I’m sorry, but this insistence on French translation is annoying. I would bet that there is nobody in Canada today who does not speak English, even if French is their first language.

I haven’t watched yet but will – and will take sandandsea’s suggestion to mute and just read captions.
Trump is everywhere every day, isn’t he? He gets an awful lot done, effectively.

During the press conference, one of the reporters reminded Trudeau that he should respond both in French and English to her question, and she was a bit snotty about it. That is what prompted my comment.

That’s exactly what happens in the UN with Ukraine and Russia. The Ukraine revolutionists spoke only in Ukrainian during the sessions and demanded translators even though everyone understood and spoke Russian.

Well, it’s not exactly French, French either. Even in France they would need subtitles.

But it’s still more French-French than Cajun-French. Though the Cajuns seemed to have maintained and expanded on the French-French’s abilities to eat things a coyote would reject.
