway and I had too much to do. There were instances where we were marched into mandatory classes on ‘correct thinking’ where the ‘other’ lifestyle was officially fed to us as ‘normal and acceptable’. Great paid nap time.

Ahhhh….Denver….lost many braincells there, especially at the Bull and Bush. Your son picked what I consider the best craftbrew beer city in the US. I particularly liked the Sandlot at Coors Stadium as the altitude made the great beer go farther. My son and I still have a rep at a few places in Aurora…I even think the restraining orders have been lifted.

At the moment I’d just take identifying as about 20 years younger and full of energy. I’m tired, chased a 2 year old around half the day Saturday while mommy and daddy took little sister to the ER. She’s fine, she had an eye infection that is just about all gone now, but Dr. told them to take her in when they called him in case she was getting an upper respiratory infection and she’s too little to wait until Monday. Saturday evening/night had to go to Arkansas and didn’t get home until way past my bedtime.
Sunday birthing season started, which kept me hopping all day into the night.
Today, it was more birthing along with going with my daughter to Gracie’s appointment to make sure her eyes were fine. Then we made the mistake of going to a consignment sale with a 2 year old and infant without a stroller and they had no shopping baskets. It was being held in a huge building and thanks to a 2 year old boy with way more energy than his Nanny, I got to see every inch of it. I was worried that Gracie doesn’t really cry a lot, well when her mommy goes to the bathroom and she’s in a place she doesn’t like she does have ear piercing cries. My daughter informed me she does that every night about 3 a.m. lol

Tomorrow should be really fun, mommy has to go to the doctor and Nanny will find out if she still has the ability to deal with a 2 year old and infant. πŸ™‚

I just saw an article about a young man, early 20″s I think and not too long out of college maybe, some kind of school. He moved to take a job, things were good for awhile, then went south with his car, and maybe job too. His car was also broken into, then he totaled it.

Anyhow, long story short, the kid set his Prius up (I know, but bear me out) to live in. There were pics. He had it unbelievably organized, lived pretty well, near work and a YMCA where he showered. Anyhow, He says where he lives he saving over a thousand a week and giving himself a future.

Wish all young people were this smart, and this able to make lemonade out of lemons.

          Squirrel Problem
The Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrels. After much prayer and consideration, they determined the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn’t interfere with God’s divine will.
At the Baptist Church the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistery. The Elders met and decided to put a water slide on the baptistery and let the squirrels drown themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week.
The Episcopal Church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God’s creatures. So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist Church. Two weeks later the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water slide.
But the Catholic Church came up with a very creative strategy. They baptized all the squirrels and consecrated them as members of the church. Now they only see them on Christmas and Easter.
Not much was heard from the Jewish Synagogue, but it’s rumored that they took one squirrel and circumcised him. They haven’t seen a squirrel on their property since.

  9. Apropos of nothing, I found Starry Heavens by day after tomorrow on iTunes over the weekend. I was so excited because I love this song. It’s Japanese pop and it’s really good.

    English lyrics:

If you found a shooting star falling through the sky right now
    What would you wish for?
In my heart I always hold the promises
    We made when you left

On nights when I can’t sleep, I want to hear your voice
We talked until the morning sun came

Your profile beside me, talking animatedly
    Shone

You, chasing your dreams; and me, watching out for you
We’re both bathed in the light of the same stars
Choking back tears, I saw you off
Telling you to walk away without looking back

If you found a shooting star falling through the sky right now
    What would you wish for?
In my heart I always hold the promises
    We made when you left

I want to be able to hold you all the time
I quietly hide my growing sadness

Since then, the flow of time
    Began to irritate me

But if I pour my feelings into the bright star
I can turn them into a strong love
And surely even the miracle you’ve created for yourself
    Will become something certain

If you found a shooting star falling through the sky right now
    What would you wish for?
Your words come back to me
β€œNo matter where we are, we’re connected”

You, chasing your dreams; and me, watching out for you
We’re both bathed in the light of the same stars
Choking back tears, I saw you off
Telling you to walk away without looking back

If you found a shooting star falling through the sky right now
    What would you wish for?
In my heart I always hold the promises
    We made when you left

The talk is that they may have to pull up the carpet and jack-hammer the concrete from the wall to the table, and who knows how much farther. If they do this, I will have to leave until they finish the work. 😦 I am trying to figure out what this will all involve for me. I guess I will find out later today. They are still working.

