Good morning all. Straight talk from a man we can all learn from.

    http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/commentandblogs/2016/09/16/how-should-bishops-deal-with-kaine-and-biden-take-a-tip-from-cardinal-burke/

The article first deals with politicians such as Kaine and Biden receiving communion of course, but later we have this quote :

The same straightforward thinking, incidentally, appears in the cardinalโ€™s comments on Islam. Rather than echoing conventional Catholic wisdom, which keeps telling us how peaceful Islam is, he says that โ€œIslam is not just another religious practice that can coexist in harmony with other religionsโ€ฆ In reality there is no place for other religions, even though they may be tolerated, as long as Islam has not succeeded in establishing its sovereignty.โ€ He stresses that Christians need to know the radical differences between Islam and Christianity, concluding โ€œIf you really understand Islam, you understand that the Church really should be afraid of it.โ€

When I hear the “moderate Muslim” argument I am no longer silent.

Pelosi, Kaine and Biden are by their actions no longer Catholics because they defy the Dogma of the Catholic Church and actively work against it thus making them heretics though not formally excommunicated, if the Church took the the time to do so they could and should excommunicate them. In the same vein moderate Muslims are no longer Muslim as they defy the dictates Sharia Law and are considered apostates.

There may be no head of Islam, no absolute authority in the form of one man, but Muslims do have an absolute authority in the Koran and Sharia Law and to defy its dictates is to be an apostate and not a Muslim.

There are no non-barbaric Muslims as there are no pro-abortion Catholics.

To be a Catholic is to be pro-life, to be a Muslim is to be pro-Sharia.

      • I’m not a Catholic, but I never could grasp how Biden and San Fran Nan Pelosi could be considered good Catholics and were able to participate in Holy Communion with their views on abortion and other issues. They, along with Kaine, do not represent the views of devout Catholics that I know. I’m glad Cardinal Burke is taking a strong stand on this. We need more church leaders who are not afraid to stand up for truth. Oh, and he mentioned coexisting, it’s not possible. I see those bumper stickers that say that and it makes my blood boil. There is no coexisting with folks that want to lop of your head.

As is pointed out in the article, most Catholics who identify as pro abortion are of the breed who don’t even attend mass regularly. I have always wondered why in the world they continue to claim to be Catholic.

If they believe they must remain Catholic for their ultimate salvation, and yet are able to totally throw out the things that separate Catholics, where is their logic? Is it a family thing, as I believe it has come to be with the Kennedys?

I believe these people are so puffed up with pride that they DO believe they will bring about the change of 2,000 year old teachings which are the foundation of the Church. Not.ever.going.to.happen.

        • There are those type in every faith. It’s a slippery slope when changing biblical teachings. God has not changed and neither has the good book. It won’t end well for many.

I believe that they are socially catholic as it is their heritage and it has nothing whatsoever to do with salvation or Catholicism. It is simply what they identify with as it was likely a significant part of their childhood or it is important to a parent or grandparent in their life.

I completely support that line of thought and take it further to say it applies to many other things in peoples lives. Stating they are a republican or conservative would be another example. The actually agree with many socialist/left views, but say they are true blue conservative out of some habit. The reverse is true of many democrats as well.
Lots of every day examples of that conflicting reality.

How refreshing to have a bishop stand up for what the Church teaches. Thank you, Menagerie. Our social justice priest gave a horrid homily on Sunday, essentially telling us that support for abortion is not a reason not to vote for democrats. Moral equivalency and all that, we have to weigh the importance of housing and health care (!!!). Some people, including my RCIA sponsor, were ready to walk out.

Today, my eyes stopped on the pastry tray. Normally, I just go right on by. I used to have such a sweet tooth, but it only activates once in a while now. Cheese Danish looks good!! Nowadays I indulge with no guilt when I want something sweet….since I know six weeks might go by with no sugar cravings. My problem today is that there are no sugary goodies in the house. I’m not much of a fan of packaged cookies and such now, and my husband can’t eat cookies and desserts so our cupboard is bare. I grew up in a Southern culture which included daily desserts and between-meal sweets as a necessary food group. We had cake or pie after our dinner. Ice cream and cookies were “extras.” Pastries were for breakfast or morning coffee breaks. Fudge was for holidays, since my grandmother and her sisters made it themselves and it was very time-consuming. It’s amazing to me that my brain has now apparently turned off the part that craves such things, except for an occasional burst of desire. This was not something I tried to give up, since I don’t have any health condition that prohibits sugar in moderation, so the whole thing is a mystery to me. At least I CAN eat sweets when I get a craving.

And why is it that when someone wants cake, pie, cookies or pastries, a piece of chocolate does not suffice?? Just the desire for carbs?

Hellary will continue the Obama .bring ’em all in’ program as it’s part of the progresive internationalist agenda. Back to the two year old UN Refugee Agency wants the US to take 85,000 while Obama’s publically said he’ll up that number to 100k and Hellary’s called for twice that.
Y’all jes remember that when the jihadists in these refugees kill Americans the dead are, to the POtuS, Hellary and the UN, acceptable collateral damages in the engineering process. Once they are winnowed, jihadi seperated and all settled into welfare, medicare, food stamps and whatever else collateral-damagee finded programs they’ll be entiyled to everything will be muuuuuuccch more betterer.

“Sometimes I’m criticized in my own country for professing a belief in international norms and multilateral institutions. But I am convinced that in the long run, giving up some freedom of action — not giving up our ability to protect ourselves or pursue our core interests, but binding ourselves to international rules over the long term — enhances our security. And I think that’s not just true for us. “

A group of protestors have announced they’ll try to throw ropes around the iconic statue of Andrew Jackson in the French Quarter and pull it down. They’re upset that the city didn.t add it to the list of Confederate statues they want taken down. Though Jackson wasn’t a member of the Confederacy he did own skaves, was white and kived in the South. Those many, many white slaveowners in the North have apparently been granted full dispensation.

stella, am I wrong? I’m arguing next door that the idiot IT guy torpedoed his company and reputation by publicly asking how to manipulate a client’s E-Mail (and the client turned out to be Hillary), but it’s a mistake to definitively connect the action performed to a request.
We can assume a request was made. Since it’s a business, I doubt it would have been for free. So there may have been billable hours rolled into something else.
Or the guy took it upon himself thinking it would earn him points and get him a position as White House IT guy or a government contract where he could make extra money selling stuff to the Chinese.

Oh this is exactly Seattle right now. The foreign oligarchs are buying buildings and even new construction. It’s driving the prices way up.

It appears the music may have finally stopped for one of the worldโ€™s largest luxury real estate bubbles: London.

Itโ€™s well known that foreign oligarchs love London real estate as a means to launder funds, typically โ€œearnedโ€ by soaking their host countries dry via corruption and fraud. This has caused absurd and irrational spikes in high-end residential real estate in the English capital, as well as a flood of new construction.

With emerging markets now completely collapsing, the seemingly endless flood of foreign money is drying up, and with it, London real estate.

So has the London real estate bubble popped? Probably.
