Getting ready to watch it Colonel. Last night when I came home from work I was under a beautiful moon. Once I opened the roll up door at work to check out back and it was just hanging right in front of me. We get a little better view of her after the leaves have fallen up here in the woods. Takes some hours for it to be high enough in the sky to see clearly.

Ugh! Adult children creating lots of drama tonite. The libs are trying to silence the Trumpers at Thanksgiving. Want no political talk. After watching their Messenger conversation I am like, Screw you all. No turkey dinner here this year. Just stay home and I will spend the day chasing your Dad around the house instead! Talking of President Elect Trump, who is all of our president, is not agitating. Sons went and got themselves pretty, cute little things for wives only to find out after the nuptials they are really flaming azz liberals. Ugh! Watching sons turn into —- closet conservatives to please the wife is heartbreaking.

Hogs have hurt the turkeys around here, they raid their nests for eggs and will eat the chicks. We used to have turkeys in the yard (my old ‘turkeys on the roof’ post) but have seen none since the hog increase. So far in about 4 months of concerted hog reduction we’ve taken out over 50 but you still see them walking around the fields and up and down the roads. Imagine how much damage an omnivorous 150-poundish hog can do then multiply that by about 30 per square mile.

Well I really thought I might be uninvited to Thanksgiving dinner, as it turns out my BIL (host of the get together) voted for Trump. You could knock me over with a feather. Of the 19 members gathering there are three of us who are Trump supporters the about 10 of the Hillary supporters are vocal in their ignorance. If they talk politics I am undecided on what I will do. One idea, bring out a rape whistle and start blowing it every single time and then say “Sorry! I thought I saw Bill and Hillary Clinton peeking through the window.”
Anyone who knows me in real life knows that there is a real possibility of me doing this 😎. I’m a patient person but a line has been so boldly, ignorantly and dangerously crossed that extreme measures are called for IMEHO.

Tomorrow we’re going to my mother-in-law’s house, and her BF. We’re eating dinner, and then going to a balloon rally/glow.
This is the guy I previously grumped about, just an ignorant oldie who doesn’t understand what is going on in politics, is a bit effeminate, thinks he’s a car guy, etc.
The good news is, his brother will be there, who’s much, much worse. He’s from Hawaii. My wife asked if I was going to be OK going over there. I said, “of course. The real question is will they be OK with me going over.”
My wife asked, “Are you wearing your Trump hat.”
“Of course. I don’t leave home without it.”
“I wish you wouldn’t wear it.”
“I can stay home, if you’d like.”
“Just don’t start a fight, OK?”
We’re going to the fairgrounds. Should be lots of people there. Probably lots who won’t like my hat.

Our families are all over the political spectrum from far left to far right but as few speak to each other, never mind sit down at the same table, family dinners are not an issue. Family holiday dinners are so much easier on the psyche when you have it with the pets, their agenda is clear simple.

OP-ED: Dear Liberals: Not Everyone Riots After Political Setbacks, Just You
Let’s get the nomenclature out of the way right up front: they’re not “Trump riots.” They’re Clinton/Obama riots. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama could shut a great deal of the violence down by speaking out against it, with passion and without qualifications. Neither of them has done so, as of Friday.
The media could help by demanding Clinton and Obama speak up, but aren’t. They could punish both of them for indulging the rioters by staging Special Reports with dramatic music – America Under Siege, Day 3 – and hounding every Democrat official who passes before their cameras. You know damn well they would do both of those things, if these were Trump supporters misbehaving – or even peaceably demonstrating – after a Clinton victory.

Getting down into the 40’s at night here, high thirties some places. We have fires all around us now, smoke is hanging everywhere, no one knows where the next one is going to be. I heard they caught an arsonist who was starting some of them. I hope they hang him from any surviving tree. It would kill me to lose my forest. The cabin is a part of the surrounding woods, and it needs them. I need them.

I know the fears, we have a volunteer fire department about 8 miles away but even with help from the others in the area we have thousands of acres of forest around us. We’re cutting back heavy brush around the bunker, leaving just a forest of spaced individual trees. That will reduce the potential but we still are getting pumps to fight any fires with our lake water. Just one of those things you trade off when you move to your personal heaven.

Getbthe make/model off of the safe, go to maker’s website and see what the fire rating is. Should give you temp and to e certified at that temp. Why not rent a storage locker outside of the fire zone and proactively put things you don’t want to lose and pose a ‘last minute packing problem’ into it?

