Insane Muslim Terrorists [Daniel Greenfield]
“It’s a well known fact that there is no such thing as Islamic terrorism. Instead there are just a lot of people out there, of Muslim origin, suffering from a unique set of psychological problems that cause them to shout Allahu Akbar while trying to kill people who aren’t Muslims…”

Drive-by #2…w/two interestingly ironic moments. First one: “There was no benefit to anyone to spread the knowledge” [although “ironic” might not be the most accurate descriptive for this statement] . See if you can spot the second one (hint: it’s in the embedded Boston Globe article):
Surprise! After secret talks, tiny Vermont town gets 100 Muslim migrants

I’m curious as to why the Feds are moving these Moslems into snow country across the northen US? Do they figure the innercity violence and ruined manufacturing complexes will help make them feel at home or is it a hope the cold will slow their possible violent tendencies down?
The anti-civilization Moslems couldn’t have a better vehicle to propel their quest for the end of Western civilization than the West. The UN has been working on the destruction of thst same Western civilization that’s fed, brought 1st world medicine and a modicum of civilization to its host of s**thole 3rd world members’ countries. Worse yet termites in those same targeted countries are helping. Just who do the Moslems think will feed, clothe, medicate and civilize these people once the West as a meal ticket’s been destroyed? Allah’s going to come down, wave his hand and, as acreward, all of their longstanding problems with self-sufficiency will dissolve? Speak to the meteorite.

The thing is, there is nothing to prevent them from moving elsewhere. That is what has happened in other states. The “refugees” arrive, accept aid, then disappear, and nobody knows where many of them are.

“If the proposal had been floated earlier, the mayor said, the debate would have become “about them” — meaning the Syrians, their culture, and possible links to terrorism” Well, let’s not have an open discussion about what really needs to be openly discussed. We wouldn’t want to talk about the things that will affect the people who already live there. 😡

Interesting little segment on the news tonite, as happens almost every weekend in New Orleans there was a second line parade in the city against violence. Aside from the fact that there’s hardly anything the residents won’t parade for or against, especially if alcohol comes with the parade, these anti-violence parades have been going on for decades and have about as much effect as burning incense and sacrificing a goat.
Mayor was there, as I said I expect to see him run for the upcoming Senate seat, hugging victims forvthe cameras. Wasn’t handing out ‘Sorry for Your Loss, Vote Mitch’ buttons but I see that coming. News even had one of the people who’d been carjacked at gunpoint worrying openly not about his almost getting popped, or having his car stolen, but worried about the fates of the poor, young carjackers when they are finally caught. Probably a new resident, he was jacked in a ‘yuppie’ area that was, until recently, a spot where Fundamentalist terrorists came from the Mideast train. Let’s see how kumbaya he is after he’s robbed at gunpoint a few more times.
Another soft millennial prog type was describing his being mugged at gunpoint and described the robbers in every way except race, he choked rather than include it in his narrative. Ditto his attitude after a few more encounters.
Czarina has to go into NOLA tomorrow, for reasons I consider ridiculous BUT she wants to retain this business relationship so I’ll grind my teeth about six hours while she drives through two of the diciest areas in town. Then again, the Usual Suspects will have had a busy Friday and Sayurday nite and most likely will be sleeping it off.

A second channel had a different take on the march this AM. They focused on a woman who was carrying a certificate the city had given her in 1978 after she was hit by gunfire in an innercity shooting. Here she is, some 38 years later, still marching with that certificate, and hings have just become worse in her neighborhood. Maybe next year Mayor Mitch will hug her and her certificate.

I’d hire a person who showed lack of judgement by posting a drunken picture or even smoking a joint before I’d hire a paid “charity” buffoon.
I am involved with charities as an off shoot of certain things I do and people I interact with. The last affair I was at a man was bragging about how he paid for his loafer son and DIL’s honeymoon. Two weeks on a beach. Did I mention that the son didn’t even have a job to come back to. Wait ! What a nice gift for a young couple just starting out in life, and what a scrooge I must be. Did I mention the son is in his mid thirties? 🙄
Also there is always whining and complaining about how the landlords or other people don’t do more for the poor but never a voice (other than mine) that says “Wait, what about the people showing the landlord some common decency.
This is a sore spot for me as I hate hypocrites,

I came across this calm, straightforward article on the BLM and the consequences of the way they are being treated. It isn’t really new information, just well stated.
“We have been here before. In the 1960s and early 1970s, black and white radicals directed hatred and occasional violence against the police. The difference today is that anti-cop ideology is embraced at the highest reaches of the establishment: by the President, by his Attorney General, by college presidents, by foundation heads, and by the press. The presidential candidates of one party are competing to see who can out-demagogue President Obama’s persistent race-based calumnies against the criminal justice system, while those of the other party have not emphasized the issue as they might have.”
“I don’t know what will end the current frenzy against the police. What I do know is that we are playing with fire, and if it keeps spreading, it will be hard to put out.”

So….. in between work related stuff I speak to “she whom shall not be named”, and she just happens to be on this healthy diet / exercise fad thing. I don’t recall what she said that caused me to look up eating habits in the US since I generally try not to listen when she speaks, but I did a quick Google search regardless.
I find it interesting that there are lots of websites of “historians”, that in a very authoritarian way present making food before a 100 years ago, as taking all of women’s time and that fire was used.
According to current history books, killing indigenous people, beating slaves, and eating fire cooked meat is about all that was done in 2000 years after the fall of Rome.
I ran across a little gem of a grammar school book, first published in 1900, that completely turns current popular diet and fitness wisdom upside down as well as popular history.

