So, the above photo is of the neighbors backed up septic system. All we can see is the top of the fence separating us from the empty Jack Daniel’s bottles tossed against the mighty tree.
I will be glad when this election season is over and the guests go back to RedState or wherever so the waters can recede and I can find that quarter I dropped.

Thanks for posting that! Don’t need a reason to listen to good music. I love the fiddle, especially. Lots of that in my Celtic roots. My grandpa and great grandpa (mom’s side) played fiddle, my great uncle Nathan served as a “musician” (according to his service record) in the Michigan Infantry in 1864-1865, and my uncle Allen was a bugler in the Army infantry in 1918-1919. Many in the family have fine singing voices, even if we don’t play other instruments!

Shouldn’t be hard to explain. Brass can say something yo the effect that this situation’s SWAT’s respobsibility, they have the extensive training and equipment and in a case of an active shooter in crowded venue it’s best to minimize potential casualties by having trained vice street cops handle the matter. The street cops job was to secure the perimeter, prevent casualties from outside the club, contain the shooter and prepare the outside area forvthevarrival, ofvthe ‘experts’.
They could slso go on about how SWAT was delayed by this or that while they tried to assess the situation and plan their assault. there was probably a political aspect as the CYA oplan was put into place, in all ‘explaining’ this will be no big thing. Look for the deflection to ‘casualties would have been worse had we not waited’ canard as well as other boilerplare political shields.
Anyone else fond it curious the officer referred to his service rifle as an ‘assault rifle’? I know no police officer/ deputy whonreferrs to rifle as an assault rifle. Long gun, issue rifle, duty rifle but not assailt rifle. No LEA will say it issues its officers assault rifles.

We all do have liberal officers running around who fight just as hard, and think their opinion holds more water than the regular Joe, against the 2nd amendment. I witnessed more cops than regular Joes backing the so-called assault weapons ban under Clinton and saw more cops than regular Joes fighting against our state’s open carry law. I even personally know some of them who swear they have military assault rifles issued to them when they have been issued AR-15s.

Forcsure, but my explanation’s with the professional uper-rank bureaucrats. Case in point is the Louisiana governor releasing a BGI-friendly slap at the police involved in the recent Baton Rouge shooting. So far I have not heard one police chief/sheriff nail him for slapping the police before the official autopsy was released, never mind the investigation into the officers conduct.

Yeah, I guess you know the quick test can give you a false negative, so they send out a culture. They are more accurate. I still feel like I have a knife blade on the left side of my throat. And, it has been a week.

Yeah. I just hoped I’d get an answer today but now it will be Saturday before I know, which of course means they wouldn’t give me any meds. I feel your pain… literally. 🙂

Let me give you some advice. Gargle with salt water several times a day. (I didn’t because I am stupid and I hate gargling with salt water) I would probably be much better if I had done it more than once. I am going to start right now. Also, because it is probably the drainage from your sinuses causing the sore throat, rinse your sinuses with salt water. Do you know what a netti pot is? A squeeze bottle will do, too, I think. Be sure to put salt in the water because that not only helps, but stops the pain you will have with plain water. And, DO NOT use tap water unless you boil it for a while first. I offer these suggestions because I know I would be better than I am if I had listened and done them. 😦

There are instructions at this site: (note: boil tap water for 3 to 5 min. and cool before using)

Thanks. The nurse suggested the gargle as well. I don’t have a neti pot but I do have saline spray. Stinks to have to wait until Saturday to get meds. Oh well. My son-in-law had the sore throat and he went in to have his checked, we are all trying to keep the grandbaby from getting it, he was told it was an ear infection and not a throat infection. Very odd! I think we are all passing it back and forth, but miraculously the baby has been fine so far, knock on wood!!!
Pls rest and gargle and get to feeling better! I use elderberry, zinc, and vitamin C to ward off sinus/cold stuff, but it’s just kind of kept it at bay a bit. Pretty sure that culture is going to come back with a different strain of strep than what they checked for.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Okay, back away from the negatives. LOL I looked it up, but I nothing said that the culture is done for different types. It seemed that whatever type you have will be the one to grow. You don’t need to be worrying on top of feeling bad. 😐

