BREAKING NEWS: At least 50 feared dead in Nice France

Bastille Day horror.

TerrorInNiceDaily Mail

  • Dozens of people have been killed and 150 have been injured in a Bastille Day attack in Nice, southern France
  • Eyewitnesses reported a gunfight between police responding to the attack and suspects at the scene
  • Soldiers have been deployed to the streets in an effort to restore calm to the city

A lorry ran down a large group of people in the southern French city of Nice during a suspected terrorist attack. At least 50 people are feared dead with more than 100 injured during the Bastille Day attack.

Gunshots rang out in the streets, with gunmen targeting hotels and cafes in the port city as residents were warned to lock themselves in doors for their safety. Hostages have been taken in a hotel in the city. The RAID anti-terror squad has been deployed to the city.

It is believed the gunmen are holding hostages in the Meridien Hotel and the Buffalo Grill restaurant.

A lorry rammed into a large group of people who were celebrating Bastille Day before gunmen started firing.

A spokesman for the Alpes Maritime prefecture advised locals to ‘stay indoors’ as gunfire was heard, and a lorry was driven into a crowd on the Promenade des Anglais.

Eyewitnesses said there were ‘bodies everywhere’ with at least 100 people injured.

They need our prayers.  Such a horrible, horrible, thing.

What I am hearing on CNN is that all was caused by a lone actor in the truck. However, a woman who lives in an apartment overlooking the scene says that citizens are being advised to stay in their homes. She wonders that they aren’t 100% sure that there aren’t others.

Of course there are others. Maybe not today, maybe not tonight. But these kinds of attacks work. They are impossible to defend against, unless you simply eliminate all who attempt such attacks, before the attacks occur.

Read The Three Conjectures. The end result is inevitable.

Fox has the dead at 73 also. If we as Americans allow this to come to our doors we are complicit in our own deaths. Any politician who continues to make excuses for the savages of Islam should be considered domestic enemies of the United States.

Trump just announced that out of recognition of the tragedy he is putting off the announcement of his VP.

CNN’s been refusing to show all of the videos as they are ‘too graphic’ and showed a still scene of the bodies only in black-and-white for same reason.
As driver’s now toast unless he left a suicide video or letter they’re all going to try and say this isn’t Islamic as the driver didn’t declare. If some group like ISIS comes out and claims credit that won’t even help, the apologists like Obama will bend over backwards to say the he was really a redneck on his way to set up a table at an NRA gun show.

This is what ticks me off, this happens because countries’ leaders bring them in knowing what eventually will happen.
Our country is no different and we’ve been allowing them to come in for years. Remember in the 80’s when the Iranians suddenly almost overnight owned motels followed with signs saying, “American owned,” when folks traveling were tired of staying in their motels.
What really ticks me off is after 9/11 we should have learned our lesson but here we are with thousands if not millions more of them than we had here that day.

Interviewees on CNN say that, because of the weapons, grenades, etc. found in the truck, and the way in which the attack was conducted, it may have been a lone man, but that there was a network behind him.

I had no doubts from first reports when they started reporting 30 dead that it was a terror attack. Bastille Day is an important Fench holiday, significant and symbolic, and these clowns love to make a ‘significant’ terror statement. For yeras after 911 Federal LEA and intel would send out warnings before ‘significant’ US and Islamic holidays. That sort of ended once the calendar grew to include almost 365 days.
I was telling the Czarina judt a few days ago that you don’t need guns or bombs as you could just drive a truck into a crowd at hi-speed. That was no great leap, every so often we have a drunk drive into a crowd during one of our major alcohol-related festivals, also approaching 365. Will Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer demand a three-day waiting period for truck sales/rentals? Perhaps we need to work harder to reduce the tensions between the Moslem ummah and the rest of the sentient (not thst I include them) world. How about we just start having mandatory ‘Respect for Islam’ classes for the kafir masses?
Sigh…another possible attack by some psychotic who’s hijacked the name of the Religion of Peace.

There simply is no way to protect yourself from every imaginable kind of terrorist attack. The most effective thing, IMO, is to do everything possible to to KEEP THEM OUT of this country.

And our current pols are doing everything they can to BRING THEM IN.

What part of the above is hard for libs to understand?

