Today we have Republican primary/caucus in two states:
Arizona, 58 delegates, closed primary, winner takes all.
Utah, 40 delegates, closed caucus, proportional, 15% threshold, ceiling is 50%.
There is also a convention in American Samoa, with 9 delegates.
Real Clear Politics has a good summary of the Republican Party primaries/caucuses: RCP Republican Primaries.
Here are the latest Real Clear Politics polls for the states. Trump is ahead in Arizona, and Cruz is ahead in Utah.
Although delegates are distributed proportionally in Utah, if Cruz is able to get more than 50% of the vote, he gets all of the delegates. Also, if any candidates do not get at least 15% of the vote, they do not earn delegates. The Y2 Analytics poll is rumored to be “suspect”, although it is pretty clear that Cruz will do very well in Utah. Just how well is unknown.
Links to follow the vote tallies (later today):
NOTE: Arizona polling places close at 10:00 pm EST (7:00 pm MT). One exception is Navajo County, which closes one hour earlier (they observe Daylight Time).
Utah Republican caucus closes at 11:00 pm MDT (1:00 am EDT).
Results from American Samoa won’t be in until sometime tomorrow, as they are 7 hours later than EDT.

Did my part, voted for Trump. Used the electronic machines to see how they worked. Everything looked good, very simple, large selection size even without the large font option.
When I made my selection, it printed a confirmation “receipt” that is kept for recount purposes should it be necessary. There is a window you can see the reciept through with either direct vision, a privacy screen that magnifies the receipt and prevents anyone from the side from seeing, or an opaque panel you can close entirely for ultimate privacy safeguard.
The voting machine consoles were set up in little easel cubicles, no booths. There was also the option for paper ballots and what looked like more traditional booths, and a place where you could drop off your early vote if you hadn’t mailed it in.
So far, I’m very pleased with Arizona and the way they handle things.
Wife and I both voted Trump. Brother voted for Cruz early a few weeks ago, and after I think I finally convinced him.

TV tabloid news programs are hammering on Trump University as a fraud perpetrated by The Donald. Talking heads going on about how so many ex-students failed the course, didn’t get anything from the course and are left with monetary lisses and/or massive debt. Hmmmm…wonder how many of them had the same problems with regular college?
They should consider themselves lucky, at least none of them privvy to alleged fiscal fraud connected with the canidate ended up dead in a DC park.

Remember how with them you get ‘two for one’? With them ‘candidate’ is a compound noun…as is ‘crook’.

I hear American Samoa has a large Mormon population, which would not bode well for Trump.

Do not know. Never been there.
However, Wikipedia states:
Religion in Samoa encompasses a range of groups, but 98% of the population of Samoa is Christian. The following is a distribution of Christian groups as of 2011 (the most recent census available): Congregational Christian (32 percent), Roman Catholic (19 percent), LDS (15 percent), Methodist (14 percent), Assemblies of God (8 percent) and Seventh-day Adventist (4 percent).

Interesting side note:
“Persons born in American Samoa are
U.S. nationals, but not U.S. citizens.”
Perhaps reason Cruz may have an
advantage – sympathy vote. 😉

LDS is Mormon. Samoa must be like Puerto Rico. They vote in the primaries, but not in the general.

Trump on track to win barely enough delegates for GOP nomination
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/mar/21/donald-trump-on-track-to-win-barely-enough-delegat/
If Donald Trump can keep up his winning streak, he will head to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland with just barely enough delegates to win the presidential nomination outright, avoiding a messy fight that has all sides of the GOP wary of the consequences.
Even if he is just shy of the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination, Mr. Trump will still likely walk away with a first-ballot win after he sways enough uncommitted delegates to back him for the sake of avoiding a contested convention, one prominent Republican prognosticator said.
We’ll see!

Where’s a Trump volunteer when one is needed?
Getting out the word is as important as getting out the vote.
Yesenia Alteres, 18, waited for more than 20 minutes in a line that wrapped around the Maryvale Church of the Nazarene in west Phoenix. Alteres was prepared to cast her first-ever vote in a presidential race, unaware that as a registered independent her vote won’t be tallied in the presidential primary.

Not saying it’s the case with this person, but sometimes people don’t listen. Oklahoma is a closed primary state, I told everyone I talked to they must be a registered Republican to vote and told them the deadline to change their registration. A few family members and friends I knew were registered either Independent or Democrat I reminded several times, calling them and telling them the deadline is near.
Then primary day came and some of them called me and said they couldn’t vote or that Trump wasn’t on their ballot. I wanted to slap them upside the head, but instead I told them that I told them that over and over, why didn’t they listen?

There’s some testiness going on in the primary thread at the neighbors.
I guess some of us have thicker skin than others. When Trump supporters say Texans and North Texas aka Oklahoma are stupid for voting for Cruz, I agree, although I bristle a little at the title of North Texas, that’s only down South and the last time I visited there Spanish speaking brown people were everywhere. lol
I can see my state’s warts, just like Texans can see their warts, Utah and LDS mirrors must lie to them and tell them they have no warts. BTW if I had to choose a denomination for myself it would probably be Baptist, although I’ve given up membership in a Church, but I more closely relate to Baptist and they have warts as well.
