Alright. We made it to the end of another week. A few bumps and bruises along the way, but school was in session on Thursday. Coffee up, get through today, and maybe Miss Wee will let us have the keys to the party room later tonight. 😀

My little doggie threw up last night, too. But, it was before we went to bed. She has been acting a little funny so I am taking her to the vet here in a little bit. Just what I need, another bill. 😦 But, I want to find out if something else is wrong with her. She might have worms or something. We’ll see.

BTW, speaking of theme, yesterday when I went into ‘town’ I had ‘our song’, Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, on the car stereo (do the young and hip still use that word?). You can get some looks going thru a BK drive-thru window in rural Mississippi with that playing on the stereo. Then again, like having your own mentally challenged squirrel, it’s entertainment.

Just talking about this with a S.O. Rank yesterday. Looking at how many officers on SOs or PDs were military combat vets. How many had faced determined shooters in multipkes throwing lead directly at them, not some gang banger throwing a few shots at them as a diversion to help a getaway, but dedicated shooters whose primary goal was to kill them.
How many have had to stand, take the incoming and return effective counterfire? Soeaking of counterfire, what are thry going to do when trained, armored and well-armed attackers come after them and all they generally to respond with is their sidearms or a shotgun? They’re out there, they’re being trained, equipped and familiarized with their targets, it’s just a matter of when and not if.

Czar, this, among many, many other anecdotes, is why I nod respectfully to cops when they pass me, and why I shake their hands and thank them when we meet.
It’s funny. I used to be paranoid around cops, a long time ago.
Funny because it’s amazing what happens when one attains knowledge.
I still wish I could shake Darren Wilson’s hand, and shine his shoes.

All LEA are pulled from the general population so you get goid cops, mediocre cops and bad cops and the system is supposed to eventually winnow the bad ones out. In any event, the bad guys won’t make any distinctions when they start their winnowing.
But then it will all be the fault of the racist, xenophobic Trump administration.

Rallied around our disable track, wounded and some youngin’s like me we dug in. Speaking of food, my daughter was telling us a funny last night. The last day she was in the hospital, not knowing for sure what time for sure they’d get the release papers for both her and the baby, they asked her if she wanted a lunch tray.
She looked at her husband, questioning him if he wanted to stop on the way home and eat. He told her she could eat in case it was later when they left.
She said the nurse gave him a dirty look and her a sympathizing look, like she had to ask his permission to eat. She said she knows now in her electronic file it will say she’s a victim of domestic abuse because she had to have permission from her husband to eat. lol
I told her the good thing is they lose everything anyway. lol

I’ve had hospitals as clients before and some of the brain washing their employees’ and staff go through is jaw dropping. One wrong thing said and nobody gets to go home based upon the judgment of an angry and misguided beauty school washout.

What I don’t get about hospitals anymore and it seems as if all of them around here that I’ve been in do is promote and follow everything WHO.

I don’t believe so. I can’t say all the staff buy into it, but it’s fairly obvious the hospital administrators do.
I get the strong urge to start ripping down posters when I walk into a hospital, but figure they would put me in a straight jacket, so I resist the urge. 🙂

When I use the local hospital to have tests done for my regular hospital I have the attitude that I am a customer, not the hospital’s beeeatch. I am not humble or deferential and demand respect as their sole purpose for being is to wring as much money from my insurance carriers as they can.
I think my favorite reaction to the registration questions, when they ask me whom I’d like them to call if there’s a problem while I’m there, is the look on their faces when I give them my lawyer’s name and number.

My daughter did get lucky this time and had great nurses for the most part. The last day though she had to deal with the paper pushers and counselor types.

Generally it’s the admin puke types who are the biggest pain. For whatever reason they ask the same questions each time, not storing the answers. I’m going in to pee in a cup and they need to know my religious preference (as if they have militant Pentacostals or Krishna crawling thru the potted plants) or if I have a living will? Good heavens folks, I’m just leaving you a few ounces of precious bodily fluids (remember that one?), just how incompetent are you?
LikeLiked by 2 people
I don’t think they store it because they do everything electronically and one push of the wrong button and it’s all gone.
I’m hoping once Obamacare is gone, if it’s ever gone with the way congress is dragging their feet, that all the bs questions will stop.

She ended up not eating. She said it sounded good on paper, beef roast, carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, roll and blackberry cobbler. It just didn’t taste or look like roast and that the carrots weren’t orange and that you could have used the mashed potatoes for glue, the blackberry cobbler looked like jelly covered with ellie may biscuits.
She ate a lot of takeout while in the hospital. lol

Yeah, hospital kitchens are a scream. More than once Czarina has marched back to the kitchen, food tray in hand, when the diet she’d ordered for her patient was 180 from what she’d ordered. When my son was in the hospital I had to check his trays as he was on a sharply restricted diet and was frequently sent the wrong thing. And people wonder why tort lawyers drive such nice cars.

