I wonder if the post is intended to “out” people in Seattle.

I usually don’t post my political views out of respect for friends with different views. Politics can be very divisive. Over the years I have respected leaders with various views regardless of their party, even when I did not agree with many of their views, because this what democracy is all about. However, the possibility of Donald Trump becoming the next US president is very troubling. This is not about progressive vs. conservative ideology, it is not about left, right or middle. After observing Donald Trump since the start of his presidential campaign, it has become very clear that Donald Trump is unfit to be president due to his temperament and erratic judgment. Hillary Clinton is far from being flawless, but given the choice between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Hillary is the only sane choice, as it would be highly risky to provide the nuclear codes of the United States to an erratic egoist with a thin skin and disastrous to have the next US president insult countries, religions, leaders, individuals and take us all for a turbulent ride where no one can predict what he would say or do the next day, the next crisis. I respect the different views of caring people, as long as they are communicated in a respectful, constructive way, and I wish Donald Trump all the best in his business and family life. This is not a call for a political debate on my timeline, just an expression of my concerns.

Today the nation’s first ‘Blue Lives Matter’ law goes into effect. It makes assaulting any 1st responder, police, EMT, fire, a hate crime and adds an increased penalty.
CNN’s posting that the Anti-Defamation League is opposed to it as they badically don’t trust judges to fairly apply it. Mind you, these are the same courts, as I’ve posted before, that routinely allow thugs to get away with dozens of violent felonies before they actually take any actions – and who’s worried?
What CNN’s not reporting is the Louisiana NAACP is against the law as (quote from Louisiana NAACP president): “I haven’t heard of any police officers being killed as a result of people just hating the individual just because the individual was a police officer and certainly not our firefighters.” Geez, Louise, who can argue with such steel trap logic?

Yeah, thebironynof his Moslem son being kilked by Moslem terrorists whom we’ve been fighting since they brought Moslem terrorism to the US nearly 15 years ago escapes him. Wonder why, immediately after him, the DNC didn’t bring on the NOK of any of the non-Moslem targets in San Bernardino or Orlando to talk about the ethnic cleansing the Religion of Peace is bringing to us? Particularly like his conveniently having a copy of the Constitution in his coat pocket, too bad he didn’t talk a bit about how US Moslem authorities tell us the Constitution is subordinate to the Koran for Moslems. Then again the Koran says it’s OK to deceive kafirs.

You and I are not the DNC’s target.

Beautiful and rational letter written by Chris Mark US Marine and Navy Veteran

An Open Letter to Khizr Khan

          Dear Mr. Khan,

I want to preface this letter by stating that I respect your son’s sacrifice for this great nation. By all accounts, he is a true hero that sacrificed himself in service to our country. For that I am thankful.

As a veteran, I watched your comments at the Democratic National Convention with a mixture of sadness, and anger. The United States has a military comprised of volunteers. Every single member has made the conscious choice to join the military and serve. There is not a single service member who has been forced into service. It is important for all service members (and apparently, their families) to understand that service to this great nation does not imbue one with special privileges or rights. I found your comments troubling when you said: “Have you ever been to Arlington cemetery? Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing and no one.”

Does it matter whether Mr. Trump has sacrificed “…nothing and no one?”…has Ms. Clinton “..sacrificed” for this nation? How about Mr. Obama? Your comment stating that Mr. Trump “…has sacrifice no one” is alarming. Are you intimating that YOU sacrificed? Sir, your son willingly sacrificed himself. As a father I cannot imagine the pain you must feel but his sacrifice is his own. He was not forced to serve.

I am troubled that you would allow a party that has little more than contempt for the US Service Member to parade you into the DNC to denounce Donald Trump. Did you watch when protesters at the DNC booed and heckled Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Florent Groberg? Did you notice your party interrupting the moment of silence for slain police officers? Your own hypocrisy in not denouncing these acts and instead using the DNC as a platform to make a political point is disgraceful. The simple fact is that whether one served or sacrificed does not give greater power to their statements. One vote is as valuable as another. That sir, is why our Country is great. Your condemnation of one person for a statement while standing idly as your party disparages veterans and police officers is the height of hypocrisy.

To conflate the need to prevent potential terrorists from entering our country with the belief that ‘all Muslims’ should be banned is simply wrong and disingenuous. As a reminder, Mr. Trump said: ” “Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” The irony of your son’s own death at the hands of these very people in Iraq should not be ignored. I have little doubt that your son would have recognized the need to protect our country from these very people. In fact, he held is own troops back so that he could check on a suspicious car. Your son understood sacrifice and how to protect “his people”…’his soldiers’….’his fellow Americans’…

As you continue to make the media circuit and bask in the glow of affection cast upon you by a party that has little regard for your son’s own sacrifice, and veterans in general, I would ask you to consider your comments and your position more closely.