Interesting, seems the crash into the crowd may be an accident. Now reports are that driver was stopped, started shooting in what msy be a panic response to thevstop and veered into the crowd in a botched getaway. CNN ‘expert’ is now suggesting the entire thing could be by some non-Moslem guy/group trying to make AQ/ISIS look bad (?).

Back to that ‘NRA gin show’ excuse. I am betting we’ll see a push to ratify that UN anti-gun treaty to prevent giuns, explosives and other munitions from being sold on the black market. In reality it prevents civilians and some lower level governmental bodies from having firearms as it doesn’t prevent national governments from transferring arms under the table. That AK bring carried by the African guerilla, like many of those being carried by ISIS, may well have come from a US government shipment that was captured or diverted. Or from Eric Holder…but that’s another story.

Best guess is there was some exchange of gun fire while the truck was breaking through the barricades. The savage not only drove a mile through a crowded street of innocent people he was also shooting out of the cab while he was driving according to many accounts.

That’s what it looks like atbpresent. Some schnook is hired to drive a truck full of jihadi toys between point ‘A’ and point ‘B’. He picks the wrong route, gets stopped at a checkpoint, panics and starts shooting. He doesn’t seem to be accelerating heavily as he drives down the street, looks more like he was just trying to find a way out. If he were out to create mass casualties I think he’d have veered left or right into the panicked crowds in open areas on his left and right.

It looks to me like there were natural barricades to him driving into more compressed gatherings of people. The one eyewitness I heard (I know notoriously unreliable) said that he maneuvered the truck as much as possible at the largest crowds of people and accelerated when he hit them.

If he was a delivery driver I don’t think he would have easy access to his gun it would have been in the trailer or well hidden and not easy to get to in case he was stopped and questioned.

I suspect the grenades and guns were found in the cab as the find was immediately reported if they were in the trailer it would have taken some time to decide it was safe toped it up as it could be booby trapped. I do not even know if they opened the trailer yet.

In passing, Hannity mentions that Hillary wants a 560% increase in immigrants into the US. Now there’s a number and concept that needs to be hammered home until November 9th. If by then Hillary’s elected we know that the majority of voters (note I didn’ t say ‘Americans) want to see the country destroyed, if Trump gets elected that a majority of Americans aren’t ready to slit the country’s throat. Regardless of who gets elected I see dark clouds on the horizon.

Safety glass doesn’t shatter pe se, it’s two layers of glass with a plastic sheet sandwiched between them. Bullets puncture but the glass doesn’t shatter like, say, window glass. Think that rock that hits your car’s windshield as compared to that same rock hitting your picture window at the same speed.

Interestingbthing popped up on Fox, commentator said that US NSA and France will be getting together to track the communications of the Nice murderer over the last few weeks. That seems to imply the Carnivore-follow on mass surveillance system is doing what a number of European nations have complained about for decades: the US mass vacuuming up of communications worldwide. It would also help explain the monstrously huge storage capavity of the Utah center.

Fox had yet another expert on, saying that the reasons France has been targeted so frequently not only include France’s colonial past in North Africa ( obvious) but the number of French (not otherwise identified) returning from Iraq. Might I add that France has taken an active role in keeping its old colonies stable, sending in the Legionnaires if needed and its regular military when needed – remember France going toe-to-toe with Gadaffi in Chad?
There’s aleo the ignored issue of France’s support of Israel. France has always supported Israel, even in the face of condemnstion if Israel. Back during the Cold War Israel bought advanced patrol boats from France. Seven were delivered but the French government ‘ officially’ stopped the delivery of the remaining five. The Israelis somehow managed to board, fire up and sail the remaing boats out of the Cherbourg shipyard, out into the Atlantic, down the coast, thru the Straits of Gibraltar, thru the Med and back to Isreal without the French (or any other NATO) navy intercepting them. Strangely these embargoed ships were full of fuel and supplies.
France is also heavily responsible for the ‘creation’ of Lebanon, ripping it from the body of Syria, and those folk have long memories.
This France As A Target issue has deep roots.

Watching the POtuS’s latest ‘it ain’t about Islam’ speech? He’s also taking the chance to remind us of how greatbhevis and how much he’s done to progress prog porroms…errrrr, programs. This was supposed to be about the Nice attack but he’s turning it into an Obama initiative. I note the cameras are off of the French ambassador’s face…gee, wonder why. I also note the very light and scattered applause from the attendees, even now I’m unsue as to if the applause were for the content of his speech or the fact it was over.
