  2. I’ve pretty much had it with Shephard Smith, Chris Wallace, Bret Baier, and Megyn Kelly. So many unwatchable and unlistenable “news” people on Fox.

Not watching FOX has been good for me. Although long before I quit watching FOX, I had quit watching Smith.

      • It’s better for my blood pressure not to watch certain folks on there, but I still keep up with Hannity, Judge Jeanine, and I love Lou Dobbs on FBN.

My brother was asking me the other day if I ever miss satellite and I told him no it was nice to not have to pay for the 2 or 3 channels I watched out of the 100 or so channels I had.
He said that was where he was getting and the temptation to watch cable news was great and always ends up ticking him off.

          • There are so many good ways to get info or entertainment now with streaming so it’s not a necessity anymore. Saves $ too!!! Probably brain cells as well! 🙂

It saves a lot of money. For years we had DirecTV and for about the last 4 years we had they would raise rates and we’d drop to a smaller package and before long with all the added fees they’d have our bill back up close to that $100/month mark.
I was ready to get rid of it long before my husband and finally even he got sick of paying that much when he only watched a few channels.
I believe in the near future cable and satellite will be a thing of the past unless they start allowing folks to pick their own channels and pay for what they want to watch.

              • I’ve been trying to get my hubby to let go of TV, but God love him, he’s just not ready to do it. Oh well!

It’s already starting. I subscribe to Sling tv (owned by Dish Network), with a basic of $19.99 a month for a package of cable channels, then you can select additional packages for $5.00 each per month, or HBO for $15.00 per month. Amazon offers single channels (Starz, Acorn, HBO Showtime, History Vault) as stand alone channels added to Prime, with a monthly subscription fee.

My kids get Sling tv, but I didn’t know they were owned by Dish.
Out here I’m seeing fewer and fewer dishes on roofs and more antennas. I think once we get fiber internet, Directv will have to do something similar to slingtv in order to have a market at all in this area.

I still get my internet from the cable company, as well as phone, so they still gouge me on those items! I have an antenna (inside), and I am close to the transmitters, so I get a good local tv signal. The rest is streaming via the internet. I just checked Sling, and they have enlarged their choices, but it is still a menu of choices (two main menus, plus smaller add-on packages), and you can change or cancel you subscription at any time, on line.

We get really gouged on internet for slower speeds than we will be able to get with fiber optic. If we wanted we could almost get phone, internet and tv for close to the same price as we pay for internet now.
It’s getting closer, we at least had the engineers out recently and they said the guys putting it in usually start work about two weeks after they do their part.

There were county plans here for fiber then, when the economy dipped, it was abandoned. I think Google is installing fiber all over the place, but not here yet, as far as I know. Of course, we already have two cable networks here, so there isn’t a strong demand for it.

I’m not sure how this came about except the company and our rural coop partnered together.

Google has a huge facility in our county but other than providing an internet service in town, I’m not sure what they do there. I have been told by people who have done contract work there that they strictly control where they can go and have their phones shut off and must sign an agreement that they will not say anything about what they see inside.

Shepard reminds me of Forrest Gump every time I hear him speak.

His ninny fit over “All lives matter” make it excruciatingly clear that Shepard is not only not too bright but he is led by his emotions, he couldn’t even articulate why “All lives matter ” was offensive, he simply is emotionally married to the idea that it hurts SJW’s feelings and those feelings trump reality.

Shepard himself admitted that “All Lives Matter” shouldn’t be offensive but it is to some people. Listen to how high pitched his voice grows when Jindal repeats “All Lives matter.”

“Why Bobby why!” cried Shemp 🙄

Shorter post; Shepard is a clueless moron.

Yeah, saw that as it happened. At first I was PO’d eventually I just came to the conclusion that after yacking on for hours on a major issue he just started saying stuff to just say stuff. Didn’t like the toad anyway.