When my mom was in the hospital the last time (almost 20 years ago), she told me how much better she was treated when I was there. I spent as much time as I could in her room with her. She had serious heart failure, and they had her in a single room next to the nurse’s station, but still.

One time when my father was in the hospital, it was at a smaller hospital. The food was wonderful. I had the most delicious fried chicken. When I asked them about serving fried chicken, I was told it wasn’t. The skin was removed and it was baked. It tasted exactly like my mother’s fried chicken. I found out that people went to the hospital cafeteria for lunch, it was so good.

When my father passed away, it was about 8:00 AM and I was there with him in the hospital. I waited 3 hours and many requests for the doctor to sign the paperwork so he could be picked up and I could leave. Finally I got really mad and went out to the nurses station and told them to give me the paperwork, that I would sign it because I had been sitting there watching my father and he hadn’t taken another breath so I knew he was dead. The stupid doctor was there in 5 min. I guess they figured I had flipped out.

It was the same when my sister died at home, no papers to sign, hospice called the funeral home.
I guess there were papers at the start of hospice because I remember them asking my brother-in-law about which funeral home and if he had made arrangements, organ donation, etc.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I know that didn’t happen, because I called the funeral home myself, and they sent a local funeral home to my house to collect her body. When she died, the woman from hospice came, and she called the local police who informed the medical examiner that all was okay (I don’t know why that was necessary). They took care of the paperwork.
LikeLiked by 1 person
My brother-in-law with the help of my mother had planned her funeral in advance. I think all hospice cared about was making it easier when that time came to do all the phone calls.
I remember the hospice nurse telling us the funeral home would be there to pick her up after my brother asked who we needed to call. She was there when my sister passed away.
I don’t know if the police or medical examiner was notified.
Even when prepared, your still kind of in shock. I didn’t think a lot about it at the time, but later realized how nice it was that they did take care of all those details.
I’m not sure what all my bil had to do to sign up with hospice other than the little bit I heard the first day. After reflecting back on that it was also very helpful that they came to the house for all of that as well.
It was a much different experience at home and at the hospital. If I remember correctly it was less than a hour when they picked my sister up or at least it didn’t seem that long. With my brother it was over 3 hours because my mother wouldn’t leave the hospital until the funeral home picked him up. I do remember them saying something about the medical examiner having to release the body, which I thought was strange because he wasn’t in possession of his body.

I was in your mother’s situation. I wouldn’t leave until they came to get him and I couldn’t get the doctor down to sign the papers.

In our case it was the medical examiner or so we were told.

I think the Medical Examiner has to say yes or no on whether an autopsy will be required, or if the doctor/hospice cause of death is adequate for the death certificate.
In my mom’s case, we already had a burial plot, and I knew which funeral home we would use ahead of time.
LikeLike
That was the same with my sister, everything was already planned because we knew the end was near.
My mom and bil had went that morning to make the first arrangements and hospice came the first time that afternoon for all of their paperwork.
The final preparations weren’t made until a few weeks later.
She had a few hospice nurses who weren’t the best, but overall it was a great group of people. It has to be a tough job though.

I am still employed while he is retired (and refers to himself as a drone and a kept man). But of course he moves the snow in winter, chops and stacks all our wood, and does the mowing and weed-whacking in summer. And makes my life easier in a thousand ways small and large. He is a wonderful man, and I thank God for him every day of my life.

Great ‘coffee on the patio’ morning. A wee bit chilly but the lake was glass smooth, reflecting the trees like a mirror, and there was the slightest trace of fog hanging over it.

Yet another ‘africanized’ bee attack in Arizona. Shouldn’t we be renaming these bees with a less pejorative sobriquet? After all, why should one equate an African origin with violence?

I distantly recall discussions next door about how Trump’s plan, if done right, would make illegals self-deport.
“People who work with immigrants in Canada say these border-jumpers would rather be arrested in Canada than live in fear of how U.S. officials might handle their cases.”
Good riddance! (With apologies to the regular Canadians who are now having to deal with it, but that’s only a formal apology. Welcome to what we Americans deal with all the time.)

Shouldn’t be a problem for Canada as I believe their plan to increase the populationl 1% a year by immigration is still in effect. With the joint Latino and Québécois reticence to speak the majority language it should be a snap to fit the Latino reimmigrants in. Shall we start a fund to buy them tickets?

One of my Canadian rellies tried to lord it over those of us in the United States regarding immigration, and how they are taking in more immigrants that we are. Several points:
1. Canada is larger by area than the United States, and the United States has almost ten times the population of Canada.
2. Canada has a larger percentage of white, European, people than the United States.
3. The United States has a much larger percentage of blacks than Canada does.

1. Population of Canada: 35.85 million (2015). Population of USA: 321.3 million (2015).
2. About 79.1% white in Canada, 74.8% in United States.
3. 2.9% blacks in Canada, 13.6% in the USA.

Forgot to add: In the United States the government pays the full freight for refugees, while in Canada at least 1/2 are supported by private funds.