Adulteration of Foods.
Many of our foods are sometimes spoiled by persons who manufacture or sell them, putting into them cheaper substances that are dangerous to health. Such persons seem to care little for the purity of foods, but are chiefly interested in making the most money possible out of them. So common has this adulteration become that in most of the states the law-making power has passed pure food bills to prevent the sale of such adulterated articles. These laws are most worthy and should be strictly enforced, for what is money-making by a few individuals compared with the health of the people of an entire city or state, which may be greatly endangered by the use of these impure or adulterated foods. Foods often adulterated are maple sugar, candy, syrup, milky butter, chocolate, coffee, flour, vinegar, jams, bread, and jellies. Sugar, syrup, and candy are sometimes made from com by a peculiar process, by means of which the starch of the com is changed into glucose, and a kind of sugar not so sweet or palatable as sugar made from sugar-cane or sugar beets. Foods are often colored by coal-tar dyes, in order to hide their inferior quality and to make them look better than they really are. Besides, some of these colors are poisonous and produce disturbance of the digestion, or other injurious effects.
…
You know how home-made jellies and preserves taste. They are wholesome foods. When made from the pure juices of fruits and pure sugar they are expensive. On this account much jelly sold at a lo^ price is made from glucose, a substance made from com starch, to which acids are added, besides some unhealthful coloring matter to make them look like the pure jellies made at home from currants, strawberries, grapes, and other fruits.
Perhaps you have heard people speak jokingly of wooden nutmegs, hickory hams, and oats made by whittling shoe-pegs, all said to be the invention of the ingenious Connecticut Yankee of fifty years ago. But these are as nothing compared with the food adulterations of to-day, which are so skillfully carried out that detection of the adulteration is difficult. They grow out of a general demand for cheap things, and when the genuine article cannot be supplied at a profit, we find some skillful adulteration taking its place. In addition to those already noted, please observe the following list. We have artificial white-of-egg, artificial butter and adulterated wheat flour, but we have buckwheat adulterated with wheat midlings, cider vinegar distilled from grains, lemon extracts without lemon oil, and vanilla extracts without a trace of vanilla. We buy “Vermont Maple Syrup” that never was within a thousand miles of Vermont, but was made in a little, dingy city factory. Skim milk is filled with cheap lard, and sold all over the world in ” American Pure Cream Cheese.”

My parents lived to be 91. They were raised on farms and ate beans and cornbread most days. My mother said she took a bean sandwich to school every day. Every once in a while the little rich girl she knew would trade her a meat sandwich for her bean sandwich. The less packaged, the better. Interesting that book is what we should go by today.

Reminds me of a story in my family (genealogy nut, when I’m “on” it) – a great (or great-great) grandmother managed to hoe one toe off while attending “crops”/building the dug-out. Had 2 or more kids already at 20 yrs. of age, and of course, died (circa 1901 or 1906.) Men at that time tended to have 3 or more wives as them pesky “home accidents” tended to take the current wife out pretty regular-like. Them long skirts catchin’ fire whilst cooking/doing laundry didn’t help much, neither.

Yeah, having baby after baby didn’t either. I remember reading the diary of a young woman who married and left with her husband to travel west in the 1800’s. She had a couple of live births who eventually died and about 7 miscarriages. She was about 22 when she died.

There’s a part in this book that has a table of foods, cooking methods, and digestion times in the stomach. The author explains the information is known to be correct thanks to one man named (I don’t recall) and how he had a stomach wound that allowed people to watch what he ate being digested.
I’m picturing a tavern setting and bets involved in the creation of this table.
“Feed him the fried pork! Takers on the fried pork pool? Who says 3 hours? We got $5 on 3 hours! Who says 4 hours?”

30 inconvenient truths for the Trump is a terrible person crowd.
1) Trump gave Ryan White, one of the first hemophilic children to be afflicted with Aids, access and use of Trump’s private plane so that Ryan could be seen by the best doctors across the United States.
2) Trump came to the financial aid of the Clyde Frazier Jr. Harlem Hoops tournament.
3) Sent $25,000 to Sgt. Tahmooressi to help him rebuild his life after Sgt, Tahmooressi was imprisoned for 214 days in a Mexican prison.
4) When Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew were murdered, Donald Trump opened up Trump Towers to her for as haven, he didn’t charge her a dime and Trump also set up security for Jennifer and her family members so they didn’t have to deal with the intrusive press and the public in general.
5) Donald Trump literally saved the farm of Annabell Hill. After Mrs. Hill’s husband committed suicide with the hope that his life insurance would pay the bills, (because it was a suicide the insurance company did not pay) leaving Mrs. Hill with debilitating grief and in a devastating position. Trump paid off her mortgage on the farm.
6) He donated the use of his personal plane for 3 year old Andrew Ten, so that Ten could receive medical attention, commercial airlines had refused to fly Andrew because of his medical needs.
7) Bus driver Darnell Barton convinced a woman not to jump from a bridge into traffic and led her safely off the ledge. Trump sent Mr. Barton $10,000 saying, “I thought that was so beautiful to see. I think he is a great guy with an amazing heart and I said that man should be rewarded”
