EarlyAmericanFlagThe Continental Congress declared that “the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

The first official U.S. flag flown during battle was on August 3, 1777, at Fort Schuyler (Fort Stanwix) during the Siege of Fort Stanwix. Massachusetts reinforcements brought news of the adoption by Congress of the official flag to Fort Schuyler. Soldiers cut up their shirts to make the white stripes; scarlet material to form the red was secured from red flannel petticoats of officers’ wives, while material for the blue union was secured from Capt. Abraham Swartwout’s blue cloth coat. A voucher is extant that Capt. Swartwout of Dutchess County was paid by Congress for his coat for the flag. (Wikipedia)

I gave up being a political optimist when Carter was elected. I found that being a pessimist is morecrewarding as if you’re right there’s not that big sense of letdown or betrayal and if you’re right you can feel beeter by telling everyone: “I told ya so!”.

Sorta like that big ‘rah rah, we’re gonna kick there asses all the way back to XXXXX’ speech the stay-behind rank would give you before a battle. It was all pump and dump, flag and country, we’re gonna kick ’em in the butt…however you were cautioned to have your will and insurance data up to date.

You know, I have never believed for a minute that Hillary would be indicted. I was of sound mind and sober thought and knew that there wasn’t a chance and so I was ready for her minions smirking holier than thou perverse attitude that was going to follow the announcement. Ready for her evil smile.

              And then 😕

that rat-ass Comey described gross negligence to a tee and I thought Wow! Comey is going to act within the law, and then just as I began to have some hope, Comey says “Ha ha , just kidding the Beast walks.”

So I am back to believing every single one of them is a corrupt piece of garbage and the only way our country has any hope is a second revolution. I hope and pray that second revolution takes place at the ballot box on November 8th 2016.

Hope everyone has had a good holiday weekend and didn’t blow any fingers off. 🙂

Mine has been fun, but busy. DH smoked all the bbq Saturday while I did all the inside cooking. Was at the dirt track until all hours Saturday night. Had a good time with family and friends yesterday and today along with assisting with newborn animal births today. We had piggies born along with twin goats. Piggies we knew were coming any day, goat we had no idea. A new doe we bought that wasn’t supposed to be bred when we bought her, bagged up a few days ago and we knew she wasn’t just fat from all the grass and leaves she was eating.
Piggies kept us on our toes, she popped them out faster than we could get them dried off and all the other stuff you have to do to newborn piggies. She was 3 days late, so they must have wanted to be born on Independence day. lol
Some of the family and friends wanted to watch all the births, some had never seen them before, others were too grossed out to even look.

Tundra, is the PA available? The strep culture came back negative. But, it has been 5 days now and I seem to be getting worse, although I feel better in the afternoons. Oh, yes, I have had a low grade fever, no sweating at all, and this morning I woke up sweating. I hope that is a good sign. I am moving into the whiny stage now. 😦 I don’t know if there is anything other than getting healthy that will help that, though. I’m sick of noodle soup. 😦

You bet, USmom. I went back to the original discussion on July 1st to review the symptoms you reported–just fever and sore throat, right? But you did mention some post-nasal drip. Everything you’ve mentioned is consistent with viral illness; the high fever, the variation in intensity over the course of a day. Unless there is some new symptom that has shown up, your description sounds like you have turned the corner and the worst should be over. Breaking a sweat is a good sign of fever abatement. I hope you are taking Tylenol and/or anti-inflammatory (Motrin/ibuprofen, Aleve/naproxen, or aspirin), along with frequent warm salt water gargles and drinking at least 2 liters/day of clear fluids. Post-nasal drip contributes significantly to sore throat, and antihistamine (Benedryl/diphenhydramine, Zyrtec/cetirizine, Claritin/loratadine, Allegra/fexofenadine) helps to dry up all mucus production. People over age 65 need to take minimal amounts, as they also dry up urine production, which is not good. Bottom line: it should be getting better, do the gargles, push the fluids. And avoid dairy products, which increase the mucus load your body must deal with. Let me know if something new has developed; you can email me if you don’t want to tell the world here.

Thanks, I guess I am doing pretty much what I can, then. I was just concerned, when after 4 days I got worse. And, I have to be very still or I cough my head off. Like I said, I am in the whiny stage. 😀 Truth is, I am just spoiled because I almost never catch anything anymore.

Now see? You haven’t mentioned coughing before. Any other symptoms you haven’t mentioned? Congestion of chest/head/nasal passages? The best over-the-counter (OTC) cough suppressant is dextromethorphan, usually abbreviated DM, as in Robitussin DM. Codeine is better, but requires a prescription. For chest or head congestion, get Sudafed–the real stuff for which you have to sign a book in pharmacy and show your driver’s license. For nasal congestion, Afrin nasal spray. Generics for either are fine. Steam is excellent for congestion also. Boil water on the stove and put your face over it with a towel over your head making a tent. Also warm packs to your face: soak a washcloth in hot water, squeeze it out, place it on your face. Use two and rotate, they cool off quickly. Hope some of this helps.

Comey said that Hillary’s actions would never had been taken by a reasonable person concerned with the protection of confidential and secret information, he said her server was remarkably un-secure, he said her lawyers didn’t turn over everything that they should have, he said they found 1000’s of emails that she effectively tried to destroy.

Yet she did not act criminally. Comey said NO prosecutor would bring charges.

Comey basically said Hillary endangered America by her incompetence her gross negligence her moronic behavior but hey! she didn’t mean for any of it to benefit herself or open the door to hackers she was just plain old too stupid to follow the rules so there was nothing prosecutable in her actions.

And as an aside Comey said no one influenced the investigation.

Thanks. I just found a feed on YouTube. I know that the decision whether or not to prosecute is now up to the DOJ, and we know what that means. Absolutely sucks.

The rule of law no longer exists. The facts are that Hillary broke the law. Her intent is beside the point, assuming that what Comey said is true. And people want this woman, who clearly has poor judgment (an extreme understatement) to be President? SMH

Yep. If America chooses a tyrant dictator as our president our fall will be harder and swifter than any of us could envision.

Comey said Hillary is above the law that is the bottom line.

Such a sad time for America. Hillary will be absolutely insane with power, she no longer has any reason to even pose as a responsible law abiding citizen. She was just given a free pass to finish destroying America.

May God place a holy curse on her with swift justice.

FIRST, no comment on the public corruption investigation against the Clinton Foundation …

FBI Director James Comey badly wounds Hillary, just below the threshold where the DNC will be forced to replace her on the ticket with a stronger candidate who can easily beat her.

Clitonites are radically loyal to her and Bill, they will scream from the rooftops that Hillary was cleared (they will be wrong but that is what they heard). they can not process the negatives about Hillary.

DNC is terrified of the Clinton’s black list and her knowledge of their ghosts. She will be their candidate unless she strokes out. My opinion anyhow.

Certainly there is a core of Clintonistas – and other Dems who will vote for her in order to defeat Trump. Nothing to be done about that.

Nevertheless, there are Democrat voters who will see what she is, and move to Trump, or stay home, or vote for Gary Johnson. The fact that she is weakened, but stays in the race, could be a very good thing. A new Dem candidate is an unknown factor.
