It made me think of something like Hunger Games (which I haven’t actually seen). Too much military. Just kinda harsh.

I agree that it had a large component of militaristic overtones. I think it was skillfully put together to elicit a reaction. I am jaded by these things at this point in my life. But I can see how some would drink it in and like it.

I think you probably right about that. I was strictly giving my own personal perspective. I mean, even most of my old lady friends liked Hunger Games. LOL

Respect your opinion Mom. Hopefully Trump takes the social issues/experiments out of the Military. Get down to Warfighting, and modernization of the force. Now if you have to use force, their are only two restrictions on the military (nuclear/chemical wpns) then you defeat, yes defeat your adversaries in that you wipe their seed from the face of this earth. In other words Mom, Trump is saying a strong defense is needed. Then nobody, nobody would want that hammer on them.
Most if not all of our civilian modernization has been the result of the military research, TV’s Computers, cell phones, ect,.
It’s possible in rebuilding our infrastructure to provide jobs for 50 million Americans, modernization of ports, highways, airports, and the big one energy sector. Think thorium power instead of nuclear power, also refine one type of gasoline instead 4-7 different types, rebuild our refineries, natural gas production, and you will need to make this energy cheap.
How about reducing government overreach, corruption, incompetence, make government responsible and flexible.
Just a few thought Mom, and remember the Constitution defines the Pesidents three duties, they are; CEO of the Executive Branch, Chief Foreign Diplomat, and First and Formost to Defend the United States of America.

I can see that what I said was much too subtle. I am totally FOR the military and what their needs are and what they need to do. I don’t like war movies (except for John Wayne movies) and I don’t like movies like Hunger Games. And, I really hated the music. All simply personal preferences. I just think the ad might not be appreciated by all groups. Having said that, my son (that I raised almost single handedly) would probably love it. O_o

One side of me, the dominant impulse side, tells me that if we must fight wars, it should be to win. The political meddling and ridiculous rules of engagement make the fighting harder, more dangerous, far more costly in life and dollars, and often, unwinnable. If we fight to defend ourselves, I agree with you, it should be all out, get it done and go home.

However, there has to be some way to keep a strong military in check. I guess I haven’t read enough history to figure out how you do that without politicians hamstringing the warriors and using the military as a political tool.

I don’t know the answers to how to do both, but I know our country has pretty much made the military play an unwinnable game. At least since Vietnam, maybe even farther back, as I said, I lack the knowledge here.

Make sure that every military leader from the highest ranking General down to the First Lieutenants are red blooded, full blown Patriotic Americans and not simpering politicians in uniform! The troops will follow them to hell and back and cheer while they are doing it.

Menagerie, you said in one sentence what I said in a paragraph,” it should be all out, get it done, and go home”. That’s what I meant. The full power of the military has not been released since WW2. About 48 hours or so of Gulf War 1 was close, even the Russians sat up and took notice…..
When you start, you never let up, then you pound the bast$$ds some more….

You remind me of advice my son. a fierce competitor, gave me about a personal competition I was in a year or so ago. I was winning, but the 5 day contest was not over, just near the end. I had a substantial lead, but was wary. My son said “Don’t take your foot off of their throat.” 😀

it’s the wrong packaging. It’s targeting the wrong audience and won’t influence people that can actually think. It will turn them off.

I read what all of you said, and to me, you all said the same thing, in different words.

Recently I described to my 16 yo grandson what I did in the military this way –
Our military kills people and breaks things.
I was a white hat hacker. I listened for and found the bad guys. I then directed the drones and robots where to find the bad guys. Our military neutalizes the threat, by any means necessary, as quickly as possible. Then I showed him Hard Corps, and showed him what he did not see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sam4lq2WHos

The young people must accept what our military does, using the young people’s words and point of view. The military kills people and breaks things, by any means necessary, all out, no restrictions, no holds barred. Our military must be made.

I thought the video was great, for young people, with one exception. Infrastructure now includes fiber, not just roads, bridges, aiports, etc.. Fiber as in fiber networks, for communications. Fiber, so our morse intercept and HFDF operators – the white hat hackers – can find the bad guys. Great find, Stella. Thx.
