I’m starting my reply at 11:59 a.m. here, so technically it’s still good morning. I saw you got the first post at 12:03 a.m. my time. I started thinking what time you would have made the post. That got me wondering about your time zone, so I went and looked. You have your own time zone!? So are you now in ADST? Is that what it’s called?

Yes, Alaska has it’s own time zone, and we are 4 hours earlier than the East Coast. When I posted (first!) it was 8:03 pm Sunday night. In winter we are AST and in the summer we are ADT. We don’t need daylight saving time at all, as we have 20+ hours of sunlight per day in summer, but without it we would be 5 hours earlier than the East Coast.

Interestingly, prior to 1983, Alaska had 4 time zones, as the state spans about 1200 miles from east to west. So Nome was 3 hours earlier than Juneau, the state capitol. In 1983 most of the state was placed in a single time zone, with just the far western Aleutian Islands included in Hawaii’s time zone, an hour earlier than Alaska time.

(I got permission to TRY and post this. Hope it doesn’t overwhelm the GenDiscThread!)

Thought you might like and relate to this one:

The typical U.S. household headed by a person age 65 or older has a net worth 47 times greater than a household headed by someone under 35, according to an analysis of census data released Monday.

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby Boomers” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and have grown old together.

Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science, which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don’t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and outdated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Vietnam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn’t fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag.

We know the words to the “Star Spangled Banner” “America,” and “America the Beautiful” by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America .

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the “Hope and Change” which in reality was nothing but “Hype and Lies.” You youngsters have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don’t like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or “Climbing the Social Ladder” to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the “Great Lie” in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the ‘Kool-Aid.’ Now you’re paying the price and complaining about it; no jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.

This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty, and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don’t worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2016 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like, but we get where we’re going, and in 2016 we’re going to the polls by the millions.

This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch. It belongs to “We the People,” and “We the People” plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the “Gray-Haired Brigade.”

If I fought a cop, threatened a cop, made any aggressive moves toward a cop who might think I had a weapon or was in any way a threat to him and I wound up dead, I believe I would consider that suicide.

For my sake and the cop’s, I believe there would be better choices I could make. But what do I know? My only encounters with law enforcement have been over tickets. Well, except that time a crazy neighbor called the police on us. I am no expert on police encounters like the BLM people.

If I did lose my mind and wind up dead under those circumstances, I am absolutely certain that every single member of my family would think I had gone crazy and wound up getting exactly what I deserved. Not to say they wouldn’t care, but no one would try to justify it.

And, of course, political correctness rules. Nobody (so far) in a position of authority has said anything in his support. One thing they keep bringing up is that his brother was the cop who accidentally shot and killed a little girl in a home raid a couple of years ago. True, but what does that have to do with him?

        • lovely's avatar lovely says:

Right his brother has nothing to do with his post but what about common sense ever infiltrates the left’s agenda?

Hopefully David Clarke will come out and defend him. Clarke calls BLM a terrorist organization.

I had lunch today with my most liberal of friends. It was very interesting. I believe the scales are beginning to fall. She will never be a “conservative” but she did acknowledge that Obama has unjustly maligned the police officers of our nation. She was surprised that police kill more white perpetrators than black perpetrators, and surprised about Alton Sterlings police record and surprisingly enough on the side of the Officer in the Castille case.

This is the first time she has ever been open to even talking to me about anything BLM related because she knows my opinion. She didn’t know that there is a picture of Michah Johnson in a BLM t shirt.

All in all it was a productive conversation. Now when she goes home and discusses our conversation with her husband he will likely give her bad counter points but the door is open to her mind, I saw it with my own eyes.

That’s how they further their movement and make it ‘acceptable’, they mass threaten and propagandize making the pols believe they are in the vocal majority. Bolsheviks, Nazis, and many other groups whose doctrines was thinly disguised progressive hate successfully used the same tactics. I know a few black LEA who are more than a little nervous about the BLM movement as they see themselves as the first ‘up against the wall’.

The race war is made up, it’s a socialist thing. Known and documented extensively. But to most of the people brought up believing it, it does no good at all to tell/show/demonstrate the truth. Authors from 100 to 200 years ago on the subject seem to agree on two points. Restore Christian morals and abandon the brainwashed.