          Respectfully,

          Chris Mark

          US Marine and Navy Veteran.

But you know logic and reason is exactly what socialism has had to overcome in it’s 230+ year campaign. That is why almost every attack they use is based upon emotion and feelings.

The very nice letter is going to accomplish very little but give our side something to point at and say, “See! In your face Abdul!”. The people that came up with Mr. Khan already knew the story had problems. They don’t need the controversy to last any longer than it will. They have the next shocking Trump non-story ready to go; fake or untrue.

I still maintain that people who think this way are doing it to shrug off their own responsibility as citizens. They want their vote to be all they have to do, let someone else (Trump) take every single bit of responsibility for fixing everything. They say they are not liberals, but they might as well be, they act like one.

Matter of fact, I sometimes think the crazy liberals actually work harder for what they believe in than conservatives do. Liberals are in the streets protesting, maybe even throwing rocks or burning things down, which I absolutely loathe. Is the reason you don’t see many conservatives in action because they are too damned lazy?

Yes, I know, being a volunteer at a voting station, making calls for candidates, calling or writing our politicians, serving on juries, working in hospitals, taking old people to church, taking a child to the library, taking meals to the homebound, these don’t play well in the news so they are not covered, and society is actually built on these constructive and generous actions, not torn down like the BLM matters people are doing.

But I would venture to bet that the people who do those wonderful acts are not on the internet trying to crown the Donald emperor. It’s the people who pontificate the most, that’s my opinion.

“…I sometimes think the crazy liberals actually work harder….”

Nope. You’re right. They do work harder. However, it’s unintentional on their part. They spend way more energy trying to get what isn’t theirs than it would take to earn it to begin with.
Socialism, while still about getting as much power/wealth as possible no matter what method, the environment has changed. We no longer have the royal succession through birth. Rank and station in society can and does change within a generation via work and effort.
So the boogie man has changed from the King and nobles, to personal property and capitalism.

“Is the reason you don’t see many conservatives in action because they are too damned lazy?”

“Conservatives” (I really dislike the label) are hardworking people. They are taking care of the immediate issues in their day to day life. Their family, home, themselves. If any discernible positive result could be envisioned, everyone would drop what they are doing to come to action. Rich or poor, it doesn’t matter.

Show how to realistically put this cycle to an end and everyone would be on board for however long it took. The problem is that you can’t. We will always have poor people and we will always have greed and envy. Christianity in the past has been great at self-reliance and self control. Now that it’s been coopted from within for many churches — and it has been for a very long time — people are no longer learning Christian morals and values. The big thing that allowed people to measure and reject socialism has been reduced to the people in flyover country.

I got distracted with work stuff. I was saying something about baby goat cheeses, yes?

I disagree with you on this one. Maybe some people would sign on if they saw a way to fix things but I think we are in this situation not nearly as much because of the socialists like you do.

As you said, and Jesus before you, the poor will always be with us. So will socialists. The problem is too few people are willing to fight against it. I believe there are way more of us than them but not so many are willing to own the conditions of our world.

The real problem man has always faced is complacency.

Anyhow, it seems to me that truly poor people are rarely the leaders of revolutions. Tjey are busy trying to eat.

I recently read a quote from Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea, who, pray Jesus, might be in the running as pope next time except he’s pretty old. Anyhow, he differentiated between destitution and poverty and said that it was against the teachings of Jesus to equate the two, quoting Jesus about the poor always being with us. Perhaps he is right. Our modern usage of the word poverty may not be at all what Jesus was talking about.

I wonder where this comment will wind up? If I disappear from these blogs please send me care packages at the FEMA camps. I think the black suit guys are after me. They are erasing my posts, who knows when they come for me?

During World War Two the US was at war with two alien philosophies bent on destroying democracy here. We were ar war with Germany and Japan for less than 4 years time and, during that period, not only severely limited the activities of Nazi Party and Japanese Imperialist subscribers here but didn’t hesitate to call out our enemies by name.
Now we’ve been at war with Islam, a war THEY declared and started by attacking us. The Japanese killed 2335 Ameticans at Pearl while Islam killed 2996 in their 911 attack, yet this isn’t war, it’s a cultural misunderstanding where we are not allowed to connectbthe crime to the perpetrators.
We didn’t see the US government allowing hundreds of thousands of Nazis or Japanese Imperialists immigrate here during the war saying that there were good Nazis and that Nazis or Imperialists should be allowed to kill a few undesirables here before a determination of their suitability would be made. Wonder what would have happened had FDR pushed for massive inclusion of Nazis or Imperialists into the 40s Rat party?

Czar: will be checking to make sure missing Mike isn’t trapped under the rasher of custom smoked and cured bacon awaiting eating. Porchetta is on the horizon as soon as it cools a wee bit.

Heh heh heh. I’m starting to feel bad now. There are a couple of guests next door really trying to help me.
