MEDIAITE:

Reports are indicating that it was a traffic stop by police that led to the discovery of the weapons. According to NBC 4 New York, “multiple loaded guns, rifles and ballistic vests,” were all discovered when the police pulled over a vehicle for having a cracked windshield.

Two men in their 50s and a female in her 20s were in the car at the time of the stop around 8 a.m. ET this morning. According to NBC 4:

The guns seized included long-range weapons as well as handguns. A camouflage helmet with what appeared to be night goggles was also recovered.

Two senior law enforcement officials say the three suspects are so-called “gun enthusiasts” and have no nexus to terror. There is no known threat.

We’ll see. ABC7 in New York reports:

Authorities believe the suspects were in possession of the guns as part of criminal activity, likely heroin related. Additionally, there was a large amount of ammunition and ballistic vests.

The arrests do not have a connection to any terrorism, but the Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating out of an abundance of caution. Police say all suspects are from Pennsylvania, where some of what was found may be legal to possess.

Hm. Gun enthusiasts? The NBC 4 report includes this: “Drugs were in the vehicle along with the guns, according to one law enforcement official. One of the suspects allegedly told authorities the trio was en route to Queens to try to save a friend who is on heroin and being held against her will. Police are looking for the possible woman in Queens.”

1 Shotgun, 1 AR Pistol, 5 handguns, 10 magazines, an assortment of knives and a .50 cartridge whistle.

    All 100% legal.

I have made range trips with more weapons and ammunition than that, but never with so many knives.

    From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_New_York#New_York_City):

Residents of New York City who wish to obtain a pistol license must apply through the New York Police Department License Bureau at One Police Plaza in lower Manhattan.[26] The choice of licenses are: Unrestricted Concealed Carry License, Restricted Business Carry License, and Restricted Premises-only License.[26] NYC Unrestricted Concealed Carry Licenses are valid throughout the rest of the state. Security Guards and business people who regularly carry valuables may be issued a Restricted Business Carry License which is valid only while conducting the business specifically as it was described, in great detail, on the application for the license. NYC premises-only licenses are the licenses issued to average citizens who cannot show a need for self-defense greater than any another average citizen. They are clearly marked: RESTRICTED – NOT FOR CARRY and require the licensee to obtain special permission from the NYPD License Bureau to leave the city with the handgun, unless hunting with a valid hunter authorization card. Most licenses issued in New York City are for on-premises possession only, for self-defense within the home or business. Transporting the handgun to and from a target range is permitted, but the firearm must be unloaded and in a locked container directly to and from a range within city limits. Traveling through New York City with a license issued from another jurisdiction within New York State must be done in accordance to law (locked box, in vehicle’s trunk, no unnecessary stops).[6][7][26]

A person carrying a firearm without a valid permit in New York City could be charged with “criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree,” a felony. Unlawfully carrying a firearm in New York City is typically punishable by a prison term of 3 1/2 years. A high-profile example of the penalties associated with New York’s restrictive gun laws is the 2-year prison sentence served by former New York Giants player Plaxico Burress, after pleading guilty to a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, stemming from his accidentally shooting himself in the leg at a New York City nightclub with a concealed handgun, for which he did not have a valid New York City concealed carry permit.

Feds allow, by Federal law, active duty police to carry their duty weapons interstate anywhere. If they work in Chicago and are vacaying in Florida, let’s say, they can take their weapon along and carry concealed. New York City doesn’t recognize the Federal law and numerous officers hsve been detained and had their weapons seized. NYC, at one tome, was going to arrest and try out-of-state officers who CCW’d but I believe they backed off on that one.

Plaxico Burress, Pittsburgh Steeler local property tax, wage tax evader. That thug POS shot himself with a Glock. Burress was carrying Mexican style, when the pistol hit the floor, the round went into his thigh. Glock said BS, replicating the shooting, pistol would not fire…..Like I said, Thug football player, POS.

Because that truck is not going to attract attention 🙄

Ammo box with “Shoot Your Local Heroin Dealer” on it.

Higher Ground Tactical on the windshield and they are form Pennsylvania which means they are likely at the very least associated with Higher Ground Tactical range and gun shop in Pennsylvania.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia? I wonder how much and what type. Sounds like they may have taken to cleaning up the streets themselves.

No way this was a drug run or they would not have used a monster truck with a cracked windshield.

      More to the story.

I don’t know if this is myth or it actually happened but supposedly someone was selling a little red corvette. In the description under color it read “Hello police officer red” 🙂

There have been studies done over the years about colors and types of cars cops ticket most butbthen therecare survrys needed about what kinds of folks buy red Corvettes and how do they really drive.
I know cops tend, statistically, to ticket cars like Corvettes, Mustangs and Cameros a bit more than the Prius or Kia Rios but when was the ladt time you saw someone diving a hi-powered sports car at the speed limit?

Holland Tunnel gun nuts claim they were on a rescue mission

    Hmmm… notice they are immediately labeled “gun nuts.” I think most liberals would be stunned at many people’s arsenals. The first sentence of the piece reads;

Three backwoods gun nuts were busted on their way to play vigilante in New York City — while riding in a pickup truck loaded with weapons and plastered with their love of the 2nd Amendment, law enforcement sources said. 😱

    Anyhow..

Cramsey (passenger in truck) owns Higher Ground Tactical and is on a mission to save kids caught up in the world of heroin addiction. Cramsey’s 20 year old daughter died from a heroin overdose 4 month ago.

An officer saw the cracked windshield in the highly decorated truck and when he approached the driver, Dean Smith, the officer saw a pistol clip on the front seat, he asked Smith to exit the vehicle and Smith had been sitting on a loaded 45.

A small amount of pot and a pot pipe were also found in a search of the vehicle.

I have to say I have blown up pictures of the truck and I don’t see a crack in the windshield. It seems to me that with the pictures being released by LE that it would be prudent to release a picture of the crack that got the arrests rolling. I know lighting can wreak havoc with pictures and it may be there, but I don’t see it.