🙂 Thanks! Will try! Just ready for relief as its sore throat day 6. I hadn’t had a headache and swollen glands until today so I was kind of ignoring it. Hope we both feel better quick! 😉

I can’t believe our symptoms are so similar. Mine started last Thurs. night. I’m still running a little bit of a fever and my sore throat is just as sore. I did make a discovery today, cold drinks make me cough. I know, pretty dumb to not realize it, huh? I’ve had the slight headache and swollen glands all along.
LikeLiked by 2 people
It is weird. Bummer about the cold drinks! Maybe some Breathe tea would work for you. I get it at the health food store. Hubs went through similar issues and had 2 antibiotics and 2 rounds of prednisone along with codeine cough meds to get over it. His had become severe bronchitis. Not fun!

Tundra was telling me that sometimes this can turn into something that is like asthma and that needs to be treated. I wonder if that is what happened to him along with the bronchitis? Anyway, let’s pray it doesn’t do that to you.

Sandandsea wondered if they had to test for different strains of strep. I figured they just do a test and see what grows. She was concerned that they test for the right strep.
LikeLiked by 1 person
You are right, USmom. The lab plates the swab, see what grows, and then identify what grew. They then identify the sensitivity of the bacteria that grew by placing dots of different antibiotics on the colony of bacteria and see which one kills off the bacteria. That’s why the long culture is the most accurate.

I’m so smart. {snort}
That is really interesting. I didn’t realize that was actually what they did.
When my son was 9, he was exposed to strep. When he developed a sore throat I immediately took him in to the doctor. We saw a PA and she did a culture and gave me a prescription for penicillin and said he should start taking it. I asked her what if it came back negative and she told me to have him stop taking it. I questioned her about taking it for a while and then quitting because I knew that wasn’t good. Oh, and he was homeschooled so that wasn’t a factor. Anyway, she was so insistent, I actually got the prescription but didn’t give it to him. I did that because there were rumors about children being taken away because the parent didn’t do what the doctor wanted and called it negligence. The culture came back negative. He got over it.
LikeLike
The episode with your son must have been a bunch of years back. These days, the RST (Rapid Strep Test) is so accurate that the false positive rate (test saying it is Strep when it really isn’t) is quite negligible. Most institutions do not do a long culture if the RST is positive, they just treat.
LikeLike
Yes, that was almost 20 years ago. But, that was the thing, his RST was negative, but she said there were false negatives so she sent it out. She was just so insistent it made me nervous. At another time, she also was insistent that my son have a vaccination, I think it was for chicken pox, but I wouldn’t let him take it until they did a test to see if he had the antibodies, which he did. Every child in my daycare had had chicken pox, except my son. Well, evidently his symptoms were so mild I didn’t know he had had it.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Sometimes, if you have a mild case, you can get chicken pox again. I know somebody who did, as an adult.
LikeLike
It has long been standard of care to do a long culture on negative RSTs, because the downside of missing a case of Strep is big; a 20% complication rate of untreated Strep where the complication is a major illness is unacceptable. It is also common to give a prescription at the time of the negative RST so that the patient doesn’t have to come back for a second visit just to get treatment. But the direction SHOULD be: don’t fill the prescription until I call you and tell you that the long culture was positive. Unfortunately, an appalling number of providers (MDs, PAs, NPs) do not understand the rationale for treating Strep and buy into the myth that it is the antibiotics that make you feel better. So they tell patients to start the antibiotics so that if it is Strep you’ll start feeling better quickly, and if it is not Strep you can just quit taking them on the 2nd or 3rd day. You did the right thing with your son to wait for the long culture result.
It is not uncommon for chicken pox to be mild enough not to recognize for what it is, but strong enough to confer antibodies. Those are the lucky kids!
LikeLike
The funny thing was that he had hand, foot, and mouth disease when the others had chickenpox. I called the Dr and he wouldn’t let me bring him in until all his other patients were gone. I said it definitely was not chicken pox. That was really weird. He had gone somewhere with his dad for a couple of hours and was perfectly all right. When he came home he had blister on his hands and when he complained about his feet, I watched the blisters actually swell up on his feet. Very strange.

