Mideast Moslem planners have a different construct of time than the West does, we think in terms of right-right-now while they have a long game mentality. One of our Arab instructors explained it something to the effect of: “Abdull waited 100 years to extract revenge and cursed his impetuous action”.
These guys can eat that Western elephant one bite at a time and digest at leisure, they have all the time in the world. We’re trying to advance civilization, they’re just trying to coast back to the 7th century. It’s much easier to let entropy rule than move forward, especially when the society you hate feeds, clothes and generally takes care of you while you destroy it.

They don’t have that far to coast. As your instructor pointed out, they were beheading people and burning villages/towns almost up into the 1920’s.

Saudis still do head and limb chopping though limb chopping is rare while, by official count, their yearly head choppings rival those of ISIS in raw numbers. Used to do it on TV too, because of outrage from West don’t know if they still do but reliable reports are that they also still crucify the chopee’s body and put it on display with the disembodied head.

In the first three issues, they talk about this new thing called a “telephone”. In the third issue, they actually go look at one. It’s not a very positive review. Maybe they can use it for music or something.

I forget who and where it was now, but some country in Europe did exactly that. The “telephone” system went one-way into each home as a mounted speaker to play music and official announcements. I don’t recall if you could change channels to other music.

The magazine is classified as “political satire”, but it was pushback against the corrupt media of the day that was just as bad as CNN/FOX/NYT/MSNBC/etc. is today.

Here is a funny. Honorable Son was at work when the boss came up to him and said seriously, “I need to speak you with in the office.” Son, who is always sure he is in trouble or messed up, asked a couple of times, “What did I do. How bad is it?” Boss says, “It is not too bad, but please just come to the office.”

Co-workers all worried when Son comes out of office, inquiring if he got fired. He just shook his head and soberly went back to work.

Boss got him in the office, closed the door and said gleefully, “Let’s talk TRUMP. Make America Great Again!”

The guy just HAD to get his fill of Everything Trump and noticed, in the bastion of liberals The Son had a “Make America Great Again” sticker on his car.

    Cooooooool.

Good morning, crew! I’me about off to bed. I can’t wait for my shift to go back to normal.

Anyway, feeling better today. I had some good laughs. After watching the stupid Glenn Beck clip on the TreeHouse yesterday, I was thinking about back when his show was actually entertaining, as well as not a load of crap. I used to be quite a huge fan, and I checked to see if I still had them, and I do! Original parody commercials that Glenn Beck had on his radio show once upon a time, like back from the pre-Obama days, maybe around 2006-ish or so.

There was the UN School of Parenting, with step-by-step discipline steps, from A to FF. Or the Exploitico Flu Goo, to protect you from the bird flu (made from repurposed rubber cement). Or the Real American A-Holes (parody of the Budweiser Real American Genius ad series), particularly the Mr. Undecided Voter one (has a clip, “When it comes to opinions on Hitler or sex with super models, you grit your teeth and confidently say ‘I have no freakin’ idea!'”)

Oh, the days of yesteryear, when the sun was always shining, and the clouds were always fluffy, and the air smelled like warm root beer…

We have lost a lot in 10 years, more in 15.

Ah, see, there we go, now I’m back around to the downward slope, lol…

I may also be a little punch-drunk from lack of sleep.

Good night, good morrow, and I’ll see you fine folk later.

Happy Monday, and God bless us, everyone!

    From Facebook:

If the New York Times wanted to know about the tax loss Trump took in the 90’s they didn’t have to illegally obtain his taxes, all they had to do was read The Art of the Comeback where he talks about this time in his business life……. it was common knowledge at the time.

And in the Never Give Up book he is very candid about being $1 billion dollar in the hole in the 1990s and making the biggest comeback in history, which even put him in the Guinness Book of World Records.

So what people see in his 1995 tax return is exactly what he – himself – wrote about in 1997 in his book. The NYT’s could have saved itself a lot of time and just read his book – but then they might have learned something and can’t have that happen, can we?

Just been outside tilling around my citrus and stone fruits and setting mulch. We have a great citrus crop, should be maturing in a few months, warm summer sctually had two of the citrus trees setting a second set of blossoms.
Got me thinking…in my secular school we learned that nature rewards success, successful species flourish and prosper, unsuccessful ones die out or go into politics. If global warming is all that terrible a thing than why are there such positive side efeects such as more warmth for longer growing seasons, more carbon dioxide that will allow plants to grow faster and lsrger, more water, all that good stuff that will provide more food for sucessful humans? We have succeded in extending the human life lifespan well past what it was at the beginning of the twentieth century, we’ve even moved humans into outer space…might secular nature be following a plan to provide for further expansion through expanding our available resources?
The nattering nabobs of negativity have determined that the sole and ideal human environment is a 1950s-ish climate and the warming means we must sacrifice our culture and comfort to Gaia. Tne third world may still continue to exist using practices that pump those nasty gasses into Gaia’s lungs, after all they are just the victims of perfidious Western racial and economic polices; our gasses bad, their gasses good.
I just cut down my burned-out okra plants, all over seven feet tall…don’t seem bad to me.

Well well, looks like the tit-for-tat Clinton team’s scored a hit…New York has stopped the Trump Foundation from soliciting contributions in New York state due to alleged violations of NY regulations. The charges come out of NY State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office who, coincidentally, is a major Clinton supporter. The timing is more than suspicious and it brings to question if the office waited until the Clinton Foundation mess was shredded and burned before it went after Trump…timing is everything.

Just a little dose of suspicion here, but is it coincidental that we have a POtuS from Chicago, a city that is virtually owned by a Mexican cartel and, during his administration not only has heroin and fentanyl importation and use skyrocketed but the overwhelming majority of it is coming in from Mexico.
The US-Mexican border is so loose that while seizures of illegal drugs have increased markedly every year their availability has not been slowed. Meth, tar and white heroin, fentanyl are all readily available even in rural areas and not just in big cities. Yes the oxy sipplies are tightening up a bit but the opiate slingers are taking up the slack. From Afghanistan and Mexico into your neighbors’ arms.
Now we have Hellary in the blocks, already stained with drug dealing allegations, and Cuba is being welcomed back to the table. If you worked drug issues back during the Cold War you know Cuba’s involvement in supplying drugs to illegal US markets and there’s no indication they’ve gone clean…especially as they need cold, hard cash.
Oh lordie, what have we become?

Louisiana Rat governor, the one I,previously mentioned was flying to Cuba to kiss Castro’s ring, spearheaded overturning Louisiana’s law that kept the state out of the Federal Real ID law. Louisiana residents, presimably including illegal, immigrants, will get Federally-mandated internal passports…errrrr, driver’s licence or ID card…in keeping with the USSR-lite standards. He and Fidel can hi-5 the sovietization of the US while they talk about Cuba, one of the world’s larger illegal drug exporters, and Louisiana, one of the US’s larger illegal drug importers, affairs.
There were attempts during the Cold War era to have US citizens have a Federally mandated sort of identification, as the USSR residents had, but the efforts were shot down. Now with 911 and a generation of sybaritic exhibitionists it appears that aspect of privacy will be gone too.