While everyone’s runnning around trying to change the public’s perception of police the Louisiana State Police are out crawling thru the underbrush again.
Ladt October the head of the LASP Internal Affairs Division and a gaggle of at least 15 troopers and employees went to the IACP cobference in San Diego. One would think they’d fly there but nooooooooo, they took dtate police vehicles.
Hmmmmmmm, you’d think that driving to San Diego they’d get on theI-10 right where they are in Baton Rouge and head west in a straight line to San Diego, right? Nooooooo, they ‘dropped by’ the Grand Cayon and Las Vegas, not exactly in a straight libe.
Ahhhh, it’s a police conference…of sorts…so you might say they were eligible for regular 8-hours per day pay, right? Noooooooo, there were vouchers put in for lots of overtime, including driving to the sidetrips, attending the side trips and partying at the conference.
Ahhhhh, but they used discretion and stayed at the hotels in San Diego thst offered concention rates! YES…partially. Seems some of the brass stayed ay $300 a nite suites befitting their regal positions.
The investigative reporter who uncovered this is still racking up the totals but the driving there alone cost the state about six times more than flying them there would have. The questionable charges, not the least the overtime, are being investigated and people arevtap dancing all over the place.
The reporter cornered the Colonel who heads the State Police who was SHOCKED!, yes SHOCKED!, this had occured and said hevhad no idea who had suthorized this and eould IMMEDIATELY! Start and investigation to grt to the bottom of this.
Don’t get ahead of me here…Buried in the stack of paperwork the reporter received in his Freedom of Information request was a document authorizing the trip but the signature of the signer was illegible soooooo the reporter started comparingnit to other signstures from the State Police they had on file…..if you guessed the authorizing signature was the Colonel who heads up the State Police, you know Louisiana.
The Colonel is sorta incommunicado at present though a spokes-straw dog did offer up that Even now, with just four months left in the state’s fiscal year, the LASP still hasn’t spent all of its travel
budget. Now, in a state with a monstrous budget shortfall looming and critical services already cut to the bone, thst the State Police is still working on wasting its travel budget so they won’t have to return any unused money to the state.

Because they can. We have,in the military, rank and brass who start to take their command positions a bit too seriously, the perqs of their positions are pushed and pushed until they feel they can get away with bigger and bigger stuff.
There are ex-LASP who know the big boss and they say he thinks of himself as untouchable. Big cops all over in the state feel like that, largest frog in the pond, and every now and then one crosses someone who spills the beans and I’m sure that’s what happened here.

Meandering through the seaweed garden today, found a neat little weed.

Seems my AI competition way back when was Robert Mercer, who, according to the Guardian, is now “at the heart of a multimillion-dollar propaganda network” that backs Pres Trump, whom we all worked so hard to elect. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/feb/26/robert-mercer-breitbart-war-on-media-steve-bannon-donald-trump-nigel-farage

Is a very long article, full of psycho-nological psycho-babble, fear and loathing. Laughed through the entire piece.

Well done, Andrew Breitbart. Thank you.

Seems Oscars have hit their EEO stride…why didn’t Kimmel thank Trump for pushing PCness in the Academy by helping push the inbred voters to pick non-white and Moslem winners? Oh, that’s right, Jimmy be too busy making fun of the non-white winners’ foreign names.

I was hoping that Shiloh would check in today. I have been watching. I just feel so sorry for her. And, tonight I was talking to a friend who suggested rabies. I would imagine that she keeps her dog’s shots up-to-date, but I can’t figure out what could have caused him to attack her.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

I saw a segment of the Oscars on FOX on some show. Kimmel brought in some “normal people”and welcomed them. (probably actors) It was to show that they were “inclusive’. The actors on the front row made a fuss over them, etc. It was disgusting.

I tried to find a clip of it, but failed. I have trouble believing it really happened. SMH