I imagine that you have a bit of a problem convincing people that antibiotics won’t work when the cause is a virus.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Actually, people have been hammered with the message that “antibiotics don’t work on viruses” for so long that it is pretty much accepted. My problem is “but how do you KNOW it’s a virus? Couldn’t I take some antibiotics just in case it isn’t?” In my patient population (Yup’ik Eskimos) and many others, antibiotics are perceived as a magic bullet that makes everything better. Esoteric problems, like overuse of antibiotics causing antibiotic resistance, are just to abstract to consider.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I am an absolute believer that antibiotics have been highly overused. But, I can understand people wanting to get better in a snap. When I was little, they gave me shots of penicillin for tonsillitis. I can remember at least once when my throat hurt so I couldn’t swallow and my fever was high and within hours my throat went down and my fever went down. It seemed like a miracle.

Sho nuff, there it was, the last line in the oath of enlistment every member of every branch of the military takes is still “So help me God”. One wonders how the anti-religion crusaders could have missed that, or maybe Hillary will change it to ‘So help me Gaia’ or ‘So help me Goddess Hillary’. The latter’s a bit clumsy but probably more acceptable to Her.

Comey is rattled. It may be worth sticking around.
Comey “There is evidence of mishandling there is not evidence of intent.”

So Comey did not himself interview Hillary on Saturday, and she was not under oath.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Yep. And Comey was very evasive about the attorneys who did interviewed her and how Comey took their findings to heart and made the decision within hours to not recommend a prosecution.

Are you serious they didn’t ask her questions under oath?

Which it doesn’t really matter she was under oath when testifying to the House and she lied and nothing is being done about it.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Yep. Comey said she wasn’t under oath, he does’t know if 5 or 6 attorneys interviewed Hillary. Comey did not even talk to all of the attorneys who interviewed her before he ran to say “No prosecutor would ever prosecute Hillary.”
😐

That’s what Comey said.

That’s right. But, he did say even if she wasn’t under oath and lied they could prosecute her for that.

Apparently Hillary didn’t directly answer questions. The interview was between FBI officials and her attorneys.

Well, what a good deal for Hillary. Her lawyers and friends all know that she can’t help lying even when she doesn’t need to.

Then it is obstruction justice.
Not that it matters, I believe Hillary is more likely to die of natural causes or become incapacitated from a stroke or other life altering event than she is to be held accountable by the swine in DC.
Clinton Foundation still under investigation if I read Comey right.

Both Gowdy and Jordan laid out clearly that the legal definition of “intent” had been more than reasonably met.
Comey is almost using the “intent clause” as a defense attorney would use it in an insanity defense, this is pure idiocy that Comey and the democrats are asking us to accept.

My husband has been watching and listening with headphones on, so I’m getting little exciting updates about what this or that one just said. I used to watch these things, with Issa, then with Gowdy and others, asking all those tough questions and pontificating. I used to root for the “good” guys when they would make their devastating points. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t remember anything real ever happening as a result of all these hearings. All I can remember is threats that something substantive would happen, or one investigative hearing would spin off into more investigative hearings. Meanwhile, the politicians are filmed looking tough and providing good video for political ads and GOP talking points, great stuff to be used when it’s time for their next election.
I thought Issa was a great guy, years ago. He did put on a really good show with his hearings. I was on twitter back then. One day, after watching him again and then seeing him tweet something, I responded and said something like “Why don’t you all just stop talking and actually DO something!” I was beginning to feel very frustrated. He actually answered me, politely, but I don’t remember what he said. I was still so into wanting to believe in them that I later felt very guilty. I had snarked at one of the good guys. I actually sent an apology tweet. This hearing today, and watching my husband getting excited about the questioning, really pointed out to me how much I have changed. I spent years watching this stuff, but my husband was working 10-hour days and never had the time to watch long hearings. I kept him informed. One day, if I remember correctly, it was just like the saying: “the straw that broke the camel’s back.” After endless occasions of getting my hopes up and believing what these people said and their implied promises of action, I just stopped.