We just moved all this stuff out of storage. And this thing is still like 5 miles away in the National Forest. I am going to focus on just some small treasures.
The other thing I have thought about is just asking a neighbor to give us a heads up if there is any actual concern. We can be back in 7 hours and grab small stuff. My husband and I are not physically able to deal with large furniture anyway.

We have a couple of pieces that have made it thru the various wars and whatever in Europe to here, from sometime in the 1700s and I’d hate to see them go. We’ll rent a U-Haul and we’ll haul. We’re still able to wrestle the big stuff so that’s good as the few others out here will be busy with their own stuff.

Yup, acreage around the house is our old suburban lawn writ large, many of the trees we grew from seeds and cultured at the city house in anticipation of having a little bit of ‘there’ here. We have one white oak outside of the bedroom window that we grew from an acorn from a tree at our neighbors that Katrina destroyed.
We have pumps and are getting some larger ones, we’re thinning trees so that we have fewer hardwoods that will spread laterally and maintain shade but limit the fuel available in a fire but, in the end, it’s really out of our hands.

Come to think of it, I’ve never saw a protester in the country.
The worst we ever get are those darn cross country bike riders once a year who think they own the road. A few of them got bumped and knocked over this year, they only ended up with scratches and bruises, so I was told. However, they were darn lucky because where it happened was on a curvy hill and if the car had not been going at a snail’s pace because they were unfamiliar with the road it would of been worse. They said though the woman wasn’t given a ticket because she wasn’t speeding and they were riding on the wrong side of the road.
I’ve been saying for years now it’s stupid to have this road on their route, it’s narrow, lots of curves and lots of hills and they’re idiots who think they can ride 6 to 8 wide.
I miss the old days when bicycles had to get off the road when cars were coming.
My DH has never hit one of them but he threatens to every year and he’s been a little rude and honks his horn at them when they won’t get out of his way. lol
LikeLiked by 2 people
When I lived in NC is the first time I saw a bicyclist who thought he owned the road. We were on our way to mass, driving on a winding hilly road and I came around the corner and there is some dope right in the middle of the road. I slowed down and taped my horn because I didn’t want to run him over, so he pulled over to the far right and I drove past him.
As I’m driving past he screams a profanity and gives me the finger. I was so shocked I was going to pull over and wait for him to ask him if he would have preferred that I just run him over rather than make him aware that a vehicle was going to flatten him if he didn’t get out of the middle of the road.
I had our three little girls in the car and my husband pleaded with me not to stop so I didn’t but what moron.

These folks who sign up for this cross country ride every year seem to think we should all stop everything so they can have their sightseeing tour and be as thrilled as they are.
Drives me nuts, but we only have to put up with it once a year.
I always see them painting the little arrows on the road a week or two before and threaten every year to buy spray paint and change their arrows. 🙂
Someone sort of stole my idea this year. The day before they were riding through here, someone more respectful of the road used sidewalk chalk and wrote at several arrows different messages. “You don’t own the road!”
“You must follow traffic laws!”
“Trucks are much bigger than you!”
“We really don’t care about your fun, we need to get to work!”
“We really don’t like you!”
Cracked me up, I accused my husband of doing it, but he swore he didn’t, but that it had him laughing all the way home.

When Obama was elected (both times) I was very unhappy because I knew he would push the country as far left as he could. That doesn’t mean I struck out at relatives and friends who supported him, or rioted in the street, or sat on the couch and sucked my thumb. I got up and went to work, and vowed to do all I could to prevent him from doing it.

Looking at MI on the county dot map, it looks like the only counties that went heavily for Hillary were the ones with Kalamazoo, Dearborn and Detroit.
And the rich NPR libs on the Lake Superior coastline, naturally.
Even Kent County (Grand Rapids) went heavily for Trump.
Looking at the whole map, it seems that every county where lots of people get lots of free stuff and money from the taxpayers? They voted for Hillary.

I was looking at the possibilities of libs who’d so fouled their California nests they’d left for cleaner pastures over the last 40 years and, like roaches, concentrated. You also have your ethnic centers where concentrations of Latino immigrants would cluster to take advantage of the available socioeconomic support systems.
Time for Trump to start getting millions of Europeans who are sick and tired of their little socialist paradises and who have a work ethic and education to flock here.

