      Mornin’ Wee!

My brother was telling me yesterday about this new donut shop they opened in town and he went in to get a donut and cup of coffee to eat while he waited to get new tires put on his car. He ordered a glazed donut and a large cup of coffee to go. He said the girl behind the counter started asking him which glaze flavor and he told her, “I just want a plain glazed donut, you know the kind that is round with a hole in it covered in a sugar glaze.” Then she asked him what kind of coffee and he told her, “the kind that is black.” lol

My fried used to go to Dunkin Donuts for a donut and coffee every Sunday. There was a guy who also sat at the counter almost every Sunday that my friend was there. The guy always ordered a powdered sugar donut and a coffee. Then he would proceed to scrape the powdered sugar off of the donut onto a napkin and then eat the donut after he scraped it off 😏.

I can’t remember if my friend ever asked him why he didn’t just order a plain donut. I don’t think he did or I think I would remember.

I haven’t been to a Dunkin Donuts in awhile but they always made the best donuts. I was always addicted to their sausage rolls though it was brought me through the door.

I’m not a coffee drinker but my DH always said they had the best coffee.

Not a coffe drinker either but my mom and sisters love their coffee.

They had a asiago cheese bagel which was great and their iced donuts with sprinkles were my favorite 🙂

I like Tim Horton’s coffee and donuts too. Do you have them in Wisconsin?

Hi Stella, sorry for the late reply, I’ve been out and about all day. I’ve never heard of Tim Horton’s so I don’t think we have them at least not down here in South East Wisconsin. Dunkin’ is the only chain that I know we have. Krispy Kreme shut their doors here a while back.

We have local shops and then the bakeries inside of all the supermarkets.

We had a great little donut shop here, it was run by people transitioning from prison and rehab programs to life in the real world, they made everything fresh and on site. Probably the best donuts I’ve ever had.

Hoping some of you who used to live in TX can relate. I think a lot of these apply to other states as well. The shorts & parka one, cracks me up. When growing up, our thick coats with a hood was called a “car-coat”. Can remember being in shorts, flip-flops and being told “get your car-coat on”. 😀

I remember having a car-coat. In fact, I don’t think I ever had a REAL coat until I went to Upstate New York for a few years. What I had in Florida were actually jackets. And, I just couldn’t understand how all those Northerners could ever stay warm up there in the real cold. I got an education.

I have a really warm down coat, with a hood, and a very warm wool coat. Of course, you know now that it is the accessories – gloves, hat, scarf, socks, boots – that are really important!

And, longhandles and layered sweaters. My in-laws sent my son a pair of mittens when we lived in Southern California when he was about 5. I explained why they had no fingers in them, but his question was “What are they for?” He couldn’t imagine wearing ANYTHING on his hands.