I’m watching it on CNN. I just mute the sound when people like Cummings are speaking. He and others are now bringing up the “slaughter” of black men by police. What does that have to do with Hillary Clinton?

I felt like standing up and screaming when he did that. Oh, boo hoo, another black criminal with a gun shot by police. (Ignoring 60 black young men killed by young black men)

Yes, a lot of misinformation, or as I would say: first reports are suspected. And the Big one next door is the FBI Director BLINKING cohesion in talking to Congress today. My Morris Code is very rusty, is there someone here or there up to speed?

Comey was giving Morse code with his eyes 😂.
Something Comey did which really is a tell for anyone who has any people reading skills is he scrunched up his face at some point to show how perplexed he was by a salvo. And in true rookie fashion Comey made sure that his “confusion” was clear by saying something like, “Well I’m not really sure about that or what it means, that is why I was scrunching up my face like this” Then he made the same stupid face again and pointed to his own face 🙄 I almost fell off the couch laughing it was so pathetic.

Well, SD was writing metaphorically. The whole presser with the FBI was unusual, the fact he stressed the FBI doesn’t bring charges, that’s up to the Department of Justice. Everything said after that was opinion.

They will have to find me first, we do have a secret place on our farm that is not easy to find and if they find me they will have to kill me because we won’t go without a fight.
In the meantime I don’t have to put up with feral animals burning down my city and killing cops and citizens.

Scattered reports from Dallas that two police officers monitoring honoring the muckraking inducements to riot from Louidiana and Minnesota governors (both liberal Democrats) and out
POtuS. Officers were monitoring Black Lives Matter protest when they were shot, no eord on their conditions.
Raw reporting says one says one suspect in custody andbpolice are looking for a second shoter dressed in tactical gear with a bulletproof vest.
Yet another example of innocent and otherwise peaceful members of society forced into prosctive biolence by whute authoritarian perfidy! Or animals protesting being treated like animals by resorting to animalistic behavior – your choice. Obama and his adherents trying to get those before the Conventions.

Maybe he can get Obama to have his case transferred to Federal jurisdiction and thevFBI to investigate it.
Any bets if the shooter(s) are black whether their cases will be tried in Federal court as civil rights violations of the officers?

I understand the sentiment but it’s important to get the animals in front of the justice system and let the chops and sentiments fall where they may. They turds will serve ad catalysts that will help crystalize sides, no longer will closet racists like Obama get to talk in veiled threats, code words and half truths, whipping up these deadly and violent attacks, then claim ‘I din’ do nuffin’!’

There is no use in putting savages into the court system, these people will never believe that they did anything wrong nor will their supporters. Our court system was made for a civilized society, their culture bears no resemblance to civilization.
I admire your dispassion though. You are a better person than me.

To further illustrate my point some wretched savage she beast was just spouting off and acting indignant that the police took a BLM thug into custody because he was wearing a flack jacket. Honest to God she was pissed off because there was no reason for the police to make him put his arms up just because he was dressed for war.
Truly I will have to go to confession. I do not care if every one of the thugs and every one of the people that think like this she beast are removed from earth. They are evil in mind body heart and soul redeemable only by god but they are truly hateful evil dangerous sub-human cretins.

This thing will not come to a head one way or another as long as we allow the engineers to continue managing the narrative. We need to get the players into an open court where the Feds will sjow their mollycoddling of neo-revolutionaries, let their hate agenda spill out and have the public either surrender or demand a full fumigation of these vermin.

Those of us old enough to remember black revolutionaries in the late 60s/early 70s see a redux. Remember the Weather Underground Organization? Remember their ‘kill the pigs’ program? Remember Obama’s buddy Ayers…and how about Dohrn? Starting to see a connection?

Black panthers are making a comeback. Did you see the black “representatives” yesterday, questioning Comey about what he plans to do about police shootings of innocent black people? The assumption is always that the police are the bad folks – and that goes all the way up to the White House.