I’ve written this before, but it seems like the revolutions cycle up around the globe every 40-60 years starting in the 1780’s. Before that, something similar in tactics of some second son type nobility getting the peasants to raise up against unfair labor practices but very localized in Europe started about the 1400’s. People have been using others for a very long time.
Whatever that movement was tried tying itself to the various reformations but seemed to get denounced by the leaders of each new Church.

That is the biggest mystery to me. How do the PTB think this is going to end well for them? Is their intellect as darkened as their souls? These people are not stupid, they are educated, granted they view history through their altered prism but still there are concrete red flags to there behavior, all I can believe is that they think they are going to be the exception.

I think these SJW’s and their useful tools are, once again, making their moves, geared toward various motives. We sit here and watch a relatively small group of people, aided by their anonymous donors and politicians and media, getting out there and disrupting any peace and stability the rest of us are trying to hold on to. Every time this heats up (and I’ve been watching since the 70’s), it causes frustration, anger, and fear. Every time it gets big enough, people begin to say “This is it. It’s going to bring war in the streets and finish tearing our country apart.” One day, maybe, it finally will. I don’t believe it does any good at all to try to present truth to groups of people like this. A few of them, maybe, some of the useful tools, may learn some truth from experiencing consequences. Some of the university white kids may snap out of it. If they only knew how the majority of those black people hate them and hold their noses, while using the white kids.

As Czar says, the “manipulators” behind all of this are trying to control the movement. By connecting the dots, we can reasonably identify many of them and see that different groups are making coalitions for different “projects.” Will the tail end up wagging the dog? The problem is that, if the tools go off script and start running too wild and crazy, it won’t the be high-level manipulators who experience the consequences. It will be us. And if we coalesce to fight back, we may be the ones targeted by manipulators in the government and legal system, possibly even the military and police. At this point in time, I don’t think truth has anything to do with it.

Please pray and support Officer Jay Stalien. He has made an incredibly honest, well backed and moving post on FB and is sure to catch hell from the spawn of BLM.

Well said Officer Jay, well said, God speed.

I woke up every morning, put my freshly pressed uniform on, shined my badge, functioned checked my weapon, kissed my wife and kid, and waited for my wife to say the same thing she always does before I leave, “Make sure you come back home to us”. I always replied, “I will”, but the truth was I was never sure if I would. I almost lost my life on this job, and every call, every stop, every moment that I had this uniform on, was another possibility for me to almost lose my life again. I was a target in the very community I swore to protect, the very community I wanted to help. As a matter of fact, they hated my very presence.

They called me “Uncle Tom”, and “wanna be white boy”, and I couldn’t understand why. My own fellow black men and women attacking me, wishing for my death, wishing for the death of my family. I was so confused, so torn, I couldn’t understand why my own black people would turn against me, when every time they called …I was there. Every time someone died….I was there. Every time they were going through one of the worst moments in their lives…I was there. So why was I the enemy? I dove deep into that question…Why was I the enemy? Then my realization became clearer.

Dallas Police Sniper, Dropped from FBI’s Radar, Converted to Islam by Orlando Killer’s Radical Teachers

    http://truepundit.com/dallas-police-sniper-dropped-from-fbis-radar-converted-to-islam-by-orlando-killers-radical-teachers/

Here is what we now know about Micah X Johnson, the 25-year-old veteran who killed five Dallas police officers and injured more in a sniper attack Thursday. The following intelligence was gathered from True Pundit’s federal law enforcement sources exclusively. You will not find these gems anywhere else, until later, when other news outlets swipe them from True Pundit, usually without any credit.

We are going bullet format today. Just the raw intelligence, no fluff:

*Johnson was a devout Muslim. FBI have directed Dallas Police and law enforcement from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety who are investigating the murders to NOT divulge this fact to the media. Leak and face obstruction charges, sources said.

I hate to say I told you so……no, I really don’t….. I told ya so. NBC reporting tonite on its ‘news’ that the Dallas PD’s having to defend its using a robot-delivered bomb to kill the shooter. No word as to whom they are defending but I’m betting various BGI, liberal antolice and various basement dwellers are numbered in the whiners. At least four LEA from various agencies owe me beers.

Haven’t verified the truth of this, but it’s worthwhile to know if your city is on the list. The list is long.