I am absolutely certain that most Canadians have NO idea what the problem is like here. I remember about 10 or 15 years ago a crooked travel agent here in FL was telling them they could go to a small town in Canada and they would be taken care of. True. The first family went with probably 6 kids and were treated very well, put in the system and supported. I believe it was week or so later, many families more, a busted budget, and they started putting them on planes and sending them straight back to Mexico. There was no way to support large number of illegals.

Okay, the new complaint in the media is how much President Trump is spending for travel and security, including for his family, and how he will outspend Obama ten times if he keeps up this pace over FOUR WEEKS. Articles in the Chicago Tribune, Denver Post, Politico, Atlantic etc.

The most astonishing thing that I have seen since the day Trump was Inaugurated was how liberals became, almost by magic, fiscal Conservatives.
Odummer spent money like water and not a peep out of them, but Trump spends a dime and liberals want a full accounting of how it was spent. These people are looneys.

Here is the Chicago Tribune article.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/politics/ct-trump-lifestyle-taxpayers-20170216-story.html
Here is my comment from Facebook (one of several):
The article said that the Obamas spend $97 million on travel-related expenses over eight years. Also in this article, it says that AF1 cost $200,000 an hour to operate. Since it is 9.75 hours each way on a 747 from DC to Hawaii, the cost round-trip just for air fare is 3.9 million dollars, times eight trips, is 31 million dollars, for AF1 alone on 8 trips to Hawaii. That doesn’t include the other large transport that carries other vehicles etc., security costs. I think 97 million is a very small estimate.
Remember the year that Obama and Michelle took separate planes to Hawaii? She went first, and he followed. That may have happened more than once.
I also pointed out the ski trip every year that the Obama women took to Colorado, the trips to Spain, South Africa, London, Italy, and China that Michelle, family and friends also took without the President.

Forgot to mention that Malia Obama spent three months in South America late last year (with a security detail), and is now living and working as an intern in New York (I think it is for Lena Dunham’s show), complete with security detail. First, I wouldn’t let my 18 year old daughter anywhere near Lena Dunham. The expenses are added.

I hurt the feelings of a liberal on Twitter tonight. He made a um, remark, about Trump that I won’t repeat here because I found it to be in poor taste. (Extremely poor taste.) So I told him to grow up and that if he had an argument against Trump to make it. (These are the people who were so bent out of shape over Trump’s locker talk all those years ago? Really?)
Well, this snowflake was upset that I called him out for his comment. He’s a very special snowflake, lemme tell ya! No argument, just that I’m disgusting for judging him. LOL.
Still waitin’ for a coherent argument. Not holdin’ my breath.

I’m about ready to start trolling him, since apparently, since I was the one who thought that his tweet was disgusting, it’s my fault that my mind went there (you should see his other tweets. You should, but I don’t think you want to.)
He says that “everyone agrees [Rhea is] disgusting.” I’m about to thank him for the free publicity.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

Next plan to get rid of President Trump (impeachment is too slow):
Byron York: 25th Amendment chatter: Dems, pundits mull ways to remove Trump
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/democrats-and-pundits-mull-ways-to-remove-president-trump/article/2615212
So now, there is increasing discussion of the 25th Amendment. The 1967 amendment, which has its roots in the Kennedy assassination, covers ways to replace an incapacitated president. Up until now, its most-discussed provision was a measure by which the president could inform the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate that he, the president, can no longer perform the duties of office, whereupon those two officials would declare the vice president the acting president, until such time as the president informed them that he was again able to perform his duties. The amendment has been used or considered for cases in which the president underwent surgery or was under anesthesia.
Now, however, The Resistance is looking at Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, which would allow the vice president and a majority of cabinet officers, or the vice president and a majority “of such other body as Congress may by law provide,” to declare the president unable to serve, making the vice president the acting president. If there is a disagreement — say, the president believes he is able to serve and the vice president and a majority of the cabinet or the other body don’t — then Congress decides who will be president. Here is the text of that portion of the amendment: …

The Left is living in an alternate reality. President Trump has literally caused them to go mad.
I haven’t watched CNN or MSNBC in months because they are dangerous lunatics who fancy themselves warriors and should;t be rewarded for their terrible behavior.
Today I decided to see how big of a meltdown MSNBC was having after Trump’s presser, (still can’t or won’t watch CNN even to laugh at them) anyhow, Rachel Maddow was on 🙄.
I know she is a wacko on a good day but she was out of her mind.
Maddow was preaching to her choir about how the Melania Trump lawsuit against the Daily Mail, was actually part of a larger cabal of dictator billionaires who are trying to silence news outlets and Maddow’s evidence is that Melania is using the same attorney that Hulk Hogan used and that lawsuit bankrupted Gawker so there is now one less news outlet available to the American public. Maddow tied this all into Trump being a big ole meanie to the press.
Sheer lunacy abounds.
