    Morning Stella, all,
Been about a year now that for me, this fantastic ride on the Trump train began. And what a glorious year it has been. What set him apart from the others is his honest and unrehearsed responses to the challenges brought to him daily. No fear in him. Straight shooter. Probably for most here as well.

Also why I like this Place. Although there is time for play, the no bs set forth by the people here is pleasing, along with the small, quirky community who come by daily.

Enjoy your days y’all, so much fun yet to be had.

    So, to recap.

In the last 9 years, I learned to: Epoxy grout. Crank out dishes like John Henry cranks out stone. Paint 4 businesses’ interiors. Pressure wash a couple, and the decks. Remediate basement flood damage four times, 50 gallons each time. Prime and paint the exteriors of two. Epoxy paint (with sprinkles!) the basements of two. Fix every sort of faucet, pipe, and toilet in all four. Cater like a mo-fo, and all the myriad work that implies, from plating to back-end cleanup. Prep every sort of vegetable and soup and gravy recipe. Tear out huge drop ceilings, and the insulation above them, and all the grids and hanger wires. Work on scaffold to clean iron trusses for painting.

Be on call for 9 years, because I live next to the joint. (One of four.)

I got paid $10. An. Hour.

I tell new kids that their job is to make the boss profit and to minimize his losses.

I should also have told them work as hard as me, and you’ll get paid as much as me.

They get paid $10 to start. And be on Facebook and txting half the day. Without a single thought to whether they should be cleaning baseboards or floor drains or getting the FOH ladies some freakin’ ice.

    How could I not quit?

Today’s the first day of the Mardi Gras season, Twelfth Night or as the now more secular and diverse city government calls it ‘King’s Day’. It was officially kicked off by the mayor, at the head of a slickly dancing Zulu group, looking for all the world as if he had a stick surgically implanted you-know-where and was wearing starched pants, trying to look comfortable as he led the parade.
Tonite the Phunny Phorty Phellows will parade by drunkenly riding street cars down their usual routes, officialy marking the start of the city’s yearlong booze fest.

I remember one rare year in Dallas of freezing rain, and then snow on streets…no salt or plows, or course…but the locals put TIRE CHAINS on the cars…sounded like a battalion of Tiger Tanks coming at you….until someone hit their brakes, and of course skidded and took out everything in their pathway…..we wanted to hold a contest Dallas vs Atlanta over who was the stupider about driving in snow.

I’d vote Atlanta! The Interstate speed limit is 55mph. Nobody goes slower than 80. They think they need to go even faster to get home because they have to go to the store and buy all the milk, bread, and booze so they don’t starve. They fight in the store over said food and drink. The snow melts next day… It’s supposed to be 60 degrees next Wednesday.

I live in a rural area, so our road doesn’t get plowed! It’s was plowed once in 20 years! The snow never stays long enough.

We have four cars ranging from a ’97 through a 2016 and all have manual trannies. (I’ll pause here for the inevitable jokes…………………………..)
We had to have the dealer go and pick up the ’16 manual Ford about 100 miles away as it was the closest one, no one drives a manual any more. I figure that if I get carjacked I’ll have time to draw, clean, reload and aim….probably go out and get a burger too…while the skel tries to lurch away from the scene of his downfall. Woulda gotta manual pickup truck to but they are almost nonexistent.

In 1988 we had to order a Jeep Cherokee with a manual transmission. My husband wanted it, and he also said he wasn’t going to let it u kids not learn to drive one, and they would be starting to drive a couple years after we got the jeep.

My dad bought and sold used cars all the time as a little side money, so he always had at least five or six cars and trucks. I begged to learn on an automatic. He looked at me and said “If you can’t drive a straight shift, you can’t drive.”

I learned in a VW bug. I was terrible until I had to drive it to work. Every day I had to stop in the turn lane to make a left. I killed the engine every time. Then, I had to turn the key completely off and on again to start it. I sat at that turn every day for two weeks crying before I could make the turn until I finally got it right. Then, I loved to drive that car.

Once a girl sitting at a red light in front of me suddenly hit the gas and rear ended the car sitting in front of her. I asked the girl who was hit if she would like me to stick around to be a witness. She laughed and said no its was no big deal.

So I left. But not before the idiot who hit the girl in front of her asked me if I had run into her 🙄.

Here we go the Chicago 4 were all on the path to Sainthood.

Defense attorneys portrayed the suspects as hardworking, responsible and religious. Cooper, for example, takes care of his twin brother, who is in a wheelchair. Tanishia Covington has two small children. Her sister attends college and has a job. Hill, the judge was told, goes to church with his grandmother.

All four have experienced brushes with the law, some for serious and violent crimes.

The victim Austin Hilbourn is schizophrenic. That is a little different than being mentally disabled or slow, these savages could have caused this poor kid to have a psychotic break.

I haven’t watched the video of the abuse.

I hope all 4 of them are incarcerated for the rest of their natural lives.

I love them because who else is gonna? And because I was loved first. That’s one of the many reasons this story hits close to home. Not because I’m white. Or a Trump supporter. But because I know many in this poor guy’s station, and was there myself for years, and “…there, but for the Grace of God, go I…”

I hang out with that guy. We play video games, listen to a lot of music.

So my friend has a daughter who is a bit tightly wound about the food her children consume. No refined sugars, no dyes, nothing processed, if it says “organic” it must be good good good 🙄 !

Anyhow her 3 year old daughter started daycare and she came home and told her mom that it was someones birthday and that the mother brought purple cupcakes with sprinkles for the whole class! The little girl went on and on about how terrible it was to give little kids cupcakes with purple dye in them and sprinkles! A regular mini version of her mom.

The little girl was so passionate about the horrors of this mom bringing purple cupcakes with sprinkles that her mother asked her ”Well did you say anything honey?”

The daughter responded “No, I ate two to be polite” 😄
