This is a short recap from the first days battle of Gettysburg. I did leave a lot of actions by these units out only for brevity. Had to check my SAMS battle book, just to make sure the units were correct. This post is dedicated to all Mississippians who live by the battle cry “Take the Flag, keep ahead of the Mississippians”!!

Success to Disaster in less than an Hour. July 1, 1863.
This short vignette. Joe Davis, nephew of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, Commanding a Brigade (2, 11(Wagon train guard), 42 MS, 55 NC) at Gettysburg.
This action takes place; North of the railroad cut on McPherson Ridge between 10:30-1145 ( times are estimated). After sweeping Union Cavaly off Herrs’ Ridge, Davis’s BDE is deployed on the Left and Archers’ BDE on the Right of the Chambersburg Pike west of Gettysburg. Intelligence was sketchy, Union cavalry was reported in and around Gettysburg and thus far opposed the two Confederate BDE this morning. The Army of Potomac was believed by some Confederates around Fredrick Maryland moving west.
Davis’s BDE stepped off with the 2, 42 MS and 55NC regiments (left to right) after crossing Willoughby Run, initial contact with 56PA, 76NY . The 2MS extended to the left flanking the 76 NY. After heavy fighting in the wheat field, the Union regiments were driven back towards Seminary Ridge. Davis ‘s BDE continues sweeping South towards the railroad cut. On the West side of the Railroad cut stood the 147 NY. The 147 NY stood its ground, the 2, 42 MS was flanking 147 NY regiment on the Right. After the second order to withdraw was received the 147 NY withdrew towards Seminary ridge.
At this point in this unit action Davis’s BDE has defeated and driven from the field of Battle 3 out of 5 Union regiments. And occupied key and dominant terrain on the Union Right Flank on McPherson Ridge. With the intent to roll up the Union Line.
Union General Wadsworth only reserve regiment was the 6 WI. The 6 WI faced right (North) towards the Chambersburg Pike, and raced towards the rail fence. Upon reaching the fence Col Dawes ordered fire by files into the 2, 42 MS regiments. The Mississippians jumped into the rail cut to take cover. Dawes and the other commanders 14 Brooklyn, 95 NY led the charge across the Pike towards the Railroad cut. The Mississippians were trapped in the Railroad cut by these Union regiments and surrendered. Thus ending Davis’s short lived victory on McPherson ridge.
Davis shortly after the battle was asked where his Brigade was, with his sword in his right hand, Davis raised the point of the sword towards heaven.

And our small town has a monument/memorial to the local Mississippians who served in the Civil War. Over the years it’s been expanded to include veterans of every war thru and including Iraq and Afghanistan.
BTW, talked with our State Senator last week about an issue and she mentioned problems the state legislature is having with liberals raising hell over volunteers placing any kind of Confederate flag on Confederate graves in state cemeteries.

Tell those Liberals “go to He$l”!!! If the Cemetery Association does not have an issue, then there is NO standing in Court.
A few years ago, on the marker where Gen. Lou Armstead fell at the angle, somebody had placed a small Confederate flag. I was standing near by when the wailing started, I had thought someone was bite ba a rattlesnake, so I went over. As this lady reached to remove the Confederate Flag, I said don’t touch it, your desecrating a monument. Now back up before I call the Park Police……. Haven’t been to Gettysburg this year, maybe September. I still have about 20 small flags, and I’ll pay my respects to these soldiers.

There are a few pus-pockets of liberalism in the state, Jackson being a biggie, but we’re managing to hold our ground. Modtnof them have no idea what thry’re doing, they just wanna be ‘recognized’ or feel like they belong.

Nothing happens by chance with the Clinton cartel. Nothing. Days after Bill and Lynch’s clandestine meeting Hillary is being questioned about her emails by the FBI. Is anyone in the MSM connecting these two events? Both Bill and Hillary are terrified of their electronic footprint, could it possibly be that their servant Lynch handed Bill a hard copy of the questions that are going to be asked of The Beast.

What a disturbing era for America.

For manynit’s revenge, getting a woman into the WH regardless of her politics, honesty or proof of her being an actual human being. For others it’s a btight spot in their otherwise miserable lives, they can brag in their future Statbucks sessions about how they were part of the historical wave that elected the first female president, much as some Jews did about their electing Hitler, right up until the other jack boot fell.
The wealthy forces of Democratic darkness seem to be triumphing over the wealthy forces of Republican darkness. I don’t think it’s going to be a matter of whom will nail us, only how fast and how badly. At least the Republicans send flowers and call the next morning.