Yuh know, if Trump REALLY wants to root out abuse of the public by crooks and charlatans I suggest he look hard at the manufacturers of digital printers and the @&£*# ink they sell. I paid $50ish for my name brand multifunction printer, right off the store shelf. I just had my cyan ink cartridge go south and even though all of the other cartridges are half or better full I can’t print until I replace the cyan cartridge.
I hardly ever use anything but black, 99% of my printing is letters. So I presume that somehow the printer sneaks color inks into the black process even though the ink dock has a double-sized black cartridge in it. Minor irritation that it is I go out to the closest big-box and look for a cyan cartridge only to discover that the only way to get one is in a combo package with all of the color cartridges. So now I’m facing paying just over $50 for a small package of ink cartridges, roughly as much as I paid for the printer. So if I were to find my current printer on sale, as I frequently do, it could be cheaper to buy a new printer with a full set of color AND black cartridges installed that to buy those same cartridges outside of the printer. I just went and bought a kit and am refilling the empty cartridges myself.

We had a Brother printer that was mainly used for faxes and that thing was costing a fortune in ink, like you since we never printed anything in color I always wondered how the color ink always ran out and it wouldn’t let you print black without replacing the color cartridges.
Got a Kodak and it was even worse on ink, got an Epson it wasn’t quite as bad as the first two, but still we were spending too much on ink.. Got an HP and it’s not as bad, but just like the other three the color ink is always the first to need replaced.
At least with it we can find off brand ink cartridges at our local computer store that are about half the price.
The Brother, Epson and Kodak went through so much ink we got rid of them before they died. We’re going to live with the HP until it dies, but will probably see if we can find an all-in one of a different brand the next time.

UGH! Waaaaaay back when I had the secure commo site we had a line printer that had about 132 vertical bars of print. Each bar had the alphabet, numbers and symbols and each moved up and down at high speed printing out messages. Some spectacular jams.
Remember them thar daisy-wheel printers with the metal or plastic wheels? How ’bout them wire print heads? I just try and remember that the entire process isn’t personal, it’s just business.
I was thinking that as cheap as Walmart pens are in bulk it just might do me more better to buy a case then stop right next door and see if any of the guy in the Home Depot parking lot has really good handwriting.

LOL!!!! Yup. It’s the disposable razor cartridge business model. The manufactures watched what happened with HP InkJet printers in the 90’s and have gone to a proprietary model with “intelligent” ink cartridges that won’t work if they have been refilled.
They make them with air holes so they dry out even if you don’t use it. I have the same thing and have paid way more in ink than I did for the multi-function photo printer.
Sad thing is the new printers are so insecure that I’m locked into the ever increasing price of the cartridges of my discontinued printer.

Insecure you say? Now you can sign up when you buy a new printer and through the magic world of wizards the company will know when your printer is low on ink and abracadabra send you new ink cartridges.

Bloody Marys today and Venison Burger BBQ this evening. Fun at last. TARD disorder is striking liberals…
Signs and Symptoms:
People with Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder are characterized by a persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again. Individual sufferers often display signs of paranoia and delusion; in acute cases psychotic episodes have been observed. Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder is different from being upset about the results of the 2016 presidential election; People with TARD are unwilling or unable to accept reality, despite irrefutable evidence.
According to the DSM-V, individuals with TARD exhibit most or all of the following symptoms:
Telling others they are moving to Canada
Fixated on fantasies about the Electoral College
Protesting an election no credible source contests the outcome of
Exclamations that “Someone” should do “Something”
Sudden weight gain
Acute change in demeanor from pompous and arrogant to fearful and combative
Claim that anyone who disagrees with them is some combination of Racist, Sexist, Bigoted, Homophobic, and Actually Hitler
Causes and Mechanisms:
Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder was directly caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. For many, both in America and worldwide, this was a shocking and unexpected outcome; their preferred news sources having failed to inform them that the alternative candidate was a criminal parasite in such ill health she got chucked into the back of a van like a kidnap victim.
Research is ongoing, but TARD appears to correlate closely with the following environmental and behavioral factors:
Membership in the Democratic party
Identifying as a Feminist
Currently enrolled in college, and/or
Possession of a Liberal Arts college degree
Cuckoldry
Living in a densely populated metropolitan area
Massive student debt
Spotty or non-existent work history
Hipsterism

“However entrancing it is to wander unchecked through a garden of bright images, are we not enticing your mind from another subject of almost equal importance?”
[from Ernest Bramah, quoted by Dorothy Sayers]
All this feels good, the last few days. As it should.
But revenge will not be confined to the protesters in the streets. The Left has been grievously wounded. They will turn on each other, but even more so will plot destruction to rain down upon us. They are making their plans now. As written in Surah Al-Anfal, 8:30 [man, never thought I’d be quoting that stuff, but it fits]:
“But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.”
Everyone here should know by now who I believe allah really is. We should be prepared for what is to come. They will not overcome, but it will be neither easy nor pleasant.