Interesting, now Dick Morris is saying that Lynch has decided to go with what the FBI recommends instead of leaving the final decision on whether to charge her to the AG. Perhaps Lynch, despite the meeting with Bill, has seen the size of the gathering storm and sees no reason to use her career as a closk over Clinton’s mud puddle. Let’s face it, Lynch isn’t a Hillary-style AG and, while her time as AG is a benefit to her future employment, blatantly covering up for Hillary will tarnish a lot of her creds.
Onward, forces of truth and light!

Hillary would still have to counter the amassed evidence and find some way to neutralize (cough, cough) any underlings who decided to make acdeal and not sacrifice themselves for her career.
I think Bill also would be smart enough to see how this obviously planned and blatant meeting would look and might just set it up to neutralize Lynch as he knew she was planning on letting the cards just fall.

I’m not sure what the game plan is/was, I am reading that Lynch was in on it from the beginning and knew exactly how it was going to play out and it is going exactly as planned Lynch remains AG and doesn’t have to besmirch herself by swimming in the Clinton outhouse (well at least any deeper down than she already has) by not pursuing the Clinton crimes because she will recuse herself and let the burden and political fallout land squarely in the lap of her understudy Bill Baer.

I saw Lynch on TV a week ago saying she wasn’t going to bow out of thebprocess and her plans were to let the FBI’s findings rule any decisions. That might have set Bill of on his neutralization campaign.
I do remember that the Golden Rule of most Federal decision makers is: ‘An action passed is an action completed’ so Lynch may be taking that route but you be thinkin’ she be kickin’ her career to the curb fo’ some honky beeatch?

I saw that interpretation, I just don’t want to believe she’d throw her career, the Constitution she’s sworn to protect and what remains of the integrity in Federal LEA to save Hillary’s ass.
I know that when I brought a case to the DA’s office it was up to them to decide whether to prosecute, they’d accept my arrest and report but they had sole discretion as to whether it would go to trial. We’d didcussed that here as it was related to the high number of violent felony cases refused by the DA’s office. Question here is will Lynch quash this, especially as blatant and political it all is. The quash may cause damage to Hillary’s campaign also, and if dhe’s elected we may well be as close to another civil war and Constitutional crisis as we’ve been since the end of the last Civil War. We may have the kleptarchy we’ve been joking about come November.

The oldest library in the world just opened to the public — here’s a look inside
    http://www.techinsider.io/inside-al-qarawiyyin-the-oldest-library-in-the-world-2016-6

1,157 years after it first opened, the world’s oldest library has finally been restored and unveiled to the public.

Located in Fez, Morocco, the al-Qarawiyyin library is part of the world’s oldest continually operating university, al-Qarawiyyin University, which opened in 859. The library got several small additions and renovations over its millennium-long existence, but it wasn’t until 2012 that Canadian-Moroccan architect Aziza Chaouni decided to give it a total face lift.

To show off al-Qarawiyyin’s new appearance, the university has opened the space, which had previously been reserved for academics and theologians, to the general public.

    Take a look inside.

This needs to retitled; “Worlds oldest surviving library that the museums didn’t burn (yet)”

In an escalation of mutual distrust among top party members, a Republican National Committee official will formally move to block House Speaker Paul D. Ryan from possibly thwarting Donald Trump’s nomination, The Washington Times has learned.

Bruce Ash, chairman of the national party’s powerful rules committee, will petition to amend the “40d” rule to bar the counting of votes in the televised roll call of states for candidates who are not on the convention ballot. Mr. Ash’s proposal would “close and lock the back door to a hijacking of the nomination” by the small but tenacious #NeverTrump and “vote your conscience” factions.

FBI Discovers Hacker Guccifer Missing From Jail, Whereabouts Still Unknown

    http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index2066.htm

An astounding Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today says that the Romanian hacker Marcel Lehel Lazar (known as Guccifer), who successfully gained access to all of the private and government emails of Hillary Clinton, was discovered missing yesterday by agents from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who were sent to interview him at the US jail he was supposed to be in—and his whereabouts are still unknown. [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]

According to this report, Guccifer is at the center of what is turning into one of America’s greatest political scandals for his hacking into the private email server of former Secretary of State (and current US presidential candidate) Hillary Clinton that, in turn, allowed the SVR to gain access to them too—and which recently an unnamed US State Department official admitted to the Washington Times both China and Israel now have possession of too. …
